(Clearwisdom.net) Days before the Fifth Asia-Pacific Cities Summit was to be held in Chongqing, China, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) "cracked down" on people who might have protested during the event.

The CCP regularly monitors and arrests Chinese citizens during important events or sensitive dates. In preparation for the summit, Chongqing Special Steel Company workers who have been laid off without compensation and Falun Gong practitioners, particularly practitioners who have been detained, persecuted and forced into brainwashing sessions, were followed and supervised 24 hours a day. The CCP feared that they would protest during the summit, so they called in national security officers from other cities, and forced people on social welfare, drug addicts, personnel from the residents' office, the community center and state-operated units to carry out their so-called "crackdown."

According to inside sources, since the CCP has been in power, never has there been such tension and rigorous surveillance. Residents who live near the summit venue in Chongqing are given 1,000 yuan each to go on outings in order to vacate the area.

Corrupt officials in Chongqing publicly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in every district and county. They had them arrested, closely monitored by businesses and local communities, or arranged to have them go "do errands" or to another city for "vacation" by their workplace.

On the afternoon of October 6, 2005, practitioners Ms. Li, Xiao Wen and four to five other practitioners were followed in Shapingba District, Chongqing City, and illegally arrested by the 610 Office. Their whereabouts are currently unknown. Further investigation is underway.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang (alias) and Ms. Yang Yuhua from Yubei District were arrested and taken to the Yiwanshui Detention Center in Yubei District. The perpetrators did not allow their family members to take clothes or other necessities to them. Mr. Xiao Xiang was also abducted and his whereabouts are unknown. In addition, on September 28, Zhao Shan, two female practitioners and one male practitioner from another place were arrested in Miaoershi, Jiangbei; further details are unknown.

The perpetrators in Changshou District held a meeting, and installed electronic devices in several areas including Duzhou. Dafa practitioners, please take heed and maintain righteous thoughts and actions when handing out truth-clarification materials.

In less than six months, more than ten practitioners from Changshou District have been arrested. At around 3 a.m. on September 6, Mr. Gao Xiaobo from Duzhou Town was arrested because he tore up banners that slandered Falun Dafa. The perpetrators had been waiting there for many days to trap practitioners. They searched Mr. Gao's home and confiscated a newly purchased computer and other items. The perpetrators then went to his parents-in-law's home and detained them for one day. They threatened Mr. Gao's in-laws so that they became afraid of contacting people. They took Gao Xiaobo to the Town Agricultural Market Fair and paraded him through the streets in order to humiliate him. However, he continuously shouted out, "Falun Dafa is great," and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great." Mr. Gao was held for more than 20 days and his current situation is unknown.

Around 8 a.m. on September 23, while Ms. Zhang Xiuyun was going to the market, she was suddenly seized by five to six policemen from the Gelan Town Local Police Station and Manager Yuan Xiaoping. Forty-two-year-old Ms. Zhang is a Dafa practitioner from Nanxing Village, Gelan Town. Three policemen from Gelan and two government officials took her directly to the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp-Renhe Station. In June 2000, Ms. Zhang tried to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and was detained for a month. At the end of 2001, she was again held in a detention center for several months for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. On June 30, 2005, her home was searched, and she was arrested and detained for the third time, this time for 28 days.

From now until October 16, Chongqing Dafa practitioners, please send forth strong righteous thoughts at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. every night to eliminate all evil elements that damage Dafa during the Asia-Pacific Cities Summit. Mengyin County Local 610 Office Details How They Persecuted Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, in order to claim credit from higher authorities in persecuting Falun Gong, Mengyin County Party Committee published a report entitled, "Work Report of the 610 Office of Mengyin County Chinese Communist Party Committee" to highlight their "achievement" in persecuting Falun Gong. The report, printed in color, summarized how Falun Gong has been persecuted since July 20, 1999, and how much money was spent to "transform" and brainwash practitioners. The report contains three parts: prologue, details about Falun Gong, and work in progress.

The report outlined the following actions:

1) A special work team was established in July 2001. Specifically, the 610 Office was established with a staff of ten as prescribed. Within the Public Security Bureau, a detective squad was staffed with ten police officers. 610 Office branches were set up in all townships with staffs of three to five people. In units directly reporting to the county authorities, one to two observers were placed.

2) Facilities were improved. They reported that over the past several years, "We have invested over one million yuan to build facilities for persecuting Falun Gong. Currently, the 610 Office has over thirty buildings, two vehicles, one set of equipment for physical checkups, a total of ten office machines including PCs, printers, and fax machines. Office work has been fully automated. Closed circuit surveillance has also been set up. A file room, recreational room, kitchen, and dormitory for those who have been 'transformed' have been set up. Comprehensive and standard facilities for reeducation have been implemented."

In these ways the 610 Office staff use taxpayer's money to persecute kind-hearted citizens.

The report continued, "For the past several years, we have shut down a total of 40 [Falun Gong truth-clarification] materials production sites and gathering sites, arrested 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners, handed down over forty sentences, the longest being fourteen years, sent over a hundred practitioners to forced labor camps and detained some 8,000 practitioners. In addition, over 480,000 Falun Gong books have been confiscated, as well as 560,000 flyers, 4,500 banners, 40,000 sound systems, over 3,000 cassette players, and 200 cars, cell phones, and computers.

The report also summarized how the Mengyin County local 610 Office launched a smear campaign: They organized a group made up of 120 people and visited over 400 villages and held over 600 meetings to smear Falun Gong. They have also held exhibits with approximately 30 displays as part of a traveling show, which has been shown about 150 times. They have organized over 160 so-called educational activities in rural areas, elementary schools, and in middle schools, to promote science and condemn [slanderous term omitted].

From the above, one can see that it is the Mengyin County Party Committee, who masterminded and organized the deliberate persecution of Falun Gong, that is actively sending practitioners to brainwashing centers, prisons, and forced labor camps. To persecute Falun Gong, a small county with a population of 510,000 has spent over a million yuan to build facilities for the persecution. In addition, countless other people have suffered due to broken families and the death of loved ones. To date, two practitioners have been persecuted to death (Zhang Dezhen and Liu Shufen, reported on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website). Over fifty other people are currently detained. Many others are displaced and homeless, in order to avoid persecution. The money collected in fines may exceed 10 million yuan. In addition, many practitioners' homes have been ransacked and valuables have been stolen. One practitioner's home in Duozhuang Township has been damaged to such an extent that it can no longer be lived in.

The illegal fines have added up to tens of thousands of yuan and probably more. While the 610 Office claims that it loves the people of China, it is a shameful lie. Given what they have done, there is no way they can say that they care about families. Many practitioners' homes have been ransacked and their grain stores and farm animals have been taken away. If a county with only 500,000 people has spent over a million yuan to build facilities solely for the persecution of Falun Gong, not even mentioning salaries and bonuses, how much has the whole country spent on the persecution? Now, so many factory workers are unemployed, peasants have no money for healthcare or to go to school, and yet Jiang Zemin's regime has spent so much of the taxpayer's money to persecute those who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Whose interests are they protecting?

Why has the Mengyin County 610 Office received so many honors and recognition from the higher authorities? In their own words, Mengyin County is one of the worst counties in the whole province in persecuting Falun Gong. Since July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, all party secretaries and leaders of the Political and Legal Committee and the 610 Office have played the role of organizers and implementers of the Jiang regime's persecutory policy.

There is a proverb that says that if good and evil are not rewarded accordingly, the cosmos must be selfish. It should be known that among the four associate party secretaries who are responsible for the persecution in Mengyin County, two have received karmic retribution (the wife of Wang Changli died in a car accident, and Chen Yongbo died of cancer at age 50). In 2003, Lei Yancheng, former head of the 610 Office, suffered a stroke and his wife suffered from a brain disorder. In 2005, they had a car accident and the wife was injured. Now, husband and wife have realized that they have committed many wrongs against Falun Gong and asked to leave the 610 Office. They left the post in 2003. Lei Yancheng is now the head of the Tourism Bureau. But he is still responsible for the wrongdoings that he has committed.

We sincerely advise those who are still involved in the persecution to stop, mend their ways and secure a better future for themselves and their families.

A Devoted Daughter Protects Her Father But Is Sentenced to Two Years in a Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 25, 2005, the police suddenly broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Guangyou, a villager living in Huanan County, Heilongjiang Province. The police illegally ransacked the home and found Falun Gong books. In order to protect her father, his daughter Ms. Liu Yue claimed that the books were hers. As a result, the police "arrested" Ms. Liu Yue. Although the police knew very well that Ms. Liu did not practice Falun Gong, they illegally arrested her and then tried to extort a large sum of money from her family. When they realized that her family was unable to pay the ransom, they arbitrarily sentenced Ms. Liu to two years in Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. The police also abducted her father. Ms. Liu's little brother is now left at home alone without any adult supervision. He has been forced to drop out of school.

Ms. Liu Yue, 21, is a villager in Zhenxing Village, Yuanerdaogou Township, Huanan County. She is a single woman and a farmer. In her spare time, she helps her father Mr. Liu Guangyou with his medical clinic. Her little brother, Liu Mengyang, studied at Huanan No. 3 Elementary School. Ms. Liu does not practice Falun Gong.

On July 25, 2005 while Mr. Liu Guangyou was out, several men suddenly broke into his home. They claimed to be agents from the Pricing Bureau searching for illegal medicines. Without showing any credentials, they began to ransack Mr. Liu's home. It was not until they found Falun Gong books and materials that Ms. Liu realized that they were plainclothes policemen.

