(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Jia Junxi, 58 years old, lived in Qianxiaozhuang Village in Daxin Township, Fugou County, Henan Province. He was arrested on August 18, 2005 when clarifying the truth. Mr. Jia was tortured to death around August 29 at the county detention center.

According to witnesses, Jia Junxi was held in solitary confinement on August 28, where on orders from the guards, four inmates beat him savagely. The solitary confinement cell door remained locked for the following 24 hours; and no one checked on Jia Junxi during this period. On August 30, the perpetrators sent Jia Junxi's stiffed body to the county hospital in an attempt to cover up the crime of torture that killed him. The doctor asked, "Why are you bringing in a dead body?" The doctor refused to let the perpetrators bring the body into a ward, so they put Mr. Li's body in the hallway.

Around 6:00 p.m. on August 30, Jia Junxi's family received a death notice from the Fugou County Police Department. His family and some fellow villagers went to the hospital. They saw that Jia Junxi's teeth were clenched, his eyes wide open, one hand held in a tight fist, one leg was half bent, and his body was deformed. They confronted the perpetrators, "Why was he in such a wretched state? How did he die?" The police answered, "Heart attack." His family was suspicious and asked for an autopsy. The police said, "Nothing's going to happen even if you sue us in Beijing."

The police ignored the family's protests and cremated the body later that night. Jia Junxi's wife held the box with his ashes and said, "He left home a healthy person, and now he's a pile of ashes!"

Before his arrest, on August 18, Jia Junxi left home and joined fellow practitioners, 52-year-old Mr. Jia Heshen and his wife, to clarify the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were abducted in Liuxiu Township in Lutan County by perpetrators from the Lutan County Police Department. Later that night they were sent to the Fugou County Police Department. They were threatened and tortured, and their homes were ransacked.

Jia Junxi was tortured to death and the whereabouts of Jia Heshen and his wife are unknown.

Practitioner from Guangdong Province Tortured to Near Death, Almost Cremated Alive

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a resident of Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. Before then, my wife was a chronic medical patient who had been taking medication and injections for 18 years. When my son was 16 years old, a tumor grew in his brain. The doctor said it would be hard to get rid of. Desperate, I heard that Falun Gong was effective in getting rid of diseases and making people healthy. Mentally predisposed to make this effort, I asked my wife and son to start the practice. A miracle happened! After only two days of practicing, my wife didn't need to take medicine anymore. She soon totally recovered and could do family chores and farm work again. The tumor in my son's brain left his body as blood flowing from his arm, and he could then go back to school. I deeply admired Teacher and the power of Falun Dafa, so I also started practicing as well. My family of three began enjoying a very happy life in the practice and study of Falun Dafa. At the same time, I used my personal experience to let other people know about the practice.

In July 1999, the evil persecution by Jiang Zemin's regime started. Since my family was saved by Falun Dafa, I thought I should tell people that Falun Dafa is good. When local police officers interrogated me about my practice of Falun Gong, I used my wife and son's experiences to tell them that Falun Dafa is for saving people. The reports in the newspaper and on TV are lies made up by Jiang's regime to defame Falun Dafa. Because I told the truth, officers from the 610 Office sent me to a brainwashing session and tried to coerce me into writing a guarantee statement to stop practicing. I did not yield, so they detained me for over ten days. After being released, just like fellow practitioners, I resumed my practice in the Fa-rectification period.

In March 2002, police officers arrested me again. They kicked and punched me 65 times. Even though I am elderly, they still tortured me like that! The third day, officers from the 610 Office asked me, "Where are you from? What is your name and address, and why do you practice Falun Gong?" I asked them, "Why was I detained in jail and punched and kicked 65 times? Where is the law?" One of them said, "This is a political problem." I said, "Is it politics to beat people? What kind of politics is that?" Another one asked. "Is Falun Gong good?" I answered, "Falun Gong is very good. It teaches people to be good, kind, and virtuous."

I was detained in jail for three months during which time they frequently beat me. Later, I was sent to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. The second day in the camp, we were forced to watch the staged Tiananmen Square Self-immolation video. After watching the video, I said, "This is staged! How could Liu Baorong be alright after drinking half a bottle of gasoline? Wang Jindong was burned over his whole body, so how could his hair remain intact? How could the little girl Liu Siying sing after having a tracheotomy? Isn't this an act to deceive people? The Chinese Communist Party is a veteran liar."

Police officers were very cruel to determined practitioners. Some practitioners were locked up in small cages in which one could not extend his arms and legs and then shocked with electric batons. Some were forced to kneel down for a long time, and some were beaten while suspended.

One day I learned that Teacher's new article had arrived. I wanted to read it, but was stopped by a police officer in his 30s. He forced me to kneel down to him. I refused and he became very angry and shocked me all over with an electric baton until I lost consciousness.

When I woke up, I found I was in a small room with horrible odors. I found out that it was the morgue. I shouted, "Help!" then lost consciousness again. Later, I learned that I had been unconscious in that small room for three and a half days. They were preparing to cremate me but stopped when they discovered that I was still breathing. They informed my family to come get me. They gave them 1,000 yuan and said, "Cremate him or bury him, it's your choice. It has nothing to do with us." Then they left.

I was on the verge of death and needed support from my wife and son just to stand up. Back home, at first I listened to Falun Dafa audiotapes and later resumed the exercises. My mind cleared very quickly. Through studying the Fa and doing the exercises, I gradually recovered. Now I can walk again with the aid of a cane.

Over two years have elapsed. I am writing down my experience in order to tell people that I am only following "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to be a good person, but I was almost killed by the CCP. It was Falun Dafa that gave me a second life. Kind people, please do not be fooled by the CCP's lies. Please remember, "Falun Dafa is good." Falun Dafa will bring you to an eternally bright future.

More Details about the Death of Mr. Lu Huizhong from Dandong City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 5, 2000, police from Branch No. 1 of the Public Security Bureau of Dandong City, Liaoning Province, abducted local Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Huizhong from his workplace. Mr. Lu was tortured to death around 3:00 a.m. the next day. His face was dark blue and his eyes remained wide open. Mr. Zhu Wenjie, Head of the Public Security Bureau of Dandong City even told Lu Huizhong's family, "I will be glad to face any lawsuit you wish to file against me. I will accept all the legal consequences should you win the lawsuit."

Mr. Lu Huizhong died at the age of 38. He was an employee at Dandong City First Department Store. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. After former President Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party banned Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the police arrested Mr. Lu after he stepped forward to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was illegally detained for 15 days and released. Then he continued to clarify the truth about Falun Gong.

On September 5, 2005, the police from Branch No. 1 of the Public Security Bureau in Dandong City showed up at Mr. Lu Huizhong's workplace and took him away. At around 7:00 p.m. that day, Mr. Lu's older brother went to visit him in detention and he was still alive and well then. But around 3:00 a.m. the next day, the police told Mr. Lu's family that Lu Huizhong had killed himself by jumping out of the building. When Mr. Lu's family asked the police about the details of his death, the police gave inconsistent answers, which exposed their lies. Lu Huizhong's family went to their superior at the Public Security Bureau in Dandong City, but they were met with a provocative reply from Zhu Wenjie, the Head of the Public Security Bureau, who said, "I will be glad to face any lawsuit you wish to file against me. I will accept all the legal consequences should you win the lawsuit."

To uphold justice for Lu Huizhong, his family talked to all the relevant legal organizations in Dandong City, including the Public Security Bureau, the city's Political and Legal Committee and the Prosecutor's Office. None of them were willing to uphold justice for Lu Huizhong. Finally, the family decided to hire an attorney to represent them, but no attorney had the courage to take the case, due to the Chinese Communist regime's announcement that no one must ever defend Falun Gong practitioners in court.

Mr. Lu's family tried for about 80 days to seek justice for Lu Huizhong, but no one would help them. Mrs. Lu was overcome with grief. She didn't want to leave her husband's body in the morgue any longer, so she finally decided to have a funeral and an autopsy before the cremation. According to the coroner, there were injuries on Mr. Lu's face and body, and his ribcage was fractured in three different places. A fractured rib penetrated Lu's heart, which caused his death. His thighbones were fractured in two different places. His face was dark blue and his eyes were wide open.

