Hu Jintao Arrives in New York, Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal for an End to the Persecution (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of September 13, 2005, as Hu Jintao arrived in New York, Falun Gong practitioners held a large-scale peaceful appeal in front of the UN and Waldorf-Astoria Hotel where Hu was staying.

Early in the morning, practitioners gathered near the hotel. Their bright yellow T-shirts bearing the words, "Falun Dafa is Great," and "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong" were extraordinarily eye-catching in the stream of people in Manhattan.
Huge banners with red words on a yellow background reading "Falun Dafa is Great," and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" in both Chinese and English created an impression of compassion and solemnity.
A large banner with white words on a blue background contained 16 huge placards, each carrying one Chinese character. It read, "Hu Jintao, the time given to you by God and the people is limited." The message conveyed was clear and definite, and could be seen clearly from across the street.
There were two more huge banners that terrified the malicious people. They bore the messages, "Bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to Justice," and "Bring the Vicious Police and Others Who Persecute Falun Gong to Justice" in both Chinese and English. They sternly caution people that Good and Evil will receive due retributions. These malicious people who have been ruthless and inhumane in persecuting Falun Gong will definitely be severely punished in a court of law. Persecuting cultivators who believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" will definitely be punished by heavenly principles as well as by justice in the human world.
Hu Jintao enters the hotel
As we expected, Hu Jintao attempted to enter the hotel stealthily from a side entrance, paying no regards to the hundreds of hired welcome team members waiting for him on Park Boulevard. Several big and sturdy men were arranged to come with the delegation from China and wave flags to greet Hu when he was about to enter the hotel from the side entrance. As head of the CCP, why would he take such great pains to avoid people welcoming him? Wise people all know that those who are truly concerned about Hu are Falun Gong practitioners. Why not take a good look at Falun Gong practitioners' kind thoughts with honor and dignity? Please be sure, "Hu Jintao, the time given to you by God and the people is limited."

Carefully reading facts about Falun Gong
The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel is located in mid-Manhattan, and there is always a steady stream of people passing by. Many predestined people saw Falun Gong practitioners' banners, accepted materials from practitioners and carefully read them. As a practitioner was passing out "Falun Gong Today" at an intersection, a middle-aged, well-dressed man accepted a copy, and asked what it was about. The practitioner told him Falun Gong is about cultivation practice related to meditation. Tens of thousands of people in China are suffering persecution for persisting in this beneficial cultivation practice. The man asked what he could do to help. The practitioner told him to tell more people to call for an end to the persecution, because the CCP wants to suppress the American people's voices of justice by means of doing business. The man understood and took another truth-clarifying newspaper and said he would do so.

Wherever Hu went, there was always a "welcome team" composed of hired overseas Chinese who have not learned the truth, and also a large number of Chinese people from Mainland China.
Falun Gong practitioners stood right beside these welcome team members. Most of the people had to pass by practitioners so as to reach their designated area. They could see all of the banners clearly. Practitioners also patiently clarified the facts to them, telling them, "For the sake of dignity and purity, refuse to welcome the CCP."

In order to let predestined people get a better understanding of the truth, Falun Dafa practitioners rented 35 trucks, each carrying Falun Gong truth-clarifying banners in both Chinese and English on the left and right sides and back. The messages on the banners read, "Falun Dafa is Great," "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Great," "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong," "Hu Jintao, the time given to you by God and the people is limited," "Bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to Justice, " and "Bring the Vicious Police and Others Who Persecute Falun Gong to Justice." The U-hall trailers drove around the streets, which created an impressive, moving scene.
A gentleman came over and said, "Have your trucks drive more times here, that one is so good.
Some officials from the Chinese Embassy came to the Falun Gong practitioners' appeal site in front of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel to exert pressure on the police. Dafa practitioners maintained steadfast, sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil elements behind these people while clarifying the truth to the police. Hu has been in office for over two years, but the inhumane persecution of Falun Gong is still going on. Tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners inside China have been deprived of all opportunities to have their voices heard. We cherish this precious opportunity very much, we only hope that Hu can learn the truth, and immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong. The police expressed that they have learned about Falun Gong and showed sympathy for Falun Gong. They also expressed repeatedly that the designated area for Falun Gong practitioners was the best location they could find, and also was nearest to Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
Practitioners also told the police that we are neither protesting nor welcoming Hu; we simply hope that Hu and all Chinese people will learn about the facts of Falun Gong, and have a beautiful future. So we wanted to be together with the welcome team. The police approved our request.
Over the next two days, Falun Gong practitioners will continue appeal in front of the UN and the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.
Chief Perpetrator of the Persecution Zeng Qinghong Visits Hong Kong, Practitioners Protest and Release a Public Statement (Photos)

In the past few days, Hong Kong practitioners have held a series of activities to protest during his visit. The practitioners have eliminated interference numerous times from the Hong Kong police, who have received huge pressure from the CCP, and managed to display banners bearing messages in close proximity sternly warning Zeng to immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong.