The police asked Ms. Liu Yue whom the books belonged to and who practiced Falun Gong in the household. In order to protect her father, Ms. Liu replied, "These are my books. I practice Falun Gong." Captain of the State Security Team Li Jun, Deputy Captain Wang Jinfeng and policemen Chen Yujun and Huang Xiaodong then took Ms. Liu Yue to the Huanan County Detention Center.

In the detention center, Ms. Liu Yue has been missing her family a great deal. In addition, the illegal detention has had a negative effect on her prospective marriage. She has been terribly tormented. Although the Huanan County Public Security Bureau knew perfectly well that Ms. Liu Yue did not practice Falun Gong beforehand, they tried to extort 13,000 yuan from her family in exchange for her freedom. Because her family was unable to pay the ransom, the Public Security Bureau's State Security Team concocted "evidence" against Liu Yue and arbitrarily sentenced her to two years in Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City.

On August 22, 2005, the police, led by Li Jun, abducted Ms. Liu's father, Mr. Liu Guangyou, and had him incarcerated in the Huanan County Detention Center. Ms. Liu's younger brother, Liu Mengyang, is only 14 years old. Their mother passed away when the children were little. His father and sister were all that young Mengyang had. Now that his father and sister have been incarcerated, he has no one to look after him. He cannot attend school and lives alone.

Many Falun Dafa Practitioners in Junan County, Shandong Province, Have Been Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) On the 11^th and 12^th of August 2005, in coordinated raids, police from the 610 Office of Junan County and the police stations of Dadian Town, Yanbin Town, Zhendong, Town, and Zhenxi Town of Liyi City, Shandong Province, searched, harassed, and monitored scores of practitioners in the area. Many practitioners were arrested. It is believed that these raids were a part of a systematic "red terror" action on the part of the Communist Party directed against practitioners before the upcoming tourism ceremony on August 13 in Dadian Town, Junan County. Apparently their goal was to prevent practitioners from clarifying the truth to the tourists and other visitors to the region.

On August 11, agents from the Junan County 610 Office and the Dadian Town Police Station went to the house of practitioner Mr. Wang Xianxue to "illegally arrest" him. Because Mr. Wang was working out of town and his wife was not home, the police broke down the door and entered the home unlawfully. They then proceeded to ransack the residence, confiscating Falun Dafa books and other articles.

On August 12, the same police went to the house of another practitioner, Mr. Li Baoshan, in Goudong Village, Pengjiashi. When Mr. Li returned from work, he found his home ransacked and the police waiting to arrest him. Now, his father, who is 82 years old and only recently recovered from an illness, and his seven-year-old daughter are left at home on their own. Mr. Li's wife, Qian Jinhua, also a practitioner, was subjected to persecution for many years. To avoid harassment and arrest, she has lived a homeless life for more than two years.

On the same day, this same group of 610 Office agents and local police officers went to the house of practitioner Mr. Wang Houling in Juguanzhuang Village. Mr. Wang was earlier sentenced to three years in prison for clarifying the truth and is still serving the term. His wife, Cui Jianai, took care of their two daughters, who are 10 and 17 years old, and her husband's parents. Their life was not easy. After arriving at the home, the police arrested Ms. Cui Jianai, ransacked the home, confiscated Falun Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials, as well as a small cassette player. Ms. Cui's motorcycle was also impounded. Now, her 10-year-old daughter is left at home alone.

Other practitioners whose homes were ransacked by the agents from the 610 Office of Junan County and the local police station include Ji Xingshu and Ji Xingcai from Yanbin Town in the south of Dadian, Ji Xingzhen from Xi Village, and Yanbinji, who was later released. Several practitioners in the county seat of Junan County were also harassed and monitored. Practitioners from Xiaodian Town, which is close to Dadian Town of Junan County, were also harassed by the local 610 Office and police. Practitioner Wang Changyi's Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

It has been learned that practitioner Peng Xiuzhan was unlawfully sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for two years, Ji Xingshu was illegally sentenced to one year, Mr. Li Baoshan was sentenced to six months, and Ms. Cui Jianai to two years. We don't know the details of Ji Xingcai's current situation.

Kou Ping and His Wife Are Arrested in Huan County, Gansu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Kou Ping, 32 years old, is an employee of the Mobile Company in Huan County. His wife, Miao Huixia, 32 years old, works in the Genwan Township government in Huan County. Both of them are Falun Gong practitioners. After 9:00 p.m. on February 16, 2004, over a dozen local police officers came to their home and forcibly searched their house. Among the police officers were Chang Yuhai, Secretary of the Politics & Law Committee in Huan County; Yang Heping, director of the local Public Security Bureau; Cheng Yongzhong, director of the Security Section of the local Public Security Bureau.

Since it was late, Kou Ping refused to open the door. However, the police officers attempted to break the window and lock, forcing Mr. Kou to open the door. The officers turned Mr. Kou's home upside down, and confiscated his computer, photocopier, scanner and Falun Dafa literature among other belongings.

In addition, the officers also threatened Kou Ping's mother and his mother-in-law and forced them to stay inside their bedrooms. Miao Huixia tried to clarify the truth to the police but they refused to listen. Instead, they kept searching around until about 2:00 a.m. and took Kou Ping and his wife away with them. Two days later, both of them were put into the Huan County Detention Center.

During the detention, Miao Huixia refused to be interrogated and was beaten. In the end, she was illegally sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor. After 40 days in the detention center, she was sent to the Gansu Women's Forced Labor Camp in early April 2004. After she was subjected to all sorts of torture, Miao Huixia was released in May 2005.

Kou Ping was unlawfully sentenced to prison for three years. Currently, he is still being detained in the Huan County Detention Center. Kou Ping and Miao Huixia wrote a so-called "Statement of Regret" in their state of confusion after being brutally tortured. Later, both of them declared that the statement was null and void. Kou Ping's eight-year-old son and his elderly mother are both left at home, under his aunt's care.

Crimes Committed by the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp in September 2004

(Clearwisdom.net) From September 3 to 27, 2004, the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, formed an "Attack Team" using 70 police guards and about 200 discipline personnel. There were five attack locations. They targeted 29 practitioners who refused to give up their belief in Falun Dafa and brutally persecuted them.

The police guards and disciplinary personnel locked each practitioner in an isolated room and took turns torturing the practitioners mentally and physically 24 hours a day, trying to push them into giving up their belief. The following is an account of how some of the practitioners were persecuted in September 2004.

Ms. Huang Yana, from Nan County, was 40 years old. In February 2004, the guards and their accomplices beat and verbally abused her and forced her to stand for a prolonged period of time in the cold weather. They force-fed Ms. Huang in an old clinic. As a result of the torture, she had difficulty breathing, vomited blood, and almost died. This time the Attack Team forced Ms. Huang to stand for twelve days straight. Her lower legs were swollen to the size of her thighs and she had halucinations the last couple of days. She couldn't stand anymore and fell to the ground. The guards forced her to stand up, but she fell again. This was repeated many times. Her extreme willpower helped her through the inhumane torture. In the end, Ms. Huang had to drag herself back to the Strict 7-3 team. Ms. Huang was not afraid of the brutal violence and her behavior was steadfast and unyielding.

Ms. Liu Manhong was tied up on a bed for three consecutive days. The Attack Team also forced her to stand for six days straight. Ms. Liu stopped the persecution with her righteous thoughts.

Ms. Li Ping, from Qiyang County, Yongshou City, was 58 years old. She was transferred from the Strict 7-2 team to the Attack Team. The Attack Team forced Ms. Li to stand for eight consecutive days and beat and cursed her. She became severely underweight. However, all the torture did not shake her determination to continue her practice of Falun Dafa.

Ms. Lei Jianli, from Zhijiang County, was 30 years old. In June 2004, she was sentenced to the camp for the second time. The Attack team forced her to stand for six days straight. Ms. Lei faced the evil with righteous thoughts the whole time.

Ms. Yang Huaxiu, from Huaihua City, was 55 years old. The practice of Falun Dafa transformed her from a very ill person into a healthy person. The Attack Team forced her to stand for eleven consecutive days. However, the brutal beatings, verbal abuse and torture didn't shake her belief in Falun Dafa.

Ms. Mu Yuxiang, from Huaihua City, was 37 years old. It was her second time being sentenced to the labor camp, and the Attack Team forced her to stand for ten days in a row. No matter what the guards did, including playing the brainwashing TV program and using former Falun Gong practitioners who had gone astray due to the persecution to try to persuade her, Ms. Mu would not change her mind and retained her righteous thoughts and actions.

Ms. Wu Xiaoming, from the Yueyang area, was 45 years old. The Attack Team forced Ms. Wu to stand for twelve days until the skin on her feet and legs broke open and sloughed off in several layers. The police guards beat, verbally abused and punished her, forcing her to sit on a small stool for more than 18 hours each day for over 20 days. She insisted on practicing Falun Dafa throughout the entire ordeal and refused to cooperate with the unreasonable demands of the authorities. The authorities extended Ms. Wu's sentenced because she refused to participate in the slave labor.

Ms. Yang Jusheng was 60 years old. This was her second time being sentenced to the forced labor camp. She was forced to stand for twelve days and the police and accomplices took turns torturing her 24 hours a day. The persecution was so bad that she lost control of her bowels. However, none of this changed her belief in Falun Dafa.

Other practitioners persecuted by the Attack Team:

Ms. Zhang Yulan, from Liuyang County, Changsha City, was 33 years old. The guards forced her to stand for 35 days non-stop, trying to force her to give up her belief. She was not allowed to sleep, move or walk. Her lower legs were terribly swollen. She only slept three nights during the 35 days. She suffered extreme pain mentally and physically. The captain from the Strict 7-2 Team, Wei (first name unknown), was in charge of persecuting Ms. Zhang.