On the day of the cremation, Mrs. Lu didn't want to trouble her husband's fellow Falun Gong practitioners. She only invited one of her husband's co-workers who was a Falun Gong practitioner to attend the cremation. Because he was notified shortly before the cremation, he only had time to notify about 20 Falun Gong practitioners to pay Lu Huizhong their last respects at the funeral parlor. When the police saw so many Falun Gong practitioners appearing at the funeral parlor, they brought in a few police cars with armed policemen. The atmosphere was very tense and terrifying. But no one was intimidated. They paid their last respects silently and tranquilly.

Seven days after the cremation, Lu Huizhong's family followed the local Chinese custom and burned paper money to offer to Lu Huizhong's spirit. That day, about twenty of Lu Huizhong's family members went to Branch No. 1 of the Public Security Bureau in Dandong City and started burning the paper money in front of their building. The police came out to stop them and they began to argue. Lu Huizhong's family asked the police, "Why can't we burn the paper money here?" The police replied, "This is an office building. You must not burn paper money here." Lu Huizhong's family questioned, "You have illegally arrested Lu Huizhong and brought him here. He died mysteriously here. His spirit is still here. Of course we must offer him the paper money here. Where else will we be able to reach his spirit?!"

Meanwhile, Mrs. Lu explained in tears about her husband's wrongful death to any passerby who would listen. She said, "Lu Huizhong was a very kind man. He became an even better person after he started practicing Falun Gong. He did not violate any Chinese law, but the police abducted him and he died in police custody. We cannot file a lawsuit to uphold justice for him. How are my daughter and I to go on without him?" Lu Huizhong's daughter kept calling for her daddy during the paper money offering ritual. Many people were brought to tears when they witnessed the heartbreaking moment.

In order to prevent Lu Huizhong's family from burning paper money in front of the police department again on the 14th day and the 21st day following his cremation (which are known as the second 7th day and the third 7th day according to local Chinese custom), the police from Branch No. 1 of the Public Security Bureau in Dandong City dispatched a large number of officers to put all of Mr. Lu's family under house arrest on those two days. By silencing the family, they hoped to conceal their crimes against Lu Huizhong.

Shandong Province "Special Case Authority" Intensively Persecutes Practitioners from Shengli Oil Field (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) In Shandong Province, the "Special Case Authority" concentrates on persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Recently, 12 practitioners have been illegally detained from Shengli Oil Field.

The intensified persecution of practitioners from Shengli Oil Field began with the arrest of a local practitioner. Public Security Bureau police in Huantai County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, learned that this practitioner knew another practitioner in Lijin County, Dongying City. They quickly arrested the practitioner from Lijin County. This arrest led them to a practitioner who worked at the Shengli Oil Field, Mr. Zhang Aiquan. They placed Mr. Zhang under surveillance and illegally recorded personal conversations. Then, on May 13, 2005, they arrested Mr. Zhang Aiquan and abducted his wife, Wang Mingyuan, later that day. On May 20, Mr. Yu Desheng was arrested. The other practitioners from Shengli Oil Field that were abducted are: Zheng Ruihuan, Liu Yulan, Yang Jiangjun, An Yuzhi, Zhong Siping, Chen Xingrong, He Boqing, You Yunsheng, Zhou Baoshun, and Liang Yu.

All of these practitioners are decent, law-abiding citizens. The supposed reason for their arrest seems to be that they would greet each other and have a very brief chat when they met. That is how the persecutors rationalize arresting upright citizens. As these practitioners become acquainted with more people, the Special Case Authority arrests more people. The Authority has moved its offices into the Shengli Hotel at the oil field, in order to more easily arrest more Falun Gong practitioners in that area.

Dongyin City government is under the direct control of the Shandong Province Special Case Authority. Under the guise of local law enforcement, practitioners are secretly monitored by police cars that often cruise around their homes.

We call on the international community to express serious concern that a large-scale persecution in the Shengli Oil Field area will soon commence.

We also hope that the Special Case Authorities in Shandong Province who are persecuting practitioners will make the right choice to ensure a good future for themselves during this turning point in history.

Practitioner Couple Xin Changnian and Chen Jing Died Due to Persecution, Their Son was Given a Heavy Sentence

(Clearwisdom.net) Two Falun Dafa practitioners from Changchun City, Jilin Province, Mr. Xin Changnian and his wife, Ms. Chen Jing, died on June 5, 2004, and July 8, 2005, respectively from relentless persecution. In 2002, their son, Mr. Xin Wei, was sentenced to nine years in prison. He has suffered severe mental and physical torture in Jilin Prison.

Mr. Xin Changnian, 75 year old, and his wife Ms. Chen Jing, 68 year old, lived near the Second Avenue Christian Church in Changchun. They started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Before learning Falun Gong, Mr. Xin suffered from facial spasms, gastroptosis, and other ailments. Ms. Chen suffered from "Behçet's Syndrome," with lip cankers and other inflammations, and protrusion of the lumbar intervertebral discs. After they started practicing Falun Dafa, both of them became healthy again.

After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to suppress Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Mr. Xin's son, Mr. Xin Wei went to Beijing many times to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. The police frequently went to their home to harass them. Xin Wei was arrested many times. Mr. Xin and Ms. Chen were quite distressed. One summer night around 8 p.m., the couple was asleep; they didn't hear the policemen knocking on the door. The police climbed in through their window on the second floor, seriously frightening them.

On the evening of March 11, 2002, Mr. Xin Changnian and Mr. Xin Wei were arrested. Mr. Xin Changnian was released after two weeks of detention. His son Xin Wei was sentenced to the Second Prison of Jilin (also known as Jilin Prison) for nine years. In prison he was brutally tortured both mentally and physically. Not long ago, his eyes were struck during a beating and became bloodshot. In the Second Prison of Jilin, a few of the torture methods that the police use on the firm practitioners are: tying them up with ropes, stretch-torture, beating, forcing practitioners to sit motionless on a hard board, and sleep deprivation. The "stretch-torture" in particular can be very brutal. The tendons can tear after just ten minutes and the victims pass out from the excruciating pain. Practitioners who protest the persecution by going on a hunger strike are force-fed with a highly concentrated saline solution and are not allowed any water, or else they are subjected to the stretching torture.

On November 29, 2003, at around 9 p.m., the police from the Security Branch of the Changchun Police Department took Mr. Xin Changnian's daughter-in-law into custody for a number of days and waited in ambush at his son's house, in an attempt to arrest other Dafa practitioners. They ransacked the son's house once again. After they were finished, only Mr. Xin's grandson, a middle school student, was left at home. He was not allowed to go to school and had no one to take care of him.

After years of relentless persecution, Mr. Xin Changnian died on June 5, 2004, and Ms. Chen Jing died on July 28, 2005.

The Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp Forces Practitioners to Produce Artificial Butterflies for Export (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp not only tortures Falun Dafa practitioners using cruel means but has also forced them to do hard labor for 16 to 18 hours a day, fabricating artificial butterflies and birds for export and making large profits of foreign currency for the labor camp. The photos below are examples of the feather butterflies made by the Falun Dafa practitioners.

The white feathers used to make the butterflies are dyed different colors. Sometimes, the workload cannot be completed in time because the foul smell from the stored feathers causes nausea and headaches. The noxious feathers also cause rashes, itching, and swelling of the face, hands, and body.

In 2004, the second and fifth divisions of the labor camp brought in various colored feathers from different birds and forced Falun Dafa practitioners to make artificial birds. The dyes that came off the feathers had a very bad smell. After breathing in the dust from the dyed feathers, practitioners' spit turned red. The dust caused nausea, headaches and vomiting, and the practitioners' urine even had a slight red color. Because the butterflies were made for export and they feared being exposed, the authorities assigned practitioners to wrap the butterflies in small boxes. Only the large boxes were addressed. Practitioners were not allowed to pack the large boxes. When packing the small boxes, practitioners placed a piece of truth clarification material in nearly every box. Overseas practitioners and people with righteousness, please pay attention to these products. They are evidence of forced labor.