On September 12, regarding Zeng's visit to Hong Kong, Falun Gong practitioners released a public statement, exposing Zeng's severe crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong, and urging the Hong Kong people to see clearly that welcoming such a criminal is not at all acceptable. The statement explicitly pointed out the evil intentions of the CCP, which is attempting to take down the people with it as it meets its end. The statement called upon party members and people from all walks of life who still have a conscience to quickly break away from the CCP and its evil politics, and stay far away from the lies and violence, so as not to lose their beautiful future under the heavenly principle that good and evil will receive due retributions.

Supporters seek to raise awareness of persecution
Falun Gong supporters - one just 11 years old - spoke out Sunday against the Chinese government's mistreatment of practitioners at Big Spring International Park in Huntsville.
"I really wanted to go to my friend's house," said Ashley Wei, 11, of Memphis when asked why she was with the group. She paused for a moment, then added, "But I really think saving orphans is more important than playing."
"I'm lucky to have my daughter with me," said her father, Edward Wei. "If she were in China, she would be expelled from school."
According to Falun Gong supporters, more than 2,700 practitioners of the Tai Chi-like exercises and meditation may have died in China since the Communist Party started its persecution campaign in 1999.
Those who died often leave children behind, some of whom have also been persecuted, Falun Gong supporters say.
When Ashley was 6 years old, she was still in China, her father said. She was told Falun Gong "was not good" and ordered to denounce her parents, who are Falun Gong practitioners.
"How can you do that?" asked the computer engineer. "It's like brainwashing."
Fortunately, the Weis were able to move to the United States.
Several youths and their parents participated in the Rescue Falun Gong Orphans Van Tour, which began Saturday in Birmingham. The tour stopped here Sunday and was scheduled to end Sunday night in Nashville, according to Jason Wang, a Huntsville Falun Gong practitioner who helped organize the event.
Alabama A&M Professor Wade Yang of Huntsville has personal experience with the mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners.
His mother, 68, was sent to a forced labor camp, but she continued to try to practice the exercises and meditation. Yang said his mother, as punishment, was forced to squat for 18 hours without a break.
After two years in the camp, Yang's mother was released. Four months ago, she was able to get a visa and is now in Canada, Yang said.
"If some practitioner doesn't cooperate, they get into this type of plight," he said.
Judy Li of Atlanta was filming the tour for New York-based New Tang Dynasty TV. She's been following the group for the past two days. The NTDTV "reports lots of these human rights issues," she said.
A little after 10 a.m. Sunday, a press conference began. The audience consisted of Li, a newspaper reporter and occasional passersby.
The youths spoke about Chinese mistreatment of children and their parents who practice Falun Gong. There were quotations from Anne Frank, who died in a Nazi concentration camp, and comparisons to the Holocaust.
Joe Johnson of Huntsville and several others walked by the dozen or so parents and children. They stopped to listen. Johnson hadn't heard of the Falun Gong before, but he was sympathetic.
"I think they need support," he said. "It's kind of sad this type of stuff is going on in this world."

A group of Chinese adults and teenagers held a news conference yesterday in downtown Nashville to draw attention to persecution in China and its effects on children.
"This is an effort to raise awareness of Falun Gong children in China. They lost their parents. They lost their homes and in many instances they are not able to go to school," said Jason Wang of Huntsville, Ala. "Many of their parents were sent to psychiatric wards, detention centers and labor camps."
Wang was among a dozen demonstrators who assembled outside the old Nashville library, which houses Metro's City Hall.
The group toured Southeastern cities this weekend to talk about the Chinese Communist Party's 6-year-old attempts to suppress [Falun Gong.]
Based in New York City, Falun Gong is practiced in 60 countries. Li Hongzhi, a former government employee who lives in the United States, introduced the spiritual practice to the public in China in 1992. [...]
"Falun means law wheel, and Gong means the cultivation of energy and capabilities," according to the University of Virginia's religious movements home page, which has detailed profiles of more than 200 religious groups and movements. The social and spiritual movement, also known as Falun Dafa or "Great Law of the Wheel of Law," purports mental acuity, physical fitness and spiritual purity achieved through meditation and exercises.
"The orphans in China are innocent and do not deserve to be persecuted," said Ashley Wei, 11, of Memphis.
"We need to help them and bring them to America."