Ms. Luo Lingzhi, from Anxiang County, was 60 years old. The Attack Team forced Ms. Luo to stand for a prolonged period of time. The police guards used electric batons to shock her, and she was injured all over her body.

Ms. Gao Fengjiao, from Huarong County, was 43 years old. Ms. Gao was forced to stand for six days straight.

Ms. Hu Huiling, from Changde area, was 46 years old. Ms. Hu was forced to stand for three days and to sit on a small stool for 18 hours a day, and not allowed to move, for 20 days.

Ms. Tan Anju, from Huaihua City, was 43 years old. She was forced to do prolonged standing and was persecuted with beatings and verbal abuse.

Ms. Zhou Dezhuang, from Xintian County, Yongzhou City, was 30 years old. Ms. Zhou had to stand for four days straight and was also tortured in other ways during that time.

Ms. Song Fangming, from Changsha City, was 48 years old. She had to stand a long time and was beaten and cursed by the police.

Ms. Zhang Yangui, from Qiyang County, was 51 years old. She had to stand a long time and was beaten and verbally abused by the guards.

Ms. Yang Yunying, from Huaihua City, was 51 years old. The police guards brutally beat her, made her stand for a long time, and used big needles to stab her fingernails.

Ms. Li Qiuzhen, from Huaihua City, was 43 years old. The first time she was persecuted in the labor camp, she was forced to stand for ten days straight. The second time she was in the labor camp, the Attack Team brutally beat her.

Ms. Hu Xiaoxuan, from Yuanjiang County, was 35 years old. The guards forced her to stand for ten days and violently beat her.

The Shengli Hospital "Mental Health Center" Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Shengli Oil Field's on-site 610 Office directed the Shengli Oil Field's affiliates, the Oil-gas Gathering Company, the Logging Company, and the Education Institute to arrest five Falun Gong practitioners, including Jiang Haisong and Li Xiaodong, and take them to the "Mental Health Center" building in the Shengli Hospital for "treatment." The doctors and nurses there have forcibly injected the Falun Gong practitioners with unknown drugs. If the practitioners refuse the drugs, they are shocked with electric batons.

Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners in Hunan, Shaanxi, and Hebei Provinces Died as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Su Shukun was 78 years old and lived with her daughter, Su Donghui. They lived in Changsha City, Hunan Province. Ms. Su heard about the Fa in 1998 and started practicing beginning in early 1999. She benefited a great deal from practicing Falun Dafa. The pulmonary emphysema and gastric disease she had lived with for decades improved. In November 2000, Ms. Su went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa and was sent to a forced labor camp. She was subjected to various tortures, leaving her with deteriorating health. In December 2001, Ms. Su unwillingly wrote the Three Statements and was then released. However, she continued practicing and studying Falun Dafa.

Ms. Su Shukun also actively validated the Fa. In July 2002, her daughter was again illegally arrested and sent to a forced labor camp because of distributing Dafa truth clarification materials. Ms. Su was so devastated and exhausted by the ongoing persecution that her old illnesses returned. However, she still wrote a letter to her daughter, Su Donghui, at the labor camp. She encouraged her daughter to be a good person with righteous thoughts and a firm, unshakable belief in Dafa. Ms. Su Shukun died on August 8, 2003.

Mr. Liu Zhigang was a 52-year-old practitioner from Xian City, Shaanxi Province. He was a cadre in the Bureau of Commodity Inspection and Quarantine in Shaanxi Province. Many of his illnesses disappeared after he started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. In October 2001, Mr. Liu was abducted and sent to brainwashing sessions for more than three months. He was badly injured both physically and mentally. He expressed his intention to continue practicing after his release, but he was upset for a long time. Early in 2003, his wife, also a practitioner, was abducted and taken to a brainwashing center. In July 2003, Chen (surname) from the City 610 Office, Lu (surname) from the District 610 Office, staff from Mr. Liu's workplace and the deputy officer went to Mr. Liu's home several times on consecutive days to threaten and intimidate him. This caused serious physical and mental stress to Mr. Liu. His health deteriorated rapidly and he died on December 16, 2003. Ten days later, his mother (not a practitioner) died of sorrow after hearing the news of her son's death.

Mr. Hu Tianliang was a 67-year-old retired cadre from Hujiazhuang in Lingshou County, Hebei Province. He was formerly a director at the Beihuoying Vermiculite Factory. He was paralyzed and confined to bed before practicing Falun Dafa. Mr. Lu learned the Fa in 1997. After watching Teacher's lectures on video, he could gradually sit up. He was able to stand up and do the exercises after practicing for about 20 days. He was able to get off the bed and walk after two months. In less than six months, he was able to do some household chores and go to other villages to tell them about the Fa and study with other practitioners. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Mr. Hu was abducted by the County Security Department. They forced him to write the three statements and pay them 500 yuan. He was finally released with help from other people. As a result of the persecution, Mr. Hu lost the group environment for studying the Fa and doing the exercises. His body and mind were severely strained, causing his old illness to return. He was again paralyzed, confined to bed and died on September 10, 2005.

Ms. Wu Mingyan was 59 years old and from Maoming in Guangdong Province. She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. Ms. Wu had illnesses before practicing Falun Dafa, but became very healthy after practicing. In December 2000, Ms. Wu went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and was illegally sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp. She was severely pressured into unwillingly writing a statement agreeing to stop practicing Dafa. After Ms. Wu gave up cultivation practice, she became very sick. She was sent to a hospital before the New Year in 2005 and diagnosed with late stage liver cancer, liver cirrhosis and liver ascites. She could not move and her family was preparing for her death. Some practitioners, hearing of her illness, came to her house every day to send forth righteous thoughts, and her health miraculously recovered. She could go up and down stairs, study the Fa, do the exercise and send forth righteous thoughts. Her family members, who were not practitioners, were very grateful to Dafa and the practitioners. Later, Ms. Wu was reported to the 610 Office by someone who did not understand Falun Dafa. Her family was threatened many times by the 610 Office staff. Wu Mingyan died on September 21, 2005.

Mr. Xu Zhaohong, 70 years old, from Xiama Village of Dangyu Town in Zunhua City, Hebei Province, started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. After the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Dafa, a person who did not understand the truth of Dafa led the police to Mr. Xu's house, where they threatened Mr. Xu and his wife. They illegally searched the house. Mr. Xu eventually died due to the persecution.

Ms. Zhang Shuxian, 87 years old, from Nongan County in Jilin Province, lived with her daughter, Miao Guiqin. She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996 and many of her old-age-related diseases disappeared without medication. After the persecution began, the police frequently showed up at Ms. Zhang's house to disturb them. One day in the spring of 2000, the police harassed them all night long. On August 16, 2005, seven or eight people from the National Security Division and the Gucheng Police Station in Nongan County broke into Ms. Zhang's home through the second floor patio. They illegally searched her house, took away Falun Dafa books, and tried to arrest Miao Guiqin. Ms. Zhang was so frightened that her whole body trembled and her face looked ashen. Her daughter was forced into homelessness in order to avoid arrest. This caused deep mental anguish for Ms. Zhang. Within just a few days, she could not get out of bed and she died on September 25, 2005.

Mr. Wang Yongqing was a 76-year-old retired teacher from the Professional School at the Mineral Resources Bureau in Panzhihua, Sichuan Province. After the persecution of Falun Dafa began, he continued his practice and constantly spread the truth of Dafa and the persecution. Therefore, he was constantly pressured and harassed by the West District Security Bureau, his workplace, and the residential committee. Wang Yongqing died on September 14, 2004.

Mr. Cheng Guozheng, 66 years old, lived in Unit 21 of the Third Village of North Tiaping Road at the Mineral Resources Bureau of Panzhihua in Sichuan. He began the practice of Falun Gong in 1996 and his hypertension, heart disease and gallstones all disappeared. After July 20, 1999, the staff at the Mosohe Police Station, the Baoding Police Department Sub-bureau, and the Security Department of Huashan Ore often went to Mr. Cheng's house to harass him. This caused him to suffer a relapse of his previous illnesses. He died on January 5, 2005.

Three Elderly Practitioners from Hebei, Shanxi, and Liaoning Provinces Died Due to the Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhang Qinzeng was 80 years old. He was the former director of the Forest Bureau of Quzhou County, Handan City, Hebei Province. Before practicing Falun Gong, he suffered from several illnesses. Every year, he spent two to three thousand yuan on medicine. When he went to the market, only a mile away from his home, he needed to rest several times. Fortunately, in 1997, he began to practice Falun Dafa. His mind and body were purified, his illnesses vanished, and he saved his country a large amount of money because he no longer needed medication. All of the villagers understood that those who practice Falun Gong are good people. To benefit more people, Zhang Qinzeng often traveled out of town to tell people about Falun Dafa. After July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party and Jiang Zemin's regime started to persecute Falun Gong, the police and the 610 Office repeatedly harassed, threatened, and intimidated Mr. Zhang. He was severely traumatized. Even with this pressure, he continued to clarify the truth to villagers and other people. Sometimes, he rode his bicycle to towns that were several miles away to clarify the truth. During a funeral ceremony in his village, he clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to the leaders of various bureaus and to the staff of the 610 Office. Over time, however, due to the extreme pressure of the persecution, Zhang Qinzeng's health deteriorated and he passed away in 2005.