In the last six years, the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp of Changchun City has illegally detained several thousand Falun Dafa practitioners. It has employed inhumane and despicable means to torture determined practitioners, including: shocking them with 10,000 volt electric batons, sleep deprivation, allowing no bathroom time, no visitation from family members, and forbidding writing letters home or calling home.

Often, five or six people took turns punching and kicking practitioners. Practitioners were forced to watch videos and read books that slandered Falun Dafa. Some practitioners were locked in solitary confinement. Some were forced to sit on a small stool for 17 or 18 hours with a fixed posture. Many people's buttocks were sore and bleeding and their legs were paralyzed from sitting on the small stool.

Under the brutal torture of prison guards and the "collaborator"", some practitioners became mentally unstable, sick, disabled, or even died.

Seven Elderly People in Inner Mongolia, Henan, Heilongjiang and Jilin Provinces Died as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li Qing, 77 years old, was a retired worker in the Yuanbaoshan area of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. He was in poor health before he started the practice of Falun Gong, suffering from severe gastric disease, with lumps in his stomach. He had taken medicine for a long time. After Mr. Li started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, his health improved dramatically and he completely recovered. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, Mr. Li lost his cultivation environment, however, and his health deteriorated. At the end of September 2000, his practitioner daughter's home was ransacked by the authorities. This elderly man suffered both physically and mentally, and died on January 6, 2001.

Zhang Quanrong, 72 years old, lived in Baiting Village in Jiangcun Township, Fugou County, Henan Province. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. After July 20, 1999, 610 Office personnel, along with police from his local police station and the local village government employees harassed him on many occasions to try to get him to stop his practice. He suffered tremendously both mentally and physically from the persecution and died in March 2001.

Mr. Wen Guoqing, 64 years old, lived in Qing'an County, Heilongjiang Province. His wife also practices Falun Gong. Government personnel harassed his family frequently and also extorted money from them and intimidated them. He suffered both in body and mind. He also saw his wife arrested on numerous occasions. Under the huge mental pressure of this persecution, Mr. Wen died in March 2001.

Ms. Ou Xiangyuan, 55 years old, lived at Farm Number 852 in Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province. At the end of 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. When she was passing through Shanhaiguan City, Ms. Ou was illegally arrested and persecuted by police officers who snarled at her, saying, "Look, killing you is the same as killing a warehouse mouse!" Ms. Ou was detained and sent to the Harbin Provincial Hospital, where her personal freedom was limited under the guise of "treatment." She died on April 23, 2001.

Mr. Zhang Lianmao, 65 years old, lived in the Shuangyashan Mine in Heilongjiang Province. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1997 and enjoyed good health. After July 20, 1999, mine officials took Mr. Zhang from his home to an office, where they threatened to reduce his wages and cut off the income he needed to survive. Due to frequent harassment by these people, Zhang Lianmao died on October 12, 2000.

Ms. Wang Shulan, 66 years old, was a resident of Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. Before July 20, 1999, when she studied Dafa and did the exercises every day, she was very healthy and full of energy. After the persecution of Falun Gong started, she did the exercises secretly and studied the Fa only at home. Ms. Wang became very anxious under these circumstances and died in June 2005.

Ms. Zhou Yueqiu was a resident of Siping City, Jilin Province. She suffered severe diabetes before practicing Falun Gong. After starting to practice, she regained her good health. This elderly woman had lived on her own, but after the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she could no longer do so and moved to her son's home. On December 6, 2004, the police suddenly came and pounded on her door. The tremendous fright from this intrusion caused an illness that eventually led to Ms. Zhou's death on April 19, 2005.

Five Senior Citizens in Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Shandong Provinces Die after Suffering Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Chen Shuxian, 64 years old, was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Hutoushi Village, Daoerdeng Township, Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. She learned about Dafa and started practicing in 1997. After the persecution started, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999. In October 1999, Ms. Chen went to Beijing to appeal again. She was brought back by the police and sentenced to a labor camp for two years. She was detained and persecuted in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. After Chen Shuxian returned home, personnel from various government offices harassed her many times. Ms. Chen died in May 2004.

Ms. Xuan Yajie, 75 years old, was a practitioner in Bainiuqun Village, Yangzhangzi Township, Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, her son and daughter, who are also practitioners, went out to tell people the truth about Dafa. The police abducted and persecuted them, bringing about enormous mental anguish to Xuan Yajie. She passed away in October 2000.

Ms. Guo Xiangzhen, 83 years old, was from Boli County, Heilongjiang Province. She began to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. Before practicing, she suffered from serious cardiovascular disease and many other illnesses. After she began practicing, all her diseases disappeared. In 2002, government personnel abducted Ms. Guo's practitioner son and daughter-in-law, persecuting them brutally. They also began to harass her family on a regular basis. Frightened and under great mental stress, Ms. Guo died in November 2003.

Mr. Jiangzhen, 72 years old, was a practitioner in Dalvquan Village, Guliu District, Laiyang City. After July 20, 1999, he was harassed and threatened many times by government personnel. Mr. Jiangzhen passed away on May 11, 2002.

Ms. Zhang Yuxian was 77 years old. She suffered from many kinds of diseases before starting to practice Falun Dafa. Her health was restored after she took up the practice in 1997. At that time, she told everyone she met about the goodness of Dafa and advised them to learn the practice. After the evil persecution was launched in July 1999, government personnel abducted her family members, also Dafa practitioners, and started dropping in unexpectedly to harass her. As a result, she suffered greatly, both mentally and physically, and her old diseases recurred. Ms. Zhang died on February 14, 2005.

On January 8, 2004, close to four thousand Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan lined up and formed the Chinese characters "Fa Rectification" and the words "Falun Dafa."

A Moment in Time, Eternal Significance

The "Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa" photo exhibition was first presented to the public at the Taibei Municipal Social Education Hall. >From September 3 to 11, 2005, it was once again shown at the Taibei Municipal Library. This exhibit included 140 photographs, which recorded many precious and significant moments for history. The pictures showed how Falun Dafa practitioners carried on their truth clarification efforts and how difficult the path of Fa-rectification was. It presented the Fa's compassion and beauty and showed how the Fa had brought harmony to people. It told people the principle that "good will be rewarded with good and evil will meet with retribution."

At the exhibition's opening, Zhang Qingxi, the chairman of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, said that the exhibit was to show people how Falun Dafa practitioners have endured the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution to persistently clarify the truth to people and to present the beauty of Falun Gong to the whole world.

Chen Xiuhui, the deputy secretary of the General Culture Committee, pointed out that these extraordinary photos documenting Falun Gong practitioners' parades and their exercise demonstrations were really touching and could deeply move people. Seeing so many practitioners bring their young children to participate in Falun Gong activities made her feel that Falun Gong is a simple yet righteous culture that was very important for children's development. She also hoped that the exhibit would help the world learn the facts of how the CCP has been brutally persecuting Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners.

The exhibit's sponsor explained that Falun Dafa has been widely spread for 13 years, enduring many hardships. The photos tell the stories of how the teacher of Falun Gong has protected practitioners and of how the practitioners have been braving tribulations and difficulties. The exhibit is a powerful tool to help the public know about the persecution of Falun Gong. It will be a witness to Falun Gong's history.

After she visited the exhibit, Yuan Meimin, the deputy director of the Taibei Municipal Library, said she believed that Falun Gong could help purify people's minds and hearts at a time when social and moral standards are low and society is in disorder. She expected that the exhibit would generate a great deal of positive feedback.

Guan Biling, a legislative member of Congress, wasn't able to visit the exhibit herself. She sent Mr. Jiang, one of her assistants, to attend the exhibit opening and pass on her congratulations. Mr. Jiang said that the photos displayed the facts and recorded the events for the historical record. He believed that Falun Gong would help spread the essence of the true traditional Chinese culture.

Mr. Xie Tian, the deputy CEO of the Epoch Times, a worldwide newspaper, attended the opening ceremony. He said that it was truly a historic trend when one hundred million people tried to follow the principles of Truth, Compassion, Forbearance in an effort to be good people when the social and moral standards were sliding down. He commented that photos could only record what happened at that particular moment, but the spirit of Falun Gong's great compassion and forbearance would live forever.