24 Hours Vancouver, Canada: Protesters ready
Protesters worried that Canada will trade away human rights values will hit the streets for Chinese President Hu Jintao's Vancouver visit.
Sue Zhang of Falun Gong says members will protest the religious group's persecution in China and send a message to Canadian government, next Saturday.
"Because of trade, Canada might be reluctant to raise human rights," Zhang said. "We hope Hu Jintao can take the wise step to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and Canadian government can demand China stop this."
However, Zhang dismissed any fears of clashes with authorities protecting Hu.
Andrea Hayley, president of The Chinese Research Association, says China masks human rights abuses to pave the way for Western trade, and she will join protesters publicizing the current Falun Gong suppression.

Coming for You Every Year: Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong at the California State Fair (Photos)

The California State Fair is three weeks in duration. This year was the 152nd fair, held in Sacramento, California's capital. It concluded on September 5, 2005, Labor Day. During the fair, Falun Gong practitioners displayed truth-clarifying photos and materials at the Falun Gong booth, which was set up in the "free speech" region outside the front gate. Practitioners also demonstrated Falun Gong exercises and spread the message of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" to more people. They especially called to rescue children who have been orphaned in the persecution of Falun Gong.

Each year, the grand California state fair, including trade and commercial activities as well as entertainment, attracts nearly one million people from the local and surrounding areas. Local Falun Gong practitioners have obtained approval to set up a display booth in the "free speech" zone each year since 2000. The "free speech" zone was especially arranged by the state fair and it is free of charge. The objective is to allow people to freely express their opinions and ideas.
Throughout each weekend of the fair over the past six years, the beauty of Falun Dafa, which originated in ancient China, and the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China were spread out from here. From the introduction of Falun Dafa in China to the worldwide spread of the practice, from the persecution of Falun Gong in China to support from all over the world, from the rescue of American citizen Charles Li to the rescue of orphans of Falun Gong practitioners, from the multiple lawsuits against the man who started the persecution, Jiang Zemin, to more than 4 million people quitting the evil Chinese Communist Party, people have had the chance to learn the facts at this fair.
After listening to the facts about Dafa, people's confusion gradually disappeared. More people expressed that they've heard of Falun Gong and that they were aware of the persecution. Standing in front of the booth, you would often hear, "Oh, I've read about it (reports on Falun Gong) in some magazines", "I took your material already, thank you!" "Was the American citizen (Charles Li) released?"

As soon as she saw the English Falun Dafa banner a lady immediately took out a piece of paper and asked a practitioner to take a look. She asked the practitioner whether what she had was related to our Falun Dafa. The practitioner found that the piece of paper had related information about Dafa. The lady said that she met a practitioner who introduced Dafa to her. She was excited and happily surprised.
A visitor hurriedly passed by and read out, "Falun Gong." Others with him also immediately said, "Dafa! Falun Gong!"
When practitioners practiced the Falun Gong exercises beside the booth, innocent children were most likely to be attracted. They would ask their parents, "Are they real?" A 7-or-8-year-old girl watched for a while. Before she left, she walked closer to a practitioner who was practicing the exercises and said, "You look so great!" Such a lucky child. We hope this peaceful scene will remain in your childhood memory. Please remember, "Falun Dafa is great!"
A family came to visit the state fair. Upon seeing practitioners practicing the exercises, the father borrowed a mat from a practitioner and wanted to do the meditation. However, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to sit in full lotus position. His trying also aroused the interest of his son and daughter who stood by his side. The young mother could not help smiling. The children's innocence also moved passersby. In fact, several eye-catching photos depicting young children practicing Falun Gong exercises were displayed besides them at the time. Those young children were so lovely. Unfortunately, at present, one can only see this kind of scene outside China.
The music, "Pudu" and "Jishi," that were composed by Dafa practitioners, resounded and purified people's hearts. Interestingly, when a practitioner turned on the music, he asked a tourist whether the volume was too high. The tourist immediately responded, "Not at all!" He pointed towards another booth where there were people singing and playing musical instruments and said, "They are truly noisy!" A young child said from nearby, "Such beautiful music." The child did not want to leave. A practitioner gave him a music CD. His father asked whether he could play it in his car and persuaded his son, "We can listen in the car okay?" At this point, the little boy agreed to leave. There were quite a few stories like this.
During the entire activity, under Master's protection and practitioners' righteous thoughts, everything went quite smoothly. There was almost no interference. In the end of August, it was still very hot in Sacramento. Practitioners who stood under the scorching sun felt cool thanks to the purity of their hearts.
Upon seeing the photos which show how practitioners were cruelly tortured, an American boy who was nearly ten year old was astonished and blurted out, "Persecution!" Yes, it is persecution! The most ruthless and evil persecution in human history is still happening and is being covered up by lies.
Year after year, as long as the persecution continues, we'll come here again.
Taiwan: Big Hands Hold Small Hands -- Truth Clarification and Signature Collection in Pingtung Schools (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Pingtung held truth clarification activities and collected signatures in elementary schools and kindergartens to help rescue orphans of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China. Innocent children couldn't understand why policemen in China would arrest Falun Gong practitioners and their children. Directors and teachers helped us clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the children. Kind-hearted and with a great sense of justice, the children signed their names to be sent to President Bush to call for support of Falun Gong orphans. Even those who can't write yet drew pictures to express their good wishes. It was a very moving event.