Ms. Jiao Xiuying was 80 years old. She was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shanxi Province. She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. In a short period of time, her health improved dramatically and various illnesses vanished. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, she was harassed many times and her home was ransacked. All of her family members were determined not to give up their practice; three of her family members were sentenced because they refused to renounce Falun Gong. As an 80-year-old woman, Ms. Jiao Xiuying was left at home to live with her daughter. The police constantly harassed and intimidated her. One night in October 2002, a group of policemen (about 20) broke into her house and ransacked it. The sudden trauma caused Ms. Jiao to collapse. She was helped to bed but was never able to get up again. A few days later, the policemen deceived and detained her daughter. Jiao Xiuying passed away in November 2002.

Ms. Guo Guilan was 71 years old. She lived in the Shuangta District, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. She benefited greatly from practicing Falun Dafa. After the persecution of Falun Dafa began, her second daughter was arrested and the police ransacked her home many times. Ms. Guo's mind and body were badly traumatized by the relentless persecution. She passed away on December 20, 2003.

Canada: Huang Huahua Receives Summons from British Columbia Superior Court (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Kevin Duan, who has recently moved to Canada from Mainland China, was brutally persecuted in a forced labor camp and brainwashing sessions in Guangzhou. As the governor of Guangdong Province and former Communist Party Secretary of Guangzhou (Guangzhou is the provincial capital), Huang Huahua has been actively carrying out and directing the persecution of Falun Gong, and thus he is responsible for the torture and killing of many practitioners, including the torture of Kevin Duan. While Huang is visiting Canada, Kevin submitted a lawsuit charging Huang for harshly persecuting him and other practitioners during Huang's tenure as party secretary and governor.

On the morning of October 21, the day after Huang arrived in Vancouver, Huang received a summons from the British Columbia (BC) Superior Court on a boat ride to Victoria (the capital of BC). At noontime, practitioners held a press conference in downtown Vancouver to announce the lawsuit.

Kevin Duan recounts his suffering in Guangdong

During the press conference, Kevin explained why he was suing Huang Huahua:

"I am from Guangdong and I am an electrical engineer. On the night of December 13, 2000, because I practice Falun Gong and told local people the facts about Falun Gong and compiled some truth-clarification materials, I was unlawfully arrested by the Guangzhou authorities. I was beaten for seven straight hours. As a result, I lost consciousness and my body was covered with bruises. I was then sent to a detention center and was forced to do slave labor for five months and two weeks. I was forced to work an average of 16 to 17 hours a day, with the maximum being 20 hours."

On May 23, 2001, Kevin Duan was sentenced to two years in a labor camp. He was secretly sent to a brigade dedicated to persecuting Falun Gong in the Guangzhou No. 1 Forced Labor Camp, where he suffered systematic mental and physical tortures. In the labor camp, he was subjected to intense brainwashing. Mr. Duan and many others were forced to watch video programs and to read books and newspapers that slandered the founder of Falun Gong. The labor camp forbade Kevin Duan's wife from visiting him and tried to force him to write the three statements. In doing so, the labor camp attempted to force him to give up his belief in Falun Gong.

Mr. Duan said, "My case is just the tip of the iceberg of the persecution. For example, practitioner Rao Chaoyuan who was arrested together with me has been severely tortured and consequently disabled. Moreover, Rao's brother was persecuted to death in August 2002 at the No. 1 Forced Labor Camp of Guangzhou.

As the Communist Party Secretary of Guangzhou at that time, Huang Huahua was in charge of the persecution of Falun Gong in the city and must be held accountable. At the end of 2001, Huang personally inspected the No. 1 Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou. Right after the inspection, the labor camp escalated the persecution of practitioners.

Kevin Duan said, "The persecution is still ongoing. My mother who is still in China was illegally arrested and taken to a police station in Shunde City (a city in Guandong Province) on October 14, the day after I testified at a press conference. Several police officials interrogated my mother for 4 hours. They kept asking: 'Where are your children and what are their professions?' They also asked if my mother knew about and had read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. My mother was required to attend a brainwashing session that coming Monday. They forcefully took her fingerprints. Now, my mother has been forced to leave home to avoid further persecution and we have lost contact with her."

Mr. Duan said that he was very worried about his mother's safety, but that he won't be intimidated by Chinese police's unlawful behavior.

To conclude, Kevin Duan said, "According to Canadian law, I have filed a lawsuit against Huang to the British Columbia superior court yesterday. Today, I want to remind the governor of British Columbia and all Canadian officials that Huang is a criminal guilty of torture and crimes against humanity. Huang can't represent the Chinese people and Canada can't welcome such a criminal. I also call on the Canadian government and the people of Canada to help rescue my mother who is being persecuted."

Vancouver practitioner Sue said, "The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Gong for 6 years while practitioners has been continuously clarifying the truth with peacefulness and rationality. Despite the practitioners' compassion, the persecution is still ongoing. Regarding this, the Falun Dafa Association issued a statement on October 9. The statement said: "From today on, overseas Falun Gong practitioners will file civil or criminal lawsuits against all important government or CCP officials who participate in or continue to implement the persecution of Falun Gong and as a result, commit new crimes in addition to those they have already perpetrated against Falun Gong."

Sue said the lawsuit against Huang is the first case since the publication of the statement. The evil individuals who have persecuted practitioners of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" will definitely be brought to justice. We hope that people in the communist regime will immediately abandon the evil path and choose to do good. If they continue to carry out the suppressive policy of Jiang Zemin's regime, they will be punished harshly, as such crimes are unforgivable.

Germany: Falun Gong Group Invited to Hold an Anti-Torture Exhibition to Expose the Persecution Taking Place in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The 18th stop of the nationwide tour of a human rights photo exhibition entitled, "Shameful Regions" was held in Sendinger Tor Square in downtown Munich on October 12th and 13^th, 2005. This exhibition is scheduled to be held in over thirty cities in Germany within three months, aiming to expose the human rights abuses happening in Communist countries including China, Burma, North Korea and Cuba. This activity is jointly organized by the Polish Centre for Democracy in Theory and Practice and the International Society for Human Rights (IGFM). As a direct victim of human rights persecution, the Falun Gong Association was invited to hold anti-torture exhibitions alongside the activity to expose the facts about China's persecution of Falun Gong.

"More people should withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party"

At a press conference, the representative of the Polish Democracy Centre, Mr. Luba, said that the goal of this photo exhibition is to tell the world's people that there are still so many shameful countries abusing human rights, and China is ranked No. 1 in terms of torture. The bloody persecution against Falun Gong practitioners is accompanied by slave labor. These things are prohibited in the modern world. Mr. Luba pointed out that it is wonderful to see that the Epoch Times' editorial series, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party has been so popular around the world since it was first published. He added that five million people withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is not enough. He said that more people should withdraw from the CCP so that this autocratic Communist regime will collapse as soon as possible.

Anti-torture Exhibition Shocks People

Many passers-by stopped to look at the photo exhibition, including some nuns. They were all shocked by what they saw. After watching the anti-torture exhibition, many people could hardly believe that such horrendous cruelty could happen in the world today. They asked if Falun Gong practitioners in China are really confined in small cages.

Many German people were shocked to learn that a large number of practitioners are not only confined in small cages, but also jailed in water dungeons and that if they refuse to give up their beliefs in the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance," they will be subjected to incessant persecution. Ms. Wang Guijin, a nine-months pregnant wife, was forced by eight strong men to abort her baby. In addition, even after images of Ms. Gao Rongrong's horribly disfigured face (as a result of torture) were exposed to the outside world, the Chinese Communist regime still persecuted Ms. Gao to death, heedless of international opinion. In the last month alone, forty-four Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted to death. After people learned of these atrocities, they were really shocked and enraged. They asked how to help the Falun Gong practitioners in China and how to put an end to the tragedy. In the meantime, they left their best wishes in the guest book.

A gentleman who works for the Munich public transportation system said that he has attentively read many reports about China's human rights abuses, as well as the informational materials of Falun Gong. If what he read is true, he said, the world is really deplorable. He really cannot figure out the reason why the Chinese Communist regime would be so cruel. At Falun Gong practitioners' suggestion, he has decided to read the Nine Commentaries. He also signed to support the appeal for the rescue of Falun Gong practitioner Jiang Renzheng, who was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp within a week of being repatriated to China by the German government.

Another gentleman wanted to donate money to Falun Gong practitioners. After he learned that Falun Gong practitioners do not accept donations, he kindly treated the practitioners there with coffee and snacks.

A woman who has just come from China said that she had never heard of this situation. She repeatedly asked about the facts of the persecution and took some truth-clarification material home.

A young man from the IGFM told practitioners that we must let him know when and where Falun Gong activities are held, and he would be more than happy to help out. He always carries copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party with him so as to give them to those who are interested.

India: Schoolteachers Recommend Falun Dafa (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, more and more Indian schoolteachers in Baineshwara have benefited from Falun Dafa and witnessed the positive changes that Falun Dafa has brought to schoolchildren. They have then started to recommend the practice to other schools.

About one and a half years ago, several practitioners went to a school in Baineshwara to promote Falun Dafa. The school principal often talks about the positive changes that Falun Dafa has brought to the children and recommends Dafa to other schools.

Recently, a practitioner was invited by the principal to introduce Falun Dafa to a schoolteachers' study camp, which gathered 60 schoolteachers from different areas in India. Before this invitation, the principal had invited me a few times to introduce Dafa to schoolchildren.

The practitioner enlightened to the importance of cooperation with other practitioners. He immediately contacted a practitioner in Sri Lanka who once expressed interest in taking part in activities to spread Falun Dafa. With the Indian practitioners' continuous righteous thoughts, the Sri Lankan practitioner obtained a visa and arrived on time with two more practitioners. What happened to the practitioners was very interesting: The practitioner's flight was delayed and thus many people applied for a refund. Consequently, the plane not only had extra seats, but the fare was very cheap. Therefore, two other practitioners who saw the practitioner off at the airport then decided to join the trip at the last minute.