Righteous Thoughts and Energy Field

A young college student felt a strong energy as soon as he stepped into the exhibit hall. A practitioner went to chat with the student after he had finished looking at all the photos. The practitioner explained why the exhibit was being held. That student put his hands close to one of the photos that showed a Falun and practitioners doing the exercises together and forming characters. He said that he had started to learn qigong when he was in middle school. He felt a strong energy field in the exhibit hall. The exhibit guide told him how she had benefited from practicing Falun Gong and reading the book Zhuan Falun. The student took a lot of informational materials and said that he would read them carefully.

A Falun Dafa exercise practice site was full of righteous thoughts and energy, which could correct abnormalities. The picture on the left was taken in Singapore in 2000. The picture on the right was taken in New York, also in 2000, when practitioners were practicing the Falun Gong exercises.

Exhibition Visitors Condemned the CCP's Persecution of Falun Gong

Many people gave positive comments after they saw the photos. There was a photo showing the SOS call for urgent help for the Falun Gong practitioners in China, a global activity initiated by practitioners living outside of China in July 2001. When a person learned that it was to help call for an end of the torture and killing of Falun Gong practitioners, he was deeply moved, and was also shocked by the CCP's and former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin's cruelty. He kept asking, "Are there still [Falun Gong practitioners] being killed?"

When many people learned that the police at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp at Shenyang in Liaoning Province had stripped the clothes off of 18 female practitioners and thrown them into the cells of male criminals, they were very angry and commented, "They are inhumane. They are even worse than animals. Those malicious people should be brought to justice."

More and More People Have Learned the Truth

Three older people came to the exhibit together. Two of them were generals. They stopped by the exhibit after attending other activities nearby. They got very angry when they saw the demonstrations of the tortures that the CCP is imposing on Falun Gong practitioners. They said that they used to be persecuted and deceived by the CCP's hate propaganda. Later, they followed the Nationalist Party of China (Kuomintang) to Taiwan. They encouraged the practitioners to be persistent, and they said that practitioners were bound to succeed.

A businessman from Taiwan, who often does construction business with China and Eastern European countries, saw the exhibit. When he saw the pictures of how the CCP had been persecuting Falun Gong, he said, "The CCP is just like this. You need to question all that their media reports. If their media says that something is bad, that thing could actually be very good. I think the so-called Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation was done by the CCP and was to frame Falun Gong. Tiananmen Square is very big, yet the so-called self-immolation was so clearly recorded. It was obviously made by the CCP to deceive people."

There were always people stopping by the Materials Help Desk, asking for truth-clarification materials.

All of these pictures, whether bright and peaceful or magnificent and compassionate, truly recorded how the Falun Gong practitioners have validated the Fa and how beautiful Falun Gong is. The exhibit will be shown in all Taiwanese provinces and nearby islands.

United Kingdom: Former Senior Diplomat Expresses Support for the Falun Gong Practitioners' Appeal outside the Singaporean Embassy (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 27, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Huang Caihua and Ms. Cheng Lujin were found guilty by a Singapore court of peacefully practicing Falun Gong and giving out Video-CDs. The VCDs contained information about Falun Gong and the persecution against the practice in China.

The practitioners were ordered to pay a large fine and were put into prison. Ms. Huang and Ms. Cheng decided to appeal against the unjust verdict. The Singapore High Court will hear the case on October 20th.

Peaceful appeal in front of Singaporean Embassy in the UK

The Singapore government's action, which closely followed the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, attracted worldwide protest from Falun Gong practitioners. Since April 2005, UK Falun Gong practitioners have peacefully appealed outside the Singapore Embassy every working day, calling on the Singapore Government not to appease the Chinese Communist regime.

After discovering that the Singapore High Court is to hear the appeal by the two women, former senior diplomat Lord Thurlow also came to the Singapore Embassy. He said, "I am very unhappy about this case. I am also angry. The two ladies only gave out information to people who wanted to learn the truth about Falun Gong at a location where they have practiced Falun Gong for many years. They were exercising their citizen's rights. Falun Gong is not a religion. It is a cultivation method that could help Chinese people to restore their cultivation tradition destroyed during the Great Cultural Revolution."

Lord Thurlow continued, "Singapore calls itself a democratic society ruled by law. Singapore is recognized by the world community as a responsible member and is respected for its emphasis on the rule of law. But under pressure from the Chinese Communist regime, the Singaporean Government and its courts are facing the shame of ignoring its citizen's rights to freedom." Lord Thurlow went on to reveal that he regards the hearing in the High Court as an "opportunity for Singapore to restore its reputation."

Ms. Wang, a Falun Gong practitioner, said, "In July this year, I met a Singaporean mother and daughter who were visiting the UK as tourists. They saw our banners here and were very shocked. They came to ask me why I was sitting here. I told them the reason. They shook their heads and were very disappointed in their government. After obtaining my permission, they took photos of me and the banners, saying that they wanted to take them back to show to their relatives and friends. I would like to say something to the Singapore Government: if you are representing the people's will, then listen to the voice of the Singaporean people."

Background information

On February 23, 2003, Falun Gong practitioners Huang Caihua and Cheng Lujin practiced the Falun Gong exercises at Esplanade Park and clarified the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China to tourists. In May 2004, police charged them with "Assembly without a Permit" and "Possession and Distribution of VCDs without a Certificate".

After nearly a year of legal procedures, on April 27, 2005, a Singaporean court delivered an unjust verdict against Huang Caihua and Cheng Lujin. They were fined 20,000 and 24,000 Singapore dollars respectively. The two practitioners insisted that they were innocent, refused to accept the verdict and expressed their wish to appeal. They were then sent to Singapore's Changi Women's Prison on the same day, with a possible jail term of twenty-four weeks.

The request by Cheng Lujin to feed her six-month-old baby in the prison was refused. To protest the unjust verdict by the court, she started a hunger strike as soon as she was put in jail. Three days later, Ms. Huang also joined the hunger strike.

On the afternoon of May 3^rd, the two practitioners were released after their families paid the fines. At that time, they had already been on the hunger strike for seven and four days respectively. The next afternoon, May 4^th, the two practitioners and the Singapore Falun Gong Association organized a press conference detailing the reason for their hunger strike, their treatment in the prison, how they were released and their plans for the future. They appealed to the local media to treat Falun Gong with fairness.

India: Falun Gong Workshops Held in Chennai (Madras) - Each Is Filled to Capacity (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) An Indian practitioner from Chennai (formerly known as Madras), India learned Falun Dafa in the USA when he started his graduate program there. He recently visited his family in Madras for a month and used his free time to spread Dafa through introductory workshops.

Local people were surprised to learn that the practitioner taught such a wonderful practice for free. Some went to the workshop by taking a 4-1/2 hour train ride. Someone provided their office for the workshop.

People come to learn Falun Gong

The practitioner placed a few classified ads and also managed to have the information about Falun Gong and the workshops placed as articles in some major newspapers. There was a lot of response to the ads and articles, and the final few Falun Gong workshops were packed. It is estimated that around 100 people from came to the four introductory workshops and review session in Chennai and learned Dafa there.

This practitioner felt that he had a predestined relationship with the people in the city in which he was born, and he felt he had to let more people in the city learn Falun Dafa during his visit. Many of the people who learned the practice during the workshops seemed to be predestined people.

One woman bought the book China Falun Gong 6 or 7 years ago and had read it, but had been waiting for someone to teach her the exercises! One man came from Cuddalore, a city that is at least 4-1/2 hours by train from Chennai (one-way) just to learn the exercises. One person, upon learning that Falun Gong was taught for free, volunteered the use of his office for the first workshop.

At the end of each workshop, several people came to the practitioner and excitedly shook his hand and thanked him for introducing the practice to them. Several of them said, "You are doing such a great social service by spreading this practice! In this age when people are charging 500 Rupees (Indian currency) for the simplest meditation techniques, you are teaching such a wonderful practice for free!?"