The first stop in the signature collection campaign was Meijin Kindergarten. The young director of the kindergarten, Mr. Shi, graduated from a university in the United States. Falun Gong practitioners told him that many Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China had been illegally detained and tortured just for practicing Falun Gong. Almost 3,000 practitioners have died from the persecution. Many children have lost their parents and were forced to leave their homes. After learning about the persecution, Mr. Shi made arrangements for the signature collection activity and helped with videotaping it. He said, "I hope the Chinese government will respect human rights, stop persecuting its people, give [Falun Gong] practitioners freedom and spread the benefit of Falun Gong to every corner of China."
The second stop in the signature collection activity was Hongyu Kindergarten. Most of the children there had learned about Falun Gong before. They know that "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" is good. One little girl kept crying after watching the video about the persecution. She asked why policemen would beat practitioners and throw them into jails. She couldn't understand. Many children shared this question. The kindergarten director and teachers helped us explain what was happening in China. All the children signed their names or drew pictures to be sent to President Bush.
Falun Gong practitioner also went to Huiqiao Kindergarten and Qiaoyong Elementary School, which are 100 kilometers from the town. Some of the teachers there had been to a Falun Gong workshop in Qiaoyong Elementary School. Teachers and children in Huiqiao had learned the Falun Gong meditation during a morning break. They all identify with the principles of Falun Gong and gave the practitioners great support. The practitioners collected signatures and donated a photo album, "Journey of Fa-Rectification" to the library of Qiaoyong Elementary School.
This activity gave us an opportunity to meet many kind adults and children and to hear their sincere call to help the children under persecution. Let's hold hands together, young and old alike, and support the rescue of the orphans of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. We hope the day will come soon when they can live happy lives like other children in the free world.
Facts of the Persecution
Ms. Liu Shufen in Critical Condition at the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison
(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Shufen from Daqing City, Helongjiang Province, has been illegally held in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for three years. She has suffered physical tortures such as being hung by her handcuffs and her cuffed hands had to support her entire body weight. On June 6, 2005, Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She has been on the hunger strike for more than two months now, and her life is in a very precarious state. Ms. Liu might die at any moment.
Ms. Liu is 31 years old. From December 18, 2002, to January 8, 2003, while Ms. Liu was incarcerated in the prison, she still tried to practice the Falun Gong exercises. As a result, those in charge locked her in a tiny cell, handcuffed her behind her back, or lifted her upside down with her legs in the air. From March 12, 2004, to April 8, 2004, Ms. Liu was again thrown into a tiny cell with her hands cuffed behind her back 24 hours a day. She was not allowed to clean herself and was only given cornmeal to eat. On May 12, 2004, Ms. Liu refused to wear a prison nametag and was hung by prison guards Liu Yan, Sun Rui, and Zhou Ying. From December 13 to 21, 2004, four regular inmates were told to monitor Ms. Liu. They would handcuff her whenever they felt like it, and the handcuffs cut into Ms. Liu's flesh. Ms. Liu was not allowed to sleep or even visit the restroom. These inmates abused Ms. Liu mercilessly. From March 15 to August 1, 2005, Ms. Liu was again locked in a tiny cell just because she wanted to practice the exercises. Ms. Liu's physical health has deteriorated greatly.