In the end, four practitioners from Bangalore and three practitioners from Sri Lanka went to the study camp to introduce Falun Dafa. When the principal saw us, especially the Sri Lankan practitioners, he was very touched. He praised the practitioners in front of the schoolteachers for keeping their word and highlighted the story of the Sri Lankan practitioners. After the introductory class, the schoolteachers told the practitioners: "Falun Dafa is really good." They said that they could see the glory of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" from these practitioners.

The Sri Lankan practitioners said that they had never had such an opportunity to introduce Dafa and clarify the truth to so many people. Several days later, the principal invited the practitioners to introduce Dafa to another study camp of 200 schoolteachers. Four local practitioners then went to the study camp site to introduce Falun Dafa. They stayed overnight so that they could go to another study camp as well.

In the first study camp, as the organizer felt very good after he learned Falun Dafa, he invited practitioners to spread Falun Dafa at Kolar, where they often hold schoolteacher study camps. That study camp organizer has now become a very diligent practitioner. In addition, his wife who also works at a school invited me to spread Falun Dafa to her school.

We hope that more and more schools will get to know Falun Dafa.

Taiwan: International Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Paintings Exhibit and Falun Dafa Practitioners' Validating the Fa Photo Exhibit Come to Miaoli (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 9-14, 2005, the International Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Paintings Exhibit and Falun Dafa Practitioners' Validating the Fa Photo Exhibit came to Miaoli, and were displayed at the Performing Arts Hall of Tongxiao Synthesizing Activity Center. The activity was sponsored by the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association and Taiwan Culture Foundation, and was recognized and supported by over a dozen officials from local businesses and other organizations. Guests present included the town mayor, county councilors and the director of the Women's Association.

The activity began with the Flag and Drum Troupe's performance from NTDTV, which was followed by wonderful performances given by the Shen Yun Dance Group and the Tongxiao Community Folk Dance Group. There was also singing and dancing from the Xinpu Primary School and performances from the National Music Society from the Tongxiao Primary School. The audience gave all the performers warm applause.

Professor Liu Zheng-yi made a speech on behalf of the Falun Dafa Association. He stated that the photos displayed in this photo exhibit depicted Falun Dafa's wide spread around the world, and the journey of validating the Fa walked by millions of Falun Dafa practitioners. The paintings displayed in the exhibit were from outstanding artists who are bringing wonderful traditional arts to the Taiwanese people. Besides, as cultivators, these artists display Falun Dafa's purity and peacefulness through their personal experiences and their understandings of life. They also demonstrated their great compassion and forbearance in exposing the brutal persecution of Falun Gong taking place in Mainland China.

Mayor Wu of Tongxiao mentioned in his speech that it was a blessing for Tongxiao that the international Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Paintings Exhibit and Photo Exhibit could come to Tongxiao. If everyone could follow the standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to treat people and deal with conflicts, he believed that society would be harmonious and everyone would live a more happy life.

Using Art to Tell People about the Truth Results in Positive Response and Admiration

The photo exhibit had three parts: First, scenes of practitioners' group practice before the persecution; second, exposing the despicable methods employed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Falun Gong, and practitioners' truth clarification efforts; and third, support and recognition awarded by different governments after having learned the truth of Falun Gong and the persecution. There were 140 works displayed in the photo exhibit. They captured important historic moments, displayed the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa cultivation and the arduous journey of resisting the persecution. The photos were witness to the cultivators' steadfast belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and to their unyielding spirit.

There were five parts: Part One, Buddha's Light Illuminates Heaven and Earth; Part Two, Assimilating to Dafa, Returning to Our Original True Self; Part Three, Life's Witness, Righteous Belief Exists Forever; Part Four, Spreading the Truth, Calling for Justice; Part Five, Good Will be Rewarded and Evil Will Reap Retribution, Just Trial.

These paintings manifest the harmony and peace that come from practicing Falun Gong. They also depict various torture methods used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China, and the journey of Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeals held around the world that call for bringing perpetrator Jiang Zemin to justice for persecuting Falun Gong.

Numerous people from nearby areas came to appreciate the exhibit. Many more people came after being told about it by their family members or friends. Many people were moved by the realms depicted in the works, and gasped in admiration. Some people expressed that it is inconceivable that there is such a brutal persecution taking place in China.

A married couple from Taizhong came in after seeing many banners about the exhibit while passing by outside the exhibition hall. Through the exhibit guides' introduction, they were amazed to learn that there are so many outstanding artists among Falun Gong practitioners.

A retired principal of a primary school expressed with emotion after visiting the exhibit that Falun Gong is cultivation of one's xinxing. It delivers many benefits but not a single harm to society, yet it suffers such a persecution. He sympathized with and admired practitioners who tell the public about the persecution using art and photo exhibits.

Many people showed their deep sympathy after viewing several paintings depicting Falun Gong practitioners' children who suffer tribulations in Mainland China. When they learned that there was a signature collection activity at the entrance to the exhibition hall, they all signed their names, and hoped to do their best to help these children who have lost their parents' care under the persecution. They hoped that they would soon receive good care.

The exhibits on Saturday helped the Taiwanese people learn that the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is still going on. Everyone who learned the truth was willing to extend a righteous hand and hoped to put an end to the brutal persecution soon.

Australia: Falun Gong Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa at Tulip Festival in the Southern Highlands (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Over the last two weekends, Falun Gong practitioners came from Sydney, Goulburn and Canberra to join local practitioners for "Tulip Time" in the Southern Highlands of Australia. In Corbett Plaza, Bowral, practitioners demonstrated the set of five exercises that were introduced into China in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi.

Falun Dafa became very popular in China because people benefited greatly from this beautiful practice. On July 20 1999, former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin began the persecution of Falun Gong. The 610 Office was set up, with the sole mandate to "Eradicate Falun Gong." For being a good person and living by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, one could be illegally jailed, thrown into a labor camp, tortured and killed.

Six years later, there is a different leader in China, the Chinese economy is booming and all foreign countries want to hop on the financial bandwagon. But at what cost? The persecution still runs rampart, with thousands of practitioners of Falun Dafa killed, families bankrupted, mothers raped and young children left homeless to fend for themselves.

Falun Gong is now practiced in 78 countries around the world, including in the Southern Highlands in New South Wales Australia. State MP Peta Seaton, who is very supportive of Falun Dafa and was judging the parade, commented on how beautiful our Fa boat float was as we participated once again in the "Tulip Time Parade." Practitioners proudly displayed banners to a very appreciative crowd of onlookers. As we marched through the town, it was as though we were engulfed in a great benevolent field.

Last Saturday, the "Journey of Falun Dafa" photo exhibit was displayed in Corbett Plaza, where locals and tourists could see firsthand the facts of the persecution. A musical performance by a practitioner enhanced the impact of the display.

Photo Exhibition: "Falun Dafa Disciples Validating the Fa" in Yunlin

The photo exhibition, "Falun Dafa Disciples Validating the Fa" received warm feedback during its tour around Taiwan. This exhibition opened in the Yongguang Agriculture Center of Gukeng Agriculture Association, Yunlin County. The one hundred forty photos in the exhibition captured historic moments showing the benefits of Falun Dafa and showed the facts of the persecution. A chorus performed to call for support in rescuing Falun Gong children orphaned by the persecution in China. Crowds of people stopped by the exhibition and watched the performance. The exhibition lasted sixteen days.

According to the sponsor of the exhibition, Falun Gong has spread in more than seventy countries and areas since it was introduced in 1992. One hundred million people practice Falun Gong. The Chinese Communist Party ordered the suppression of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Falun Gong practitioners around the world have been supporting their fellow practitioners who are under persecution in China. Falun Gong's peaceful appeals to end the persecution over the past six years have garnered worldwide attention.

The themes of the photo exhibition are the "Benefits of Falun Dafa" and "Facts of the Persecution." There is a moving story behind every photograph. Many kind people who viewed the exhibit were touched and showed their concern. The brutal and inhuman persecution still continues. The photo exhibition hopes to awaken people's conscience and sense of justice.

A charity sale and music and dance performances were held concurrently to rescue children of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China. Young practitioners dressed in beautiful dance costumes distributed postcards and told people about the persecution. They told how Falun Gong practitioners' children were forced to leave their schools or homes and were subjected to discrimination in Mainland China. The children asked the audience to please help them come to this free county and help them get the care they deserve.

The art exhibit included music created by Falun Gong practitioners, a chorus, dance performances and Chinese classic art. The audience rewarded practitioners with warm applause. Crowds of people learned of the beauty of Falun Gong through the practitioners' performances.

Spreading the Fa at Religion Expo

It was a fine day on October 16, 2005. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in a large-scale Religion Expo in Dounan, Yulin. The Falun Gong practitioners' dance and music performance at the Expo attracted a lot of attention.

A chorus comprised of Falun Gong practitioners sang songs created by their fellow practitioners. Traditional dance and national instruments carried the beauty of Falun Gong's principles to the audience. The waist drum troupe's precise movements, resonant drumming and song attracted many people. The audience was also fascinated by the practitioners' smooth movements and soft music in the exercise demonstration.

People were impressed with the peace and beauty found in Falun Gong practitioners and felt that Falun Dafa is great from the bottom of their hearts.

Dafa Disciple's Understanding of Mercy

"The mercy exhibited by our Dafa disciples today has never been achieved by any beings before in their cultivation. A Dafa disciple--a most magnificent, merciful being--is the most remarkable and most merciful in every environment of human society, and is beneficial to other beings. Isn't this how you should be when you clarify the truth?"