The practitioner explained to them that the practice was meant to be taught for free and that all the information and books could also be downloaded for free from the website at www.falundafa.org. Several of the participants planned to download or purchase China Falun Gong and Zhuan Falun and keep practicing Falun Gong.

Some of the students had heard about the persecution of Falun Gong and expressed concern about the situation in China.

France: Open Air Concert Held in Paris During the Mid-Autumn Festival to Rescue Orphaned Children of Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) An old Chinese saying goes, "On festive occasions more than ever one thinks of one's dear ones far away." On September 18, 2005, under the clear autumn sky, the air was crisp and the sun was shining. Falun Gong practitioners in Paris held a benefit performance and signature-gathering activity in the renowned Human Rights Square in Paris to draw support for rescuing orphans of Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted to death in China, and to express overseas Falun Gong practitioners' greetings and best wishes to the practitioners in Mainland China. By doing so, they hoped to put an end to this brutal persecution.

As tourists from all over the world came to the plaza in droves, our activities drew much attention amidst the hustle and bustle. Many tourists listened to flute recitals, watched a "Fairy Dance" and singing performances, as well as demonstrations of the Falun Gong exercises. Many stopped to appreciate our performances.

Falun Gong practitioners took advantage of this opportunity to display the magnificence of Falun Gong to the public with artistic performances, and to expose the inhumane persecution against good people who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" that has now lasted for six years. Not only has this persecution led to the death of nearly three thousand practitioners, but it also has caused many children to become homeless, be forced to drop out of school and even become orphans.

Signing to oppose the persecution

Upon learning that the objective of the benefit performance was to rescue the innocent orphans of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death in China, many people asked for more information and signed the petition to support Falun Gong. Many children also signed their names on the petition in a sincere manner after hearing explanations from their parents. In the meantime, many tourists, including children, folded paper lotus flowers together with Falun Gong practitioners to express their wishes that Falun Gong practitioners would regain their freedom of belief.

A Chinese man who works overseas said, "We can't find out anything in China. This is the first time that I have come to understand Falun Gong." Later on, he talked to Falun Gong practitioners for over an hour. An overseas Chinese person who has lived in France for over twenty years also watched our performances for several hours. After learning that our campaign was for the rescue of Falun Gong orphans, one French person suggested that we explain the facts of Falun Gong to more French organizations for children so as to get more support. A French boy asked, "I am a Buddhist, and I heard that Falun Gong is very good. Can I be a practitioner as well?" One woman started to learn the exercises on the spot upon seeing our demonstration.

At the end of the event, an original song written by practitioners entitled, "Coming for You" was sung earnestly with heartfelt feeling to convey the hopes of Falun Gong practitioners: In order to help people understand the facts of the persecution against Falun Gong and realize that Falun Gong is good, we are willing to come for you from afar time and again.

New York: "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" Art Exhibition Invited to Human Rights Week at Touro Law Center (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," an international art exhibition, was opened at the Touro Law Center in Huntington, New York under special invitation from September 19-22, 2005.

Dozens of guests, including the dean and professors of the Touro Law Center, attended the opening ceremony jointly held by the Falun Dafa Art Center and the Touro Law Center on the afternoon of September 19. More than ten government officials, including congressmen and a state senator issued awards to the exhibition.

The exhibition, composed of more than forty pieces of artwork, was held in the Conference Hall of the law center. Illuminated with soft light, the conference hall is more than ten thousand square feet. The exhibition was organized according to four different themes. The first part of the exhibition was entitled, "Assimilating to the Fa and Returning to the Origin." The second part was "Eternal Righteous Belief Testified by Lives." The third part focused on "Spreading the Truth and Calling for Justice," and the fourth part was entitled, "Good is Rewarded, Evil Provokes Retribution."

Ms. Levine, a resident of Huntington, told of the benefits she experienced from practicing Falun Gong at the opening ceremony. Mr. Zhang Erping, spokesperson for the Falun Dafa Information Center, introduced the history of Falun Dafa over the past thirteen years and its wide spread to one hundred million people in more than seventy countries and regions. Several of the exhibition's artists related their personal experiences of persecution and the inspirations for their artwork. Through their art, they hope to expose the largest genocide in recent history, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners during the past six years and still ongoing. They wish to awaken peoples' conscience and to solemnly declare, "Good is rewarded, and evil provokes retribution. A righteous belief is eternal."

Ms. Mela, organizer of the art exhibition, said that several teachers and students from the Touro Law Center had visited the exhibition held in the Federal Building in Manhattan in July. They were so touched that they wanted to bring the artwork to their school. The week of September 19 is Human Rights Week. An art exhibition depicting Falun Gong practitioners' unyielding spirit despite six years of brutal persecution has brought Human Rights Week to life. She hoped that faculty and students of Touro Law Center as well as local residents would take this opportunity to learn about the persecution and collectively help stop the brutality.

Many students, faculty and staff members visited the exhibition. The dean told reporters, "We thank the organizer for bringing such wonderful artwork here!" Many visitors signed the signature album.

Finland: Falun Gong Receives a Warm Welcome in Jyvaskyla (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 2 and 3, 2005, Falun Gong was introduced at a health fair in Jyvaskyla, Finland. Around one thousand people visited the fair. Practitioners from Tampere, Turku, Kemi and Jyväskylä took part in this activity.

Students who had just moved to Jyväskylä showed particular interest in Falun Gong. When they finished reading our leaflet, their questions were all about how to get more information about Falun Gong and where to find a local practice site. One gentleman said, "Everybody should practice Falun Gong so as to attain a peaceful and tranquil mind."

At our stall, people could sign their names to help end the persecution in China. Even though we mostly concentrated on demonstrating the five Falun Gong exercises, people still showed great concern for Falun Gong practitioners in China who are suffering terrible human rights abuses at the hands of the Communist Party.

This kind of event gives us many opportunities to let people learn more about Falun Gong and about the situation in China. Even if people do not take up the practice, this still gives us many opportunities to answer questions people may have about Falun Gong. If people can learn the truth, they will be able to see through the lies of the communist regime in China. People will understand that the Chinese Communist Party has chosen to persecute the most peaceful and innocent group of people in a most evil and inhuman way.

Australia: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Ryde Aquatic Festival for Sixth Year in a Row (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 18, 2005, the Ryde Aquatic Festival was held in Ryde, Australia. Falun Gong practitioners took part in the activity for the sixth year in a row. Different from previous years, this year, practitioners wearing shirts with the words, "Falun Dafa" took part in a long-distance run. Falun Gong practitioners' stall

The host of the activity had an opportunity to get in contact with practitioners, and gained a deeper understanding about Falun Dafa. As a result, he became a supporter of Falun Dafa. In the afternoon, the host spoke to the festival visitors through a microphone, explaining that Falun Gong is a cultivation method that encourages people to guide their lives by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and obtain physical and mental well being. He said that the Falun Gong practitioners he was acquainted with were all righteous and good people, but in China, the Chinese Communist Party is still persecuting Falun Gong. The host urged everyone to please go to the Falun Gong stall to learn the truth of Falun Gong.

Several city councilors made a special point to come to the stall and had a conversation with practitioners, to learn about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. A councilor proposed that practitioners participate in the dragon-boat contest to be held next year.

A former councilor talked with a Falun Gong practitioner for two hours. She proposed that this practitioner run for the post of city councilor, in order to bring the peaceful and harmonious principles of Falun Gong to the people of Ryde.

Children learn to practice the exercises

Before the conclusion of the activity, three children of eight or nine years of age came to learn the Falun Gong exercises. After practicing the exercises, one of the children said he felt very comfortable. When their mother saw her kids peacefully doing the sitting meditation, she also came to the stall to take some informational materials. She told the practitioners that she would bring her children again to learn the exercises.

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 18, 2005, a celebration for the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival was held in Zaociao, Miaoli County, Taiwan. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to give a waist drum performance, and more than 100 practitioners participated in the event. Some held banners reading, "Falun Dafa is Good," and "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance," while the rest played waist drums to the accompaniment of the song, "Falun Dafa is Good." Their procession through the streets and lanes attracted more than 5,000 residents from three villages.