Ms. Liu used to work in the Hongyun Chengfeng Shopping Center, which is managed by the Daqing City Transportation Company. Her family lives in the No.6 Chengfeng District of Daqing City. Her family used to be in very poor health. When Ms. Liu was around eight years old, she developed an external tumor on her head. She suffered extremely painful headaches from the tumor, and her mother used to take her to see doctors in Beijing, Shanghai or Qingdao City. No one could give a diagnosis. Ms. Liu started to take numerous medicines, but there didn't seem to be any improvement. Her father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and her mother was diagnosed with many kinds of ailments. Ms. Liu's mother became very weak. As soon as she began to do a little bit of housework, she would be covered in sweat and have to lie down and rest. Occasionally, her mother's condition would become so serious that she couldn't even cook meals for the family. The whole family was very bitter about their illnesses. In 1996, the whole family started to cultivate in Falun Dafa, and the miraculous powers of Dafa made Ms. Liu and her mother's excruciating pains go away in a very short period of time. Ms. Liu's father's physical health was also greatly improved. They all eventually started to live a happy family life.
In 1999, Jiang's regime started the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa. Numerous practitioners lost their families and loved ones. Ms. Liu and her family were also affected.
In October 1999, Ms. Liu began to appeal for Falun Gong. She also kept on practicing the exercises and telling people the true nature of the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong. As a result, Ms. Liu was illegally fined, arrested and detained. Eventually, she had to wander around the country, homeless, to avoid arrest. In the end, Ms. Liu was sentenced to prison. When Ms. Liu's parents witnessed the persecution of their beloved daughter, their hearts were completely broken. Her father's physical health deteriorated day by day. He can no longer take care of himself and is incontinent. Whenever someone visits the family, this 78-year-old gentlemen inevitably asks the visitor, "Do you know when my daughter is coming back home?"

Ms. Liu has always followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" in her daily life. Her honesty and kindness has touched the hearts of every person who has met her. Everyone claims that Ms. Liu is such a good-hearted person. Yet, such a good citizen is now being illegally detained in a prison and experiencing brutal persecution just because of her persistence in her own belief.

We urge all righteous people to help by giving shelter for to kind and innocent victims and upholding justice in the world. In particular, your call or letter will greatly encourage Ms. Liu, who is in an extremely difficult situation, and will help Ms. Liu get out of prison sooner and re-unite with her family.
Here is a recap of Ms. Liu's persecution experiences.
On October 25, 1999, Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong but was brought back by officials from her work unit. Ms. Liu was then illegally detained in the Daqing City Detention Center for one month. On June 18, Ms. Liu was illegally subjected to house arrest and held in her work unit for 10 days due to her participation in a group exercise event. She was not allowed to visit her family during her house arrest, and she was forced to do physical labor. On December 5, Ms. Liu went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally detained in Beijing City's Miyun Detention Center. Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike and was released after six days..
On December 13, 2000, police officers from Chengfeng Public Security Station in Daqing City ransacked Ms. Liu's home and illegally detained her in the Daqing City Detention Center for one month. They then transferred her to another detention center. In that detention center, Ms. Liu started a hunger strike and demanded that she be released without any charges. As a result, she was force fed, but six days later she was indeed released without any charges. During the detention period, she was forced to pay 175 yuan for food expenses. Ms. Liu continued to practice the exercises while she was being detained, so the center guards instigated other criminal detainees to insult and beat her.
On January 24, 2001, Ms. Liu went to her hometown in Shandong Province to visit her relatives. Local public security agents illegally arrested and detained her there. It was learned later on that Daqing City officials had ordered her arrest. Ms. Liu was then detained in Haiyang City Detention Center for two days. After that, officials from her work unit came and took her home. They extorted 200 yuan from her for food expenses. On April 21, 2001, Ms. Liu bought a louder speaker in order to help validate Dafa. Someone tipped off the security agency and Ms. Liu was again arrested. She was held in the detention center for one month. During her detention, Ms. Liu didn't cooperate with the evil forces at all. Because she went on hunger strikes, she was beaten and verbally abused by the guards. They force fed her and fed her intravenously.
Later on, Ms. Liu was released from the center after a physical examination conducted at a local hospital. The authorities then pressured Ms. Liu's work unit officials to monitor her. At the same time, they prepared documents trying to step up their persecution against her. In order to escape from the persecution, Ms. Liu decided to leave her home and move from place to place. When officials from Daqing City Public Security Department and other local security agencies ransacked Ms. Liu's house, they took away two sets of Teacher's lecture CDs and one cassette recorder worth about 500 yuan.
In May 2002, Ms. Liu was arrested while she was still homeless. She was brought back and detained in the Daqing City Detention Center. Ms. Liu started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The hunger strike lasted more than 120 days. On September 16, 2002, the Daqing City District Court secretly sentenced Ms. Liu to 10 years in prison, although the sentence was later reduced to eight years. Ms. Liu was then sent to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison. In the prison, Ms. Liu suffered various tortures such as hanging, being locked in a tiny cell, having her legs lifted into the air, being handcuffed behind her back for 24 hours a day, sleep deprivation, refusal to use the restroom, and many other physical abuses and brutal treatments. From March 15, 2005, until early August 2005, Ms. Liu was kept in a tiny cell at all the times. As a result of such isolation, Ms. Liu's physical health deteriorated seriously. Since June 6, 2005, Ms. Liu has been on yet another hunger strike to protest the persecution.