From Master Li Hongzhi's lecture, "Teaching the Fa at the Great Lakes Fa Conference in North America."

I'd like to share with fellow practitioners how to view our Fa-rectification journey with the mercy of a Dafa disciple. Whenever I encounter interference or persecution by other people, I regard it as the time to upgrade myself in my cultivation. I treat it as an occasion for those who would cause trouble to listen to the truth, get rid of any incorrect understandings they may have and choose the right path for their future. Thus, I always embrace such situations with happiness and express gratitude to them because the tribulations they impose on me allow me to upgrade myself in many ways.

I regard them as people who have a predestined relationship with me, those whom I should offer salvation to. Therefore, no matter what they bring to me, I am happy in my heart. In Zhuan Falun, Master told us:

"...If your mind is always that peaceful and compassionate, when problems suddenly come up, you'll usually have a buffer and room to think it over. But if your mind is always thinking about disagreeing with other people, fighting over this, over that, then I'd say once you run into a problem you'll start fighting. I guarantee it. So, when you get into a conflict, I'd say it's meant to transform the black matter in your body into white matter, into virtue."

I think very little of the persecution, because it has been arranged by the old forces. We should never recognize any persecution, and should completely negate it, since it should not be allowed to exist. We offer salvation to people. The things that happen in the world have their own reason behind them, and everyday people can never destroy the Fa. Ordinary people cannot determine anything in these matters and no one is qualified to test the Fa. With the protection of Master and Dafa, the numerous righteous gods guarding the Fa, and the gong we have cultivated ourselves, no one is able to touch even a finger of ours. In front of a true cultivator, evil is nothing. Master has told us:

"All of this is merely to use the evil's performance to solidify Dafa and remove cultivators' fundamental attachments so as to free cultivators from the shackles of humanness and karma." (Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts)

Learn to Cultivate

(Clearwisdom.net) A fellow practitioner encountered many tribulations in her life and was confused. Her six-year-old son has been sick and on the verge of death several times over the past few years, and each time he was fortunate to survive. She was frightened and shocked. Why does a cultivator in the Fa-rectification period have these large tribulations?

This is my impression about her: She has firm belief in Dafa and also contributes a lot financially. She spends almost all her savings in making Dafa truth clarification materials. She was removed from her post at her work because she did not give up the practice of Falun Gong. She is very active and enthusiastic in clarifying the facts to people. Then what were her weak points? First, she did not have a solid understanding of the Fa and could not calmly study the Fa. Secondly, she did not know how to cultivate. Although she studied the Fa, clarified the facts and sent forth righteous thoughts, she did not truly cultivate and did not make any improvement. Here I want to talk more about her second issue.

First we should distinguish which thoughts are not ours but come from postnatal notions Only through calmly studying the Fa can we distinguish them easily.

I would like to talk about my understanding of cultivation. My understanding is that during the process of cultivation, if we eliminate all human notions, we will reach our goal. The more we eliminate, the faster our cultivation will be. Then how do we get rid of these attachments?

Master is merciful and has already taught the Fa clearly. In 1999, Master clearly told us in "Teaching the Fa at the Eastern U.S. Fa Conference"

"Question: I am aware of the state of my xinxing, and at the same time, I sense that I have demon nature. How should I eliminate my demon nature?

Teacher: That's actually an excellent state. In other words, you're able to sense the bad side of yourself, so you should repel it, resist it and reject it. You should repel it from your mind, not follow those thoughts, and stop doing those bad things. Then you are cultivating and improving--that's called cultivation."

I will summarize my understanding: During cultivation in the Fa-rectification period, we should first check whether or not each of our thoughts and ideas conforms to the Fa. We should not acknowledge it if it does not conform to the Fa. We should immediately eliminate it and have it disintegrate with our righteous thoughts.

For example, the practitioner was always worried about her child getting sick. For one, she did not have a clear understanding of the Fa so she did not realize the real reason for the "illness" of a practitioner's child. On the other hand, she viewed the thought of worrying about her child getting sick as being her own thought. In fact, when an abnormal condition happens to a practitioner's child, it is usually caused by the parents not being diligent in cultivation for a long time or even having obvious xinxing problems. Of course it could be that when you are more attached to the child's health with everyday people's notions, the child will be more easily interfered with by bad things and appear to be ill. If you have any fear, it [the evil] will take advantage of it. Thus the child's sickness karma appeared frequently. The mother felt on the surface that she could not let it go even if she wanted to. In fact, her unclear understanding on the Fa caused it. Master said that there are two reasons why gong doesn't increase with the practice: "Without knowing the Fa at high levels, one cannot practice cultivation. Without cultivating one's inner self and one's xinxing, one cannot increase gong." (from Zhuan Falun, 2000 translation version) Thus when we experience long-term tribulations from the same problem, we should remember to pay attention to the above two aspects.

Moreover, this practitioner had been followed by police and agents before. It happened a long time ago and does not happen any more. However, she thinks that it is still happening. Master said,

"There is another type of person. Someone was told in the past that he had spirit or animal possession. He felt that way as well. However, upon having it removed for him, his mind still worries about it. He always thinks that the condition still exists. He still thinks that it is there, and this is already an attachment called suspicion. As time passes, this person may bring it to himself again. One should give up this attachment, as this spirit or animal possession no longer exists." (From Zhuan Falun)

Actually this kind of "suspicion" is not from her. Since it is interference from karma and external factors, we should send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate it, have it disintegrate, and at the same time study the Fa well and improve our xinxing.

After Practitioners Helped Me Come Out of Delusion, I Helped Other Practitioners to Step Forward

(Clearwisdom.net) I live in Henan Province and I started to practice Falun Gong in March 1999. In October 1999 and then again in June 2001, I was forcibly sent to a brainwashing center. In August 2003, because I used my own printing factory to print Dafa truth clarification materials, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials confiscated my printing facility and thus ruined the factory. I was imprisoned once again in a detention center for 98 days.

After getting out of the brainwashing center, I felt lost for quite a long time. I had nowhere to find Teacher's articles, and I dared not communicate with other Dafa practitioners. Whenever I thought of the so-called guarantee statement that I wrote for the CCP under intense pressure to give up my belief, I felt ashamed and unworthy of Teacher's forgiveness. I felt hopeless every day, and I could do nothing about it.

Fortunately Teacher did not discard me, and fellow practitioners did not forget me either. Through their help, I was able to read Teacher's new articles. In "My Version of a 'Stick Wake-up'", Teacher said,

"In Fa-rectification all of the cosmos's final, remaining things will be born anew as they are disintegrated and re-created, and the moment when the Fa rectifies the human world draws ever nearer."

I was deeply touched by these words. How splendid it will be when the Fa rectifies the human world! As a person who has a predestined relationship with Dafa and a practitioner, how could I miss this unprecedented opportunity? No, I cannot miss it! But, once I thought about the so-called "guarantee" that I wrote, doubts arose in my mind again. Will Teacher still accept me as a student? Can I start all over again in this situation? After thinking it over for a long time, I made a decision that I must keep up with the Fa-rectification and I must return to cultivation practice.

In September 2005, we formed a small truth-clarification group composed of about nine practitioners. Through Fa-study, we felt strongly that, in order to keep up with Fa-rectification we have to do all three things well. Right now, continuous truth-clarification and saving sentient beings are very important and very urgent. Especially after the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published, it is urgent and critical to let more Chinese people read the Nine Commentaries and recognize the evil nature of the CCP so that they can escape the bondage of the CCP, know the truth and be saved. In "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference", Teacher said,

"... and there are some who have been "transformed," they are ashamed of it, but then they're embarrassed and can't lift up their head and step forward, and they are discouraged. And then there are a number of people who are like this: they too haven't stepped forward all along, but have been hiding at home and reading [Dafa] books, and have even been making excuses for doing that, when the truth is, it's their fear at work."

Therefore, we have to encourage these practitioners to keep up with Fa-rectification as well.

After realizing this, we started to work on it. We used different opportunities to study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth. Based on our knowledge of the city streets, we posted materials in various locations in the city so that more people could know the truth about the Tiananmen Self-Immolation Incident. We gave Teacher's new articles to fellow practitioners. We gave the Nine Commentaries to some 610 Office officials and their family members, as well as mailing them materials that reported the truth about the Tiananmen Self-Immolation Incident. Meanwhile, some practitioners traveled to neighboring cities and counties to help more practitioners to step forward, clarify the truth, and distribute truth-clarification materials.

Our efforts produced good results. Some practitioners who used to be in delusion are now returning to cultivation. More people have come to understand the truth about Falun Dafa in this way. We often hear people say, "Oh, now I see what the Tiananmen Self-immolation Incident really was!" "I know someone who practices Falun Gong. Everyone agrees he is a good person. However, he was wronged [in the persecution]. Falun Gong should not be persecuted."

Through these encouraging words we are clearer that everything we do is to validate the Fa. Truth-clarification is not just something we do. It is how we think about it: we need to approach it from the perspective of saving sentient beings with compassion. We further realized that no matter what situation we are in, as long as we make good use of our opportunities, we will be able to clarify the truth well to people and save them, and we will be able to keep up with Teacher's Fa-rectification.

A 70-Year-Old Is Happy to Obtain Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) I am over 70 years old, and I come from the Lianshan District in Huludao City. Since taking up the practice of Falun Dafa two years ago, my body has changed drastically. I am thankful to Master Li. I truly feel that Falun Dafa has saved me from the bitter sea of illness and enabled me to know the bliss of health.