The hosting organization arranged for the police to drive in front of the practitioners' procession. Spectators were very pleased to see such a large-scale performance and applauded warmly. After arriving at the designated performance site, the practitioners performed again. After the party, the host organization expressed appreciation to the practitioners for their participation in the event and hoped they would attend future events.

Hartford Courant, United States: Court In City Hears Falun Gong Torture Suit (Excerpt)

A packed Hartford federal courtroom Thursday became a forum on human rights, torture and free speech as an extraordinary hearing unfolded about events taking place 7,000 miles away in the People's Republic of China.

The federal lawsuit in question pits practitioners of Falun Gong - a spiritual movement banned in China - against a prominent Chinese journalist they accuse of promoting the persecution and torture of Falun Gong followers.

How it came to play out in the courtroom of U.S. District Chief Judge Robert N. Chatigny is as intriguing as the lawsuit itself. So many Chinese and Chinese Americans - many from Boston, New York and New Jersey and some from Washington - thronged the courthouse that admission to the courtroom had to be halted when all the seats were filled, leaving dozens waiting outside to learn what transpired.

Zhao Zhizhen is a prominent producer of science programs, former chief of the leading radio and television stations in Wuhan and a member of the Anti-[slanderous word omitted] Association of China. The plaintiffs in the lawsuit, represented by the Washington-based Human Rights Law Project, claim that, through broadcasts and websites, Zhao has advocated the arrest, torture and killing of Falun Gong practitioners.

The lawsuit was brought under two federal laws - the Torture Victims Protection Act and Alien Tort Claims Act, which permit civil actions to be filed for acts of torture committed abroad against U.S. citizens or citizens of other nations. The lead plaintiff is Chen Gang, a New Jersey systems analyst who claims he was imprisoned in a Chinese labor camp in 2000 and tortured for 18 months because of his devotion to Falun Gong.

The lawsuit was served on Zhao in 2004 in New Haven, where he was attending his daughter's graduation from a Yale master's program. Thursday's hearing was on Zhao's motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

Human rights attorney Terri E. Marsh said Zhao is "intricately linked to a campaign of genocide and torture."

Marsh said Zhao is one of the founders of the website operated by the Anti-[slanderous word omitted] Association of China, which includes language "that calls directly for the eradication of Falun Gong." He quoted some of the messages as saying "Shoot them once they're confirmed" and "Beat them like road rats."

A Suggestion for Dafa Practitioners: Spend More Time Studying the Fa and Articles with Master's Comments
A Sharing with Fellow Dafa Practitioners in the Meizhou Area Regarding the Persecution of Mr. Zhu Xiansheng

(Clearwisdom.net) The following are facts about the persecution of Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhu Xiansheng and Ms. Li Xiufang, a couple living in Chengjiang Town, Mei County, Guangdong Province.

At the end of May 2005, when Ms. Li was doing housework, persons from the Mei County 610 Office and the Chengjiang Town Police Department came by. They besieged her home for several hours. Finally, they pried open the door and arrested Ms. Li, taking her to a brainwashing center. Two months later, Ms. Li escaped from the brainwashing center by means of her righteous thoughts. From then on, she was forced to stay away from her home to avoid being arrested again and persecuted further.

On August 19, 610 Office personnel, together with the police (for a total of twenty to thirty people), broke into Mr. Zhu's home and searched everywhere. Mr. Zhu Xiansheng escaped using his wisdom. Since then he has also been forced to stay away from his home. Only his daughter and elderly mother are left at home, depending on each other for comfort and support. The persecution thus broke up a once happy family.

Many practitioners are puzzled as to why the evil forces in the Meizhou area have been repetitively and frenziedly persecuting Dafa practitioners, and they wonder why the authorities are still so vicious. I feel that the local practitioners really need to calm down and study Master's commentary written on September 1, ("Shed the Human Mindset" http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2005/9/2/64536.html) as well as the article that Master commented on ("A Dangerous Phenomenon That Calls for Our Attention"). In fact, this dangerous trend is very serious among practitioners.

The persecution of Mr. Zhu was, to a certain degree, caused by the mentality of the local Dafa practitioners as a whole. When Ms. Li was arrested for further persecution, fellow practitioners failed to send more righteous thoughts to stop the persecution, and they instead spread some hearsay. What a big loophole that was! It constituted an excuse that could be used to initiate the persecution. It also caused a great estrangement from the Fa-validation by Dafa practitioners as a whole.

After the news that Meizhou area Dafa practitioners were being severely persecuted was repetitively exposed on the Internet, it caught the attention of Dafa practitioners in other regions, who then went to Meizhou in succession to send forth righteous thoughts in close proximity, to eliminate the evil factors in Meizhou. They did this to help create a good environment for the cooperation of Meizhou practitioners as one body. However, many of the local practitioners thought that as the situation was very tense, the work of clarifying the truth and saving people should be put on hold temporally. They thought they could resume after the situation turned better. This mentality again gave the evil in that area the opportunity to energize itself. In fact, these "tense situations" have all resulted from the fact that the practitioners have not studied the Fa solidly. We, of course, do not acknowledge the old cosmic forces' arrangements and we completely negate their persecution. However, we need to remember that Master has, in turn, used the old forces' arrangements to temper Dafa practitioners as we walk toward godhood. This kind of environment is hard to obtain and is one that we are fortunate to obtain. There will be no more after this one.

Amidst the tribulations, Dafa practitioners need to understand the Fa and know how to walk their path well. With our failing to cultivate ourselves according to the Fa and by just enduring the persecution, we cannot cultivate to a higher level. Looking back at this period of time, we have realized that the more frenzied the evil becomes, the less time there is left for Dafa practitioners to validate the Fa and save people.

"This instant is precious beyond measure. Completing the last leg of this journey well is what's most magnificent." ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Chicago" in 2005)

"The fact is, those who can't step forward, regardless of the excuse, are concealing fear. Yet for cultivators, fear or lack thereof proves [one's] humanity or divinity, and it is what differentiates cultivators from ordinary people. It is something that a cultivator must face, and the biggest human attachment that a cultivator must remove." (from Master's comments, "Study the Fa Well, and Getting Rid of Attachments is Not Hard" on the article, "The Only Thing Falun Dafa Disciples Have a Role in Is Saving People")

Dafa practitioners really need to catch this fleeting opportunity that only comes around in thousands of years. We need to study the Fa with calm minds, increase our efforts of clarifying the truth and saving people, and not give the evil the chance to rest. This is also the biggest support we can provide for the practitioners who are being persecuted.

Get Rid of the Human Mentality by Strengthening Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) Everything in this human world looks quite complicated and full of temptations. Ordinary people, driven by the human mentality, are busy with all sorts of things in order to live a better life. Falun Dafa practitioners, however, should be clear and realize that everything in this world is arranged for the Fa-rectification. Amidst the "complexity and temptations," we should focus on Fa-rectification. Otherwise we cannot escape the illusion of "complexity and temptations" and see the right direction clearly.

I realize that I myself have the same human mentality and it is undermining the firmness of my belief in Fa-rectification. I also see that, while doing Fa-rectification work, my attachment of pursuit is still strong. At times the evil forces try to drag me toward human attachments by taking advantage of the human mentalities that I haven't given up. The more I want to get rid of them, the closer they chase after me. Superficially, this is a test to see whether I can resist the "temptations and human attachments." Fundamentally, it is an attempt to shake my belief in Fa-rectification and my righteous thoughts in saving sentient beings. Ignore the "human mentality" that looks complex and exists everywhere, because "human mentality" constrains humans. What I do is to maintain the righteous thoughts of assisting Master in Fa-rectification and saving sentient beings. In this way, I suddenly understand more about "attaining naturally without pursuit" and "letting go."

The human mentality must be given up in our cultivation practice during the Fa-rectification period. Only when we are able to escape from the restraints of the human mentality and the human heart and melt into the Fa and Fa-rectification can we do well the things that Falun Dafa practitioners are called upon to do. In this way, we are able to eliminate all interference. In other words, we have unconsciously rid ourselves of the human mentality. We should get rid of the human mentality through validating the Fa unshakably and offering salvation to all sentient beings.