American Citizen in Hong Kong Hires an Attorney to Rescue Her Mother, Who Has Been Illegally Sentenced to Serve Time in a Forced Labor Camp in China (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yuan Yuju is a 62-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Sichuan. She is a retired technician from the Lutian Chemical Group in Sichuan Province. Since July 20, 1999, the local police have repeatedly harassed her at her home. They also tapped into her phone line and eavesdropped on her telephone conversations. In addition, she was denied the right to visit her daughter in Hong Kong. Not long ago, the police illegally detained Ms. Yuan and sentenced her to one year in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong, Sichuan Province. As soon as her daughter Ms. Liang Zhen received the news, she expressed her intent to hire an attorney on her mother's behalf. She will also try everything she can to have her mother and older brother released.

According to Radio Free Asia's report on August 19, 2005, Ms. Liang Zhen is an American citizen living in Hong Kong. She has been working as a reporter for New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) in Hong Kong for almost three years. During an interview with Radio Free Asia, Ms. Liang said that her mother, Yuan Yuju, and her older brother Liang Jinghui, still live in Sichuan Province. Because they both practice Falun Gong, the police in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province detained them on July 19, 2005 and accused them of obstructing justice and involvement with Falun Gong. After a month of detention, her father received a notice from the local authorities on Thursday, August 19 that Yuan Yuju was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp and transferred to Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong, Sichuan Province. As for Liang Jinghui, he is still in police custody.
According to Liang Zhen, her mother was sentenced without any legal proceeding. She was denied any chance of defense or hiring a defense attorney. Moreover, Chinese laws allow family visits, but her family has been denied all requests to visit her. "They told my family that unless my mother and my brother 'behave well,' they won't grant any family visits. In other words, my family won't be able to see my mother and my brother unless they give up practicing Falun Gong."
Liang Zhen added that she had learned from Minghui.org/Clearwisdom.net that Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong has detained over a thousand Falun Gong practitioners and is infamous for torturing them. Liang Zhen is overcome with worry for her mother's safety and life.
What type of place is Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp? Since 2000, it has illegally detained over 1,000 female Falun Gong practitioners. There is a team of disciplinary staff assigned to supervise and torture Falun Gong practitioners. Some of the guards there are extremely sadistic. Their methods of torture are completely inhumane. Every Falun Gong practitioner detained there has suffered from various degrees of physical punishment and torture. Several have been tortured to death.
In Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp, the torturers force every Falun Gong practitioner to read books and articles slandering Falun Gong. When they refuse to comply, the officials will handcuff them and subject them to the following tortures: beating them with spiked clubs, shocking them with stun batons, forcing them to stand for a long time, and/or denying them sleep for a long time. Even when a Falun Gong practitioner's feet become swollen, festering and discharging yellow fluid, or even when she passes out, the staff will not stop the torture.
The torturers also force Falun Gong practitioners to practice Tai Chi and physical exercises. When a Falun Gong practitioner refuses to comply, they will subject her to a round of brutal beating until she does. When she is beaten into unconsciousness, the torturers will pour a bucket of cold water over her to wake her up and then continue the brutal beating or other forms of torture. Sometimes the torturers will order two prison inmates to drag a Falun Gong practitioner face down around the track. Even when her head, face and the flesh on her body have been severely abraded and deformed, the staff will not call off the torture. Sometimes they have one or two dozen prison inmates take turns dragging a Falun Gong practitioner's body on the track until she gives in and agrees to practice Tai Chi.
Each Falun Gong practitioner must ask for the torturers' permission before she may use the bathroom. If she refuses to ask for permission, they are not allowed to use the bathroom at all. Then the torturers will force her to eat her own feces. If she refuses to do so, they will make prison inmates force-feed her with her own feces.
If a Falun Gong practitioner goes on a hunger strike to protest the torture and humiliation, she is subjected to punitive force-feeding. The torturers brutally insert thick plastic tubes into a Falun Gong practitioner's throat and force-feed her with saturated salt water. They often end up inserting the tubes into her lungs and the force-feeding causes damage to her lungs. When a Falun Gong practitioner is in mortal danger, the camp's doctor will only have a quick look and send the dying practitioner home. Some practitioners passed away within a few days after they were sent home. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Yufang is one of the many examples.
Violence and torture have become the norm in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong, Sichuan Province. The policemen there have turned the place into their private torture chamber and have absolutely no regard for the law. They take sadistic pleasure in torturing Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Gong Suying is one of the many practitioners tortured to death there.
How My Son, Wu Chunlong, Died as a Result of Torture at the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp

My son, Wu Chunlong, was born on December 11, 1976. In 2003 he started working in a barbershop. Simply because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong, he was twice illegally detained in a forced labor camp. The first time was on November 3, 1999. Wu Chunlong was put in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp for three years, where he was severely tortured. One time in the winter, when the temperature was -20 C, the police dragged him outside, took off all of his clothes, poured cold water on his body and left him outdoors in the freezing temperatures for over two hours. His third year in the labor camp he was handcuffed for the entire year. When the three-year term was up he was not immediately released. Instead, he was sent to a detention center. Policeman Wang from the Songjiang local police station demanded 595 yuan from me before releasing my son.
On November 8, 2003, Wu Chunlong started a barbershop in Jiafang. At noon on November 11, officer An Quanzhi from the local Yingjun Police Station rushed into the barbershop and took Wu Chunlong to the local police station without any reason. That evening, citing uncooperative behavior on Wu Chunlong's part, he sent him to a detention center. Afterwards they sent Wu Chunlong to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp for another three years. Two months later, policeman Guo Gang called me and said that Wu Chunlong was seriously ill and needed treatment. He told me to bring money to the labor camp. I arrived at the forced labor camp the next day. I found Guo Gang and gave him 200 yuan, but Guo Gang said, "You go back home and wait for our phone call!"
I didn't hear from them after I went back home.
On April 28, 2005, the labor camp had someone inform me to talk to Diao Yukun. Diao Yukun told me, "Wu Chunlong is seriously ill. We have discussed this with our management. You go home and get some money and we will send him to a hospital for an examination." That afternoon, Guo Gang and Diao Yukun came to my home and said, "Chunlong needs a physical examination; it normally costs 2,000 yuan. Since your family doesn't have much money, you may give us 500 yuan." I said, "We don't have money; even if it is only 200-300 yuan we would have to borrow it." For the sake of helping my child I went around to the neighbors and borrowed 300 yuan. The labor camp officials took the money.
On the evening of April 30, Diao Yukun came to my home and told me, "Chunlong can go home to be treated, but you must write the guarantee statement." I was eager to see my son; therefore, under Diao Yukun's instructions I wrote the guarantee statement. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to see my son. Diao Yukun made a phone call, and after a while Yang Chunlong and another young policeman arrived with my son. They put Wu Chunlong down and left hurriedly. I saw that Wu Chunlong's face was swollen and his body was only skin and bones. His consciousness was not clear either. His vision wasn't active and he did not respond to conversation. Under the careful care of his relatives and friends he gradually came to eat a little and his physical health gradually became a little better. He enjoyed some short-term recovery of his consciousness, but frequently recalled the torture he experienced in the labor camp. At that time he told me the following:
On March 17, 2005, at about 9:00 a.m., Wu Chunlong and others were sorting beans in a workshop when political head Yang Chunlong called him to the office. Yang said to Chunlong, "Stand against the wall! Do you know why I called for you?" By then, division head Liu Hongguang led some other guards into the office. They told him to take off his clothes for a body search. A police officer hit Chunlong's face with his fist and then several policemen beat him together, and shocked him with an electric baton. Chunlong was beaten so severely that he lost his hearing. After that they put him in a single cell alone and continuously monitored him. While imprisoned in the single cell, he was once so severely beaten that he became incontinent, even soiling his clothing and bedding.
Because the police so savagely abused him he started a hunger strike to protest. The police would force-feed him and he would vomit it up. Chunlong noticed some undigested pills in the vomit. Chunlong continued the hunger strike for over 20 days. During his hunger strike he requested to see personnel from the procuratorate and from the camp administration staff so that he could appeal to them. The police didn't respond to his requests and instead instructed prisoner Wang Fu to torture Wu Chunlong. Wang Fu frequently tortured him while sitting on his body. Chunlong was knocked out several times. Chunlong was suddenly awakened one day from pain and found Wang Fu digging his hand into his left shoulder.
Once, Wang Fu moistened a towel with a thin layer of excrement and squeezed it into Wu Chunlong's mouth. While only semi-conscience, Wu Chunlong was often awakened by the towel being squeezed into his mouth. When Wu Chunlong awakened fully they would drag him to the bathroom and douse him with cold water. After some people saw that Wu Chunlong had been beaten to such a degree they told the police, "Wang Fu is torturing Wu Chunlong." The police replied, "Wang Fu is trying to help Wu Chunlong eat a meal."
The above is just a fraction of what Wu Chunlong suffered and was able to recall. Wu Chunlong often said, "I died many times in the camp." On May 19, a person from Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp went to the local Songlin Police Station and told the deputy head Yin Xiaodong to monitor Wu Chunlong. On the morning of May 20, Yin Xiaodong came to my home and demanded that Wu Chunlong go to the local police station to record his personal information. He also told him to report to them once a month, and threatened that as soon as Wu Chunlong's health got better he would be sent back to the forced labor camp. Furthermore, he forced Wu Chunlong to apply for a temporary residency card and took his photograph.
Because Yin Xiaodong frequently came to harass him, Wu Chunlong decided to leave home and his mind was profoundly affected. Chunlong fell into a panic-stricken state and his spirit nearly collapsed. He gradually ate less and he became thinner and thinner. His high fever didn't come down and it became difficult for him to breathe. His mind was often unstable; he couldn't recognize his own relatives and friends; he was in a state of terror.
On July 2 I took my son, whose situation had become increasingly serious, back home.
On July 20, Yin Xiaodong came to my home once again and was hard on my son. I wasn't at home at the time. He ordered me to go to the local police station the next day. I do not know what he said to my son, but my son was seriously traumatized once again. His spirit completely collapsed; he was unable to eat anything, and he became incontinent. The next morning I went to the local police station. Yin Xiaodong gave me an inkpad to make an imprint of Wu Chunlong's palm. Because his hands and feet were seriously swollen, I was unable to make it. Wu Chunlong's situation became more serious day after day and I didn't have the money for medical treatment. At 2 o'clock in the morning on August 20, he left this world.
I appeal to have the murderer punished that killed my son in the persecution.