I obtained Falun Dafa later in life. I was diagnosed with a gallbladder infection, lachrymal (tear gland) infection, coronary heart disease, nerve rheumatism, acid reflux, and other conditions. Being sick was my life. So much illness made me lose hope. I felt that life was a pain and I wanted to die. I was growing older and less capable each year. I gradually lost the ability to work. It put a large burden on my children. Then, at the recommendation of some kind-hearted people, I started practicing Falun Dafa.

Because of my limited understanding, I was very doubtful of Falun Dafa. I thought, "If I am so sick that the hospital can't cure me, how can Falun Dafa cure me?" So I started practicing while still taking medicine. One of my conditions was inflammation of the eyes, causing my eyes to create pus. Traditional Chinese Medicine didn't work, so I took Western medicine. I wasted a lot of money but my eyes still didn't improve. In fact, the more medicine I took, the worse my eyes became. Then I realized that I am a practitioner, and Master Li said that practitioners have no sickness.

In the past, every time my tear glands were infected I would get a fever for half a month. I couldn't eat or sleep. But this time it only took three days to pass. Master Li is correct: if I take myself as a practitioner, every tribulation is just a trial. And if I raise my xinxing, I can pass it.

As I studied Falun Dafa, my attitude toward Falun Dafa changed. Now I am steadfast in the practice. Despite tremendous pressure, I will not stop cultivating. Slowly my body has recovered and I have regained my health. Other have people commented that I look younger. I feet much better inside, and my worries are gone. I have saved on medical bills and am less of a burden on my children. As I continue to study Falun Dafa I want to continue to improve and move upward.

I hereby want to thank Master Li and Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa has given me health, and it's a blessing both for me and for my children. I hope that more people can study and benefit from Falun Dafa. This is my sincerest wish.

Two 610 Office Officials from Mengyin County, Shandong Province Suffer Retribution

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Jiwen was from Sihouwa Village, Duozhuang Township, Mengyin County. Su Zhaojun was from Quanqiao Village, Duozhuang Township, Mengyin County. Both of them worked in the Mengyin County 610 Office to monitor Falun Gong practitioners.

During the period that they worked together, they treated Falun Gong practitioners with extreme violence. They often took advantage of available personnel to assist them in inflicting many different types of torture on Falun Gong practitioners without the prior arrangement of their supervisors. Some of the tortures they used on Falun Gong practitioners included the tiger bench, long-term squatting, depriving them of sleep and kicking them fiercely in case they fell asleep.

The practitioners patiently and repeatedly clarified the facts about Dafa to them and told them the principle that "good is rewarded with good and evil meets retribution," but, these two never restrained their behavior.

On January 23, 2004, Zhang Jiwen, who was only 23 years old, was hit by a car and died on the spot near the turnabout of Donghuan Road in Mengyin County. The driver immediately fled the scene. Zhang Jiwen's body was left on the street and no one made inquiries.

On June 3, 2005, Su Zhaojun, who was only 28 years old, underwent surgery twice due to cancer. Before the stitches from the first surgery were removed, he had to undergo a second surgery because of serious intestinal adhesions. The treatment proved to be ineffective. Ultimately, he died, leaving behind his wife and three-year-old daughter.

On September 14, 2005, Mr. Li Yinhui, at Wangbo Village Elementary School in Wangzhuangzi Township, was arrested by officers from the Langfang City 610 Office, Cai Shaoyong from the Bazhou City 610 Office, and officials from the Bazhou City Culture and Education Department, and the Culture and the Education Office in Wangzhuangzi Township. The authorities immediately sent Mr. Li to the brainwashing center in the Jiaotong Hotel in Langfang Ctiy.

Ms. Wang managed to escape.

The officer then swiftly arrived at Ms. Jun Xia's home and arrested her. Ms. Jun is being held at the Guan County Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Zhu Fenghe, a Retired Teacher from Yuying Middle School, Secretly Arrested

On the morning of September 8, 2005, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Feng, a retired teacher at Yuying Middle School in Beijing, was arrested at her home after the Haidian District police received reports about her being involved with Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Daying County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Hu Changqiong Unlawfully Sent to Labor Camp; His 4-Year-Old Son Sent to Senior Home

Mr. Hu Changqiong, 60, is from Team 1, No. 2 Xinqiao Division in Daying County, Sichuan Province. He was arrested after being turned in to the police for writing truth-clarifying signs. Mr. Hu has been sentenced to one year of forced labor. His 4-year-old son has been left unattended and has to be sent to a senior home.

6. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ji Shuhua from Danling County Suffers Cruel Torture upon Arrest

Ms. Ji Shuhua, in her sixties, is from Danling County in Meishan City, Sichuan Province. Around 9:00 a.m. on August 30, 2005, officers from the Meishan City 610 office and those from Danling County arrested her at her home. She has been held at Panglinxian Resorts in Guangji Township, Meishan. Around 3:00 p.m. on September 5, 2005, Ms. Ji's family was granted a visit. They found that she had suffered numerous injuries and was in very bad shape as a result of torture.

7. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Guo Yulong from Liaohe Oil Fields Arrested; His Home Ransacked

Mr. Guo Yulong from Liaohe Oil Fields lives in the Xinglongtai area in Panjin City, Liaoning Province. On September 14, 2005, officers from Liaozhong County and from the Xinglongtai area arrested him. They also searched his home. Mr. Guo is being held at the Yangshigangzi Brainwashing Center in Liaozhong County.

8. [Shanghai] Ms. Xu Hanming Taken to a Detention Center by Local 610 Office

Ms. Xu Hanming, in her sixties, lives at Room 404A, No. 32, Lane 329, Xinhua Road in Shanghai. On the morning of September 13, 2005, officers from Changning District and from the local 610 Office broke down her door and arrested her. The officers searched her home and videotaped the entire process.

9. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Feng Yuqiong and Ms. Liao Liqing Unlawfully Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Feng Yuqiong, from Duanzhou in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province was arrested in December 2004. It has been reported that she has been sentenced to six years in prison. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms.Liao Liqing, from Huaiji in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, was arrested in April 2005 for writing signs saying "Falun Dafa Is Great." She has been sentenced to three years in prison and is being held at the Huaiji Detention Center.

10. [Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Shuyun from Shenyang Railroad Construction Company Arrested

Ms. Zhao Shuyun, 45, is an employee of the Second Project in Shenyang Railroad Construction Company, Jilin Province. Around 11:00 on August 24, 2005, Ms. Zhao was arrested at her workplace because she practices Falun Gong. She is being held at the Jilin City No. 3 Detention Center.

Around 4:00 p.m. on September 13, 2005, officers sent from the Fujin City Police Department in Heilongjiang Province arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Haitao at his home.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yan Tingzhen Under Persecution at Wanjia Forced Labor Camp

On June 30, 2005, Ms. Gu Tingzhen, a graduate student, was illegally arrested and taken to a detention center by Zhang Guofang, Head of the Dongli District State Security Division, Wang Yi from the local police station and another police officer. Ms. Gu went on hunger strike in the detention center to protest the illegal arrest. In mid-July, she was forcibly sent to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province and is serving a two-year term. Ms. Yang is being held at a maximum security team in No. 12 Division.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Officials in Changqing Garden Community Break in Through Windows to Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners

Around 2:00 p.m. on September 15, 2005, officials of the Changqing Garden Community and officers from both the local police station and from the Wuhan City Police Department arrived at Mr. Yang Jun and his wife's home at Room 201, Unit 2, Building 16, Village 8, Section 2, Changqing Garden Community to arrest the couple. Mr. Yang and his family refused to open the door. The officials called in a vehicle from the Changqing Garden Fire Department. The set up the ladder and used a welding torch to cut apart the anti-theft steel screens outside Mr. Yang's bathroom windows. At 4:30, they broke through the windows and entered his home. They arrested the couple and half a dozen guests, most of whom are elderly women, including Ms. Huang Xiaoying, and the elderly Ms. Yuan.

Ms. Huang Xiaoying is a dancer in the Wuhan City Opera and Ballet Troupe. After arresting her, the officers searched her home in Section 4 of the Changqing Garden Community.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Wang Peng Suffers Six Months of Excruciating Torture

On March 7, 2005, Li Xingtao, deputy leader from the No. 4 Division, the National Security Team and the Changchun City Police Department led a group of more than ten policemen to "illegally arrest" practitioner Wang Peng at the Changchun City Automobile Factory. Wang Peng was later interrogated at the No. 1 Division, Changchun City Police Department while being tortured. He was deprived of sleep for five days in a row. After being tortured for over 40 days at the police department, Wang Peng was transferred to the Tiebei District No. 1 Detention Center, Changchun City. Wang Peng and several other practitioners there staged a hunger strike and resisted the persecution. They were later brutally force-fed. Personnel at the detention center inserted a tube through their nostrils into their stomachs and administered a cold, high-density saline solution. As an even more cruel torture, the police put Mr. Wang in a straitjacket. (Several Falun Gong practitioners have already been killed by being immobilized in straitjackets at the Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province).

Wang Peng has been held for over six months now and is extremely weak. His family members haven't been allowed to visit him. The authorities fabricated a crime to frame Mr. Wang. Zhang Nan from the Archive Office, Procuratorate Bureau, No. 1 Automobile Factory not only refused to release Wang Peng but also sent Wang Peng's file twice to the No. 7 Team, No. 1 Division of the Changchun City Police Department, as so-called supplemental evidence.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Shang Yuping and Sun Jinfang Suffer Severe Torture at the No. 1 Women's Detention Center

Police from the No. 1 Division of the Jianghan District Police Department arrested five practitioners from Wuhan City, including Shang Yuping and Sun Jinfang. Three days later, Shang Yuping and Sun Jinfang were transferred to the Wuhan City No. 1 Women's Detention Center and have been held there to date. During that period of time, Sun Jinfang staged a hunger strike to protest her unlawful detention and was so violently force-fed that she lost several teeth. She is now extremely weak and is unable to do any work; however, the guards said "she was just pretending" and forced her to work. A guard by the last name of Jin is an extremely vicious person and incites inmates to beat practitioners at will.