This is my personal understanding. If there is any mistake, please kindly point it out.

A New Practitioner's Understanding of Doing the Exercises and Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) I cannot achieve a tranquil mind during practice or when sending forth righteous thoughts. It is like what Master said,

"'Once I settle down, I'll think of everything, including odd thoughts and ideas.' It is like overturning rivers and seas with everything surfacing, and one cannot attain tranquility whatsoever." (Zhuan Falun)

Maybe some fellow practitioners have had similar experiences. I know that it is not easy to achieve a tranquil mind. It can only be achieved after long-time study of the Fa and cultivation of xinxing. However, we should not use it as an excuse by saying, "I haven't studied enough of the Fa. I will improve slowly." We should not lower the standard. Instead, we should always be strict with ourselves. I would like to share some of my own experiences on this topic.

When I send forth righteous thoughts, I always remind myself to "be tranquil." Once I realize that I have odd thoughts in my mind, I remind myself to "be tranquil" even though it only lasts for 20 or 30 seconds. I become tranquil for 20 seconds or 30 seconds. I keep reminding myself. I feel that at the moment when I enter tranquility, my right palm becomes numb. When I am deep in tranquility, my palm feels even more numb. Although I cannot see the energy with my eyes, at that moment I feel strong energy being sent out from my palm to eliminate the evil in other dimensions. The more tranquil I become, the more numb I feel, which I believe means stronger energy has been released and a better effect has been achieved. Therefore I keep reminding myself to "be tranquil" while sending forth righteous thoughts so as to achieve a better effect.

While meditating, there are overturning rivers and seas in my mind too. As in sending forth righteous thoughts, I keep reminding myself to "be tranquil" as well, to achieve a better effect. I think it is better to recite the Fa than to have all those odd ideas or to become absent-minded. So when I cannot achieve tranquility, I may recite Lunyu or poems from Hong Yin.

Reference Material: Mr. Hao Fengjun Talks about the CCP's VIP Welcoming Shows

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 12, 2005 in Sydney, a forum about the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" entitled, "China is at a crossroads, and so is Hu Jintao," was hosted by the Epoch Times newspaper. At the forum, Mr. Hao Fengjun, former Class I Police Superintendent of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), talked about shows that the CCP stages to welcome its leaders. Mr. Hao also said, "If Hu Jintao sticks to the ways of the CCP, he will be headed for destruction."

Regarding Hu's recent trip to North America, some media outlets reported that the CCP hired Chinese students and other people overseas to form a welcoming crowd for Hu and the Chinese delegation. Mr. Hao commented that he did not know about the situation overseas as much as Mr. Chen Yonglin [a former Chinese diplomat in Sydney who recently defected to Australia], yet he had some similar experiences when he was in China. The CCP has always created scenes showing that people "support and welcome" their leaders and the party. In fact, the leaders of the CCP are afraid to get in touch with the people. Lower ranking officials try to please their superiors by creating a false "warm welcome" and deceiving everyone.

Emptying the Street, Police Play the Role of Residents

Mr. Hao said, "Leaders of the CCP are protected at different levels by the police when they go to visit any place. For example, members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau are protected at Level I, which is the highest level of protection; members of the Political Bureau are protected at Level II. Level I protection involves emptying all the streets, ordering residents occupying buildings along the designated streets to close all windows (if windows are opened, the police will not be responsible for any consequences), and on top of the buildings, snipers are placed."

Mr. Hao said that he participated in the protection of Hu Jintao between 1995 and 1996. At that time, Hu was the Vice Chairman of the CCP and he was visiting Tianjin City on an inspection trip of the city's police force. Hu was the Secretary of the Central Secretariat and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau. He was also the leader of the next generation appointed directly by Deng Xiaoping. Because Hu was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, he was protected at Level I. Mr. Hao was a criminal police staff member and he was responsible for protecting Hu when Hu was in his city. The local police stations were protecting him on the periphery, and traffic patrol police were further outside.

Hu Jintao went to a wealthy community named Xiangcuili to visit the "residents" there. The "residents" whom Hu visited were relatives of the Governor of Heping District. Mr. Hao and his colleagues were protecting Hu right next to him. He recalled, "Hu was walking in the front, and we followed him. I saw many people waving to Hu on the both sides of the street. They were mostly between 40 and 50 years old, with some older ladies. I was surprised to find that those people were all veteran police staff members that I knew, and they were not from the community. Because I knew them, I asked one of them, "Hi, How come you are here too?" He replied, "Oh, we were told to come here to welcome Hu." I asked him again, "Do you live here?" He said, "No way, do you think I've got the kind of money to live here?" Mr. Hao concluded to the audience at the forum that such phenomena are prevalent in China.

Director of the Community Committee Sold Pork at a Much Cheaper Price In Order to Please the Superiors

Mr. Hao related an anecdote during Hu Jintao's visit to Tianjin City. Near the residential area Hu visited, there was a farmer's market. Hu went to visit the market, which was not completely closed, and some people were buying vegetables there. A director of the community committee acted as an ordinary merchant and talked with Hu. The director of the community said, "Our pork price is really reasonable, and it's only about 2 yuan a pound." At the time, the pork price in Tianjin City was about 7 yuan a pound. Upon hearing that, many people gathered around the pork vendor and wanted to buy the cheap pork, asking for 1 or 2 dozen pounds. Mr. Hao was there at the time. When they discovered the crowd, it had become too big for them to dissipate. Hu only stayed there for about half a minute. After he left, the local police asked all the residents who bought the cheap pork to return the pork to the vendor. The "2 yuan a pound" was only a show for Hu.

Leaders of the CCP Dare Not Get Close to the Common People

Mr. Hao continued to say that when former U.S. President Bill Clinton visited Xian City in China, he walked outside the protected area [the area protected by the Chinese police]. He was not surrounded by CIA agents, and he walked to the crowd of people and picked up a child and held the child in his arms. The incident was used as a case study for the police force.

Mr. Hao added that especially in the U.S. and Canada, which are democratic countries, leaders of the government will not be attacked when they meet and listen to those who disagree with them. The situation in which the leader of a country requires the complete silencing of differing voices around him or her could only exist in the CCP. In China, even the mayor of Tianjin City dares not stand among the average people, or people would throw bricks at him since many of them have lost their jobs or were victims of local corruption.

Officials from Department No. 2 of Headquarters of the General Staff of the CCPLA (Chinese Communist Party People's Liberation Army) Said the CCP Will Launch a War Against Taiwan

Mr. Hao said that he had some hope in Hu Jintao before, but after watching the news of Hu visiting Canada, he now has a different opinion.

Before the Nine Commentaries Forum, he watched the news of Hu visiting Canada. He was planning to make a suggestion to Hu through the forum. Mr. Hao even wrote an article in which he said, "I hope to see the Gorbachev of China, who will abandon the CCP and build a new party, and lead China toward democracy and freedom." He added, "China is at a crossroads. If Hu chooses to change direction, then it will be a fresh start, and China will have hope. If Hu persists in the ways of the CCP, he will lead the 60 million CCP members and all other people in China toward an abyss."

After he watched the news (of Hu visiting Canada) on TV, Mr. Hao realized both the good and the bad of the matter. The good thing is that he was able to see Hu clearly on the TV news program. Hu stood right next to Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin while he expressed in a very strong manner that he hoped the government of Canada would not interfere with China's internal affairs on the issue of Taiwan. He emphasized that if Taiwan claimed independence, the Chinese government would do this and that. As other media reported that Hu delivered the message of launching a war against Taiwan, Mr. Hao said that Hu wanted to use the war against Taiwan to instigate Chinese people's emotion of nationalism, to consolidate his ruling position and extend the life of the CCP. He was utilizing the sentimentality of Chinese people against the independence of Taiwan to control them, and instigating national hatred.

Mr. Hao said, "Most Chinese people do not know that Jiang Zemin had ceded huge areas of land in north China to other countries and most Taiwanese do not know the true nature of the CCP. They thus harbor illusions that the CCP is the same as the Kuomintang, which moved toward democracy under the voice of the people."