At present, Sun Jinfang is manifesting symptoms of serious ill health.

3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Arrest Liu Li from Home

At around 6:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2005, a group of policemen suddenly surrounded practitioner Liu Li's home in Changxi, Longfeng District, Daqing City. Liu Li refused to open the door. The police called a locksmith and then forcibly opened door and ransacked the place. They turned everything upside down in all the rooms, including the balcony. They confiscated a computer, a printer and some office supplies. Liu Li was so traumatized that she fainted. The police called an ambulance to send her to the Daqing City No. 5 Hospital. Later they took Liu Li directly to the Longfeng District Police Station for interrogation. At present, Liu Li is being held at the Daqing City Detention Center. Her family members are not allowed to visit her and her situation is unknown. Plainclothes policemen are patrolling around her home, and whoever goes to her home will be questioned.

Liu Li used to be an employee of the Longfeng Baojie Cleaning Company, Wanlong Property, Daqing City Oil & Chemistry Company. She is an honest and pure-hearted person. She was once awarded the title of "Outstanding Worker." After the persecution against Falun Dafa started, she didn't give up her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and persisted in clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa to people. Ms. Liu was held in detention for over a month. As she refused to give up Falun Dafa cultivation, Liu Li lost her job in 2000. In addition, personnel from her place of employment and from the local police station periodically harassed her, in person or by phone. In April 2004, Liu Li opened a small childcare center. She loves children very much, so lots of children call her "Mommy." Because of her sincere hard work, her business thrived. In addition to Liu Li, the authorities also arrested Feng Ying whom she had hired to assist in her daycare business. Feng Ying was released later, on the same afternoon of the arrest. Her childcare center was forced to close. Almost 30 children left reluctantly.

4. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Liu Ruiyou Arrested; Police Officials Ransack Home

At around 11:00 a.m. on October 8, 2005, six policemen arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Ruiyou from Huangqipu in Anqiu City and ransacked the practitioner's home. Liu Ruiyou was taken to the Huangqipu Police Station. The police confiscated a computer, an ink-jet printer and a laser printer, seven boxes of printing paper, one box of self-adhesive paper, a paper cutter, a box of ink, a lamination machine, four tape recorders, a Falun Dafa truth-clarification tape, Falun Dafa books, and all the cash in the home. Liu Ruiyou's family was trying to stop them, but a low-ranking police officer in charge said, "We will take anything!"

5. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Former Falun Gong Practice Site Contact Person Meng Xianglong Still Under House Arrest

On June 21, 2005 Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Meng Xianglong from Jingmen City, who was just released after serving a five-year sentence, was taken away again by personnel from the 610 Office. They sent him to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Class because they insisted he had not given up the practice of Falun Gong. Ten days later, Mr. Meng was sent back home, but there was no freedom for him since the police monitored him around the clock. Once, Meng Xianglong sent some cash to a relative at a local post office. A few days later, his relative replied that he hadn't received the money. The Meng family went to inquire at the post office, but personnel there answered, "The police took the money away as soon as he left." When they asked at the police department, the police said, "We will monitor Meng Xianglong's every action."

Meng Xianglong was an official at the Local Tax Administration Bureau in Jingmen City, but he has been fired because he practices Falun Dafa.

6. [Liangshan Area, Sichuan Province] 610 Office Authorities Keep Trying to Sentence Eight Practitioners

On May 26, 2005, when eight Falun Dafa practitioners, including He Xianqun, Mao Kaiming, and Lu Zhengguo, from Xichang City in the Liangshan area went to rural Leibo County to clarify the truth of Falun Gong and distribute the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, personnel from the local State Security Department arrested them. In June, the State Security Department submitted "incriminating evidence" to the Leibo County Procuratorate Department, but the prosecutor rejected the case due to insufficient evidence. In August, the State Security Department submitted the incident to the prosecutor again, but it was rejected the second time because of insufficient evidence. Personnel from the Liangshan area 610 Office and from the Police Department have reported the case to the Provincial Government for processing.

7. [Pingyi County, Shandong Province] Married Couple Zhang Yuzhi and Pei Linying Arrested and Their Home Ransacked

During the afternoon of August 14, 2005, a white car stopped in front of the home of practitioner Mr. Zhang Yuzhi in Shangshenjiawa Village, Liuyu Town, Pingyi County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. Four plainclothes officers in their 40s came out of the car and walked into Zhang Yuzhi's home under the pretext of asking for driving directions. They talked with Zhang Yuzhi's wife Ms. Pei Linying, and then all of sudden, before the couple realized what was happening, they dragged the couple into a car. The four plainclothes policemen turned the couple's home upside down. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, some truth-clarifying materials, Pei Linying's August salary card worth 2,000 yuan, a bank deposit book worth over 5,000 yuan, 3,200 yuan in cash, a compact size audio tape player and a radio receiver. The gang took the couple to the Liuyu Town Police Station. They handcuffed the couple for a whole night. They then sent the couple to the Pingyi County Detention Center. Pei Linying has been on a hunger strike for 15 days since her arrest, to protest the unlawful detention. Later, she was sent to the Jinan City Forced Labor Camp. Zhang Yuzhi was put under house arrest and was extorted out of 5,000 yuan.

8. [Jingyu County, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Practitioner Zhang Fengqin and Ransack Her Home

On the morning of October 4, 2005, officers Ma Jing and Feng Baoqiu from the Political and Security Section of the Jingyu County Police Department in Jilin Province went to ransack practitioner Ms. Zhang Fengqin's home, using the excuse of having found some Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the county. Though they did not find any materials at her home, they arrested Zhang Fengqin and put her in the Jingyu County Detention Center. Zhang Fengqin has been on a hunger strike for five days in protest.

9. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Over Twelve Years of Imprisonment

On September 12, 2005, four practitioners, Ms. Hu Zhehui, Mr. Hou Yunfei, Mr. Xin Minduo and Ms. Bao Juncen were secretly sentenced to 15, 14, 13, and 12 years of imprisonment, respectively, in the Xinglongtai District Court, Panjin City, Liaoning Province.

On October 8, though practitioner Hu Zhehui could not take care of herself because of the torture she suffered, the perpetrators sent her to the Shenyang City Women's Prison Complex. The prison refused to admit her because of her bad health (heart problems, high blood pressure, and hyper-cholesterol). Thus, she was sent back to the Panjin City Detention Center. Ms. Hu has been staging a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She has not had any food or water since August 3. The police torture her by brutal force-feeding.

Hou Yunfei was sent to the Jinzhou City Prison and the other three practitioners are still being held at the Panjin City No. 3 Detention Center.

10. [Shanhaiguan City, Hebei Province] Li Xianhua Arrested For Mailing Truth-Clarifying Materials

In mid-September 2005, practitioner Li Xianhua from Heilongjiang Province was arrested for mailing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the Shanhaiguan Developing Zone, which is the eastern area of the Qinhuangdao City Developing Zone in Hebei Province. He is presently being held at the Qinhuangdao City Shanhaiguan Detention Center, known as the City No. 3 Detention Center.

11. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Further Information about Practitioners on Hunger Strike in the Baoding City Detention Center

Practitioners Zhi Zhanmin, Wei Haiwu, Zhang Rongjie, Yang Jinying and Liu Yongwang are still being held at the Baoding City Detention Center. In order to protest this persecution, Liu Yongwang, Wei Haiwu and other practitioners there are on a hunger strike. Someone said that Wei Haiwu and Liu Yongwang's situation is critical. Liu Yongwang has been on the hunger strike for 44 days. His lower limbs are in continuous pain and are numb. He can't walk without help.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Bai Yuqin and Li Fengjie Arrested For Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials

Practitioner Bai Yuqin and Li Fengjie are from Yushu Township, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. During the night of October 5, 2005 when they went to Chaluzi Village in Yushu Township to distribute truth-clarifying materials, Gao Zhenyuan and Dong Xianwei, officers from the Township Police Station, arrested them and put them into the Xinbin County Detention Center. Later, lawless policemen searched Li Fengqin's house. Ms. Li's husband tried to stop the unlawful arrest, but policeman Gao Zhenyuan brutally beat him.

13. [Muleng City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Falun Dafa Materials Production Centers Destroyed

On September 23, 2005, two policemen from the Mudanjiang City National Security Team went to Muleng City and forcibly arrested practitioners Gu Yan, Zhang Yanfen, Liu Huidi, Liu Yan, Wang Limei, Li Yuzhi, Sun Shiwei, Lu Shuqi and Kou Qiang. They were taken to the Muleng City Detention Center. The perpetrators have destroyed several Falun Dafa truth clarification materials production centers. The police are interrogating practitioners day and night, depriving them of sleep.

14. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Tian Junhua Arrested and Her House Searched

At about 9:00 p.m. on October 6, 2005, personnel from the Wuyi Road Police Station arrested practitioner Tian Junhua from the family residential yard of the Zhangjiakou City Finance Bureau. At about 3:00 p.m. on October 7, five or six policemen searched her house. Tian Junhua is currently being held at the Shisanli Detention Center.

15. [Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province] Zheng Meiqun Is Captured and Taken to the Huangang Brainwashing Class

On September 30, 2005, policemen from Shaoguan City's 610 Office arrested practitioner Zheng Meiquan. Zheng Meiquan is currently being detained at the Huanggang Brainwashing Center.