Mr. Hao then explained the bad side in his view: Hu revealed his determination to attack Taiwan in his speech while visiting Canada. He displayed his evil side. People have imagined and expected that Hu was simply steeling himself for a future revenge that should eliminate his political enemy, namely the Shanghai political gang in the CCP.

Hao also said that he was in touch with many people who work in Department No. 2 of the Headquarters of the General Staff of the CCPLA, which is the head of the CCP's intelligence system. They think that the CCP would certainly go to war with Taiwan. Mr. Hao commented, "I think that the CCP will be doomed when it goes to war with Taiwan."

Police in Jinzhou Afraid of the Word "Minghui" ("Clearwisdom")

(Clearwisdom.net) In Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, there is a store named "Minghui," Chinese for "Clearwisdom." Its business is thriving and it has more customers than it can handle.

Not long ago, the police in Jinzhou City noticed the word "Minghui" on the signboard and could not tolerate it. They conducted a secret investigation to determine whether or not the owner of the store practiced Falun Gong. After learning that the owner was not a Dafa practitioner, they went to him and ordered him to change the store's name.

The owner was unwilling to change the name since his business was so prosperous, and he feared that the change might bring bad luck. But he dared not offend the police either, so after wracking his brain, he finally asked somebody to come up with a design for him that would cover the character "ming" with some skillful artwork. This way, the store is as prosperous as before.

5. [Chongqing] Gao Xiaobo Arrested When Tearing Off Slanderous Banners

During the early morning on September 6, 2005 police arrested and beat practitioner Gao Xiaobo when Gao was tearing down banners that slander Falun Dafa. Gao Xiaobo is being held at the Changshou District Detention Center.

6. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Peng Hongdao Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

In April 2005, personnel from the Gongchang Police Station arrested practitioner Mr. Peng Hongdao from Jianli County, Hubei Province. Mr. Peng is from Wangshi Village, while the police are from Gongchang. The police ganged up with personnel from the county 610 Office and sentenced Peng Hongdao to one year of forced labor without any legal procedures. They sent him directly to the provincial Shayang Forced Labor Camp. Peng Hongdao is suffering inhuman tortures there.

7. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region] Police and 610 Office Personnel Interrogate Practitioners and Try to Extort Confessions under Torture

Practitioners Wang Desheng, Wang Jiaming, Zhang Xiaoping, Shen Dongmei, Qiao Jianhui, Hu Jiancai, Cai Guojun, Jiang Tao, Xi Hua, and Su Qingling were arrested in 2005. Wang Desheng and Wang Jiaming have been sentenced to imprisonment; Xi Hua and Su Qingling were sentenced to forced labor.

Under instructions from the 610 Office in the Ningxia Autonomous Region (AR), the No.13 Division from the Ningxia AR Police Department, the No.1 Division and the Criminal Investigation Team of the Yinchuan City Police Department as well as the Xingqing District and Xixia District Police Stations, were actively involved in the persecution of practitioners. Mr. Wang Desheng was followed and then secretly arrested. Police and 610 Office personnel interrogated him under brutal torture over ten days, though they had no legal grounds or authorization.

Practitioner Zhang Xiaoping was interrogated to elicit a confession as well, after police and 610 Office personnel arrested her.

8. [Heilongjiang Province] Song Wenjuan Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor and Sent to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp

On July 19, 2005, personnel from the Wuchang County National Security Group headed by Zhan Zhigang arrested practitioner Ms. Song Wenjuan from Niujia Town, Wuchang County. She was held at the County No.1 Detention Center. Because Ms. Song didn't write the so-called Three Statements, on July 27, eight days after her arrest, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. When her family visited her for the first time, they saw bruises around Ms. Song's mouth and chin.

Currently, Song Wenjuan is still being held in the Concentration Team at Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.

9. [Tieling County, Liaoning Province] Ji Shuqing and Su Guilin Arrested

At 8:00 p.m. on September 2, 2005, practitioner Ms. Ji Shuqing from Hengdaohezi Township, Tieling County, Liaoning Province ran into personnel in a police cruiser on her way to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa. She was put in the County Detention Center. The next day, the police abducted her practitioner husband and brutally tortured him while forcing Ji Shuqing to watch. Ms. Ji could not bear the scene of her husband being tortured, so she told the source of the truth-clarifying materials. Afterwards, another practitioner, Mr. Su Guilin, was taken to the Township Police Station at 6 o'clock on September 3 for interrogation. Mr. Su didn't give any information and was then released at 9:00 p.m. Other practitioners suggested that Su Guilin should leave home to avoid possible rearrest, but he didn't. At 8:00 p.m. on September 10, personnel from the township police station and county police department arrested him and put him in the county detention center at 11:00 p.m.

10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Lu Hongsheng Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Class

On September 8, 2005 practitioner Mr. Lu Hongsheng from Wuhan City was forcibly taken from his workplace to the Tangxunhu Legal System Education Class (actually a brainwashing class) in Hubei Province. He has a 6-year-old daughter and his wife is unemployed. His place of employment is the Hubei Province Post and Electricity Cadre School.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Including Su Chengyuan Arrested

At 6:00 a.m. on August 31, 2005, several policemen from the Guilin Road Police Station in Changchun City broke into Falun Gong practitioner Su Chengyuan's home. They searched the house and confiscated Dafa books, a computer, a printer, printing paper and other belongings. They even confiscated a multifunctional box given as a gift by a medicine factory. They arrested Su Chengyuan, Hong Shuxian (Su Chengyuan's wife), Mr. Su's mother Bai Zhouwen who is near 70 years old, and Mr. Su's son, a first grade primary school student. The same morning they also arrested practitioners Su Chenyu, Xing Yiqun, Wang Yuqin, Pan Xiuyan (the amah of Bai Zhouwen's second daughter who does not practice Falun Gong). Two practitioners with the surname Sun and Liu from Jilin Province's Industrial University factory were also arrested.

Her relatives bailed Bai Zhouwen out at the cost of 5,000 yuan; a relative fetched the child back at noon the same day. Seven of the eight practitioners were sent to the No. 3 Detention Center. It is not know where Su Chengyuan is detained.

12. [Honghu City, Hubei Province] Police Arrest the Practitioner Couple Gong Bing and Tang Fangqiong and Ransack Their Home

On September 7, 2005, Zuo Shihong, an officer from the Honghu City National Security Team, led policemen and arrested Falun Gong practitioner/ taxi driver Mr. Gong Bing. They confiscated the taxi, grabbed his private key and used this to break into Gong Bing's house to arrest his wife, Tang Fangqiong. They confiscated a computer, bankbooks and thousands in cash, including their child's money for breakfast.

Gong Bing and Tang Fangqiong are presently held at the Honghu City No.1 Detention Center. The lawless policemen instigated prisoners to beat Gong Bing. Because of the couple's arrest, no one is looking after their child.

13. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Wang Xiaozhen and Her Daughter Nannan Arrested

Practitioner Wang Xiaozhen and her daughter Nannan live with the Linzhangzi Team, Bianzhangzi Township, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. On September 8, 2005, personnel from the Township Police Station, in collusion with officers from the Xiangyang Police Precinct in the Longcheng District, Changyang City (seven policemen in all), broke into Wang Xiaozhen's house and arrested the mother and daughter. They are currently being held at the Shijiahetao Detention Center.

14. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region] Xu Tingquan Arrested

Mr. Xu Tingquan is a Falun Gong practitioner from Ningxia University. During the night of September 3, 2005, personnel from the National Security Team at the Xixia District Police Precinct in Yinchuan City arrested him from his home. Mr. Xu and his wife are practitioners. They were sentenced to forced labor for going to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. His wife Ye Songqing has been tortured to partial paralysis. After they were released, the couple was forced into brainwashing classes. This time, they were arrested because they were reported when clarifying the truth to people.

106 People Declare that their Words and Deeds Under Forced Brainwashing are Null and Void
A Total of 290327 Declarations Have Been Published To Date

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