Exposing the Crimes of Police Officer Song Lili at the Beijing Women's Labor Camp
(Clearwisdom.net) Police officer Song Lili in Division 2 of the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp has tortured and poisoned Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Guifu and deprived her of sleep. Song stated the abuse was to "keep her mind clear longer." Ms. Liu has bruises all over her body. She is very weak both physically and mentally due to the abuse she has suffered.
Song Lili never listened when Falun Gong practitioners clarified the truth to her. In spite of what she was told, Song invented many cruel tortures in order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief. For example, she stabbed Falun Gong practitioners with awls, stabbed their scalps with the tips of ball point pens and pointed out, "Doing it this way, torturing people like this does not make noise." Other inmates who were instructed to monitor Falun Gong practitioners could not even stand watching her torture them; they called her the most evil police officer in the division.
Officer Song Lili became worse since she was transferred to the "closely restricted unit." Song came from Inner Mongolia. She was in the Administration Sector of the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp and was sent to Division No. 4 as a helper in 2003 during the SARS outbreak. Drug abuser Wang Jing was then in Division No. 4. Song encouraged Wang to abuse all of the Falun Gong practitioners. She often urged drug abusers to torture Falun Gong practitioners as well. Song is responsible for the persecution Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu has suffered.
Practitioners in the "closely restricted unit" are all firm Falun Gong practitioners. After suffering long-term inhuman persecution in other divisions, they did not give in, so they were transferred to the "closely restricted unit" for more intense persecution.
After Ms. Liu Guifu was sent to the No. 2 Unit (the closely restricted unit), the labor camp would not allow her family members to visit her. Recently, under pressure from international community, the labor camp allowed Ms. Liu's family members to visit. When they did, they saw bruises and scars on Liu's arms, many of which had healed. It was not hard for them to imagine how many more bruises on Liu's body were covered by her clothing. This might be why the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp officials forbade any family visits for several months. Yet, some bruises turned into permanent scars that could not be covered up. Ms. Liu was healthy and youthful looking before her arrest. When her family visited her, she looked emaciated and old and had lost at least 40 pounds.
Song Lili monitored practitioner Ms. Liu's meeting with her family members and stopped her conversation several times. Yet, Ms. Liu was able to tell her family some details about her suffering, such as: that the bruises were the result of the police inciting drug abusers to torture practitioners; that the drug abusers gagged her with rags when torturing her to keep her from crying out; that she was force-fed unknown drugs; that she felt dizzy, weak and vomited dark fluid after taking the drugs; that she was only allowed to sleep for four hours each night, from midnight to 4:00 a.m.
Song Lili's explanation for force feeding Ms. Liu drugs and forbidding her from sleeping was, "This way she can keep her mind clear longer." Song also said to Ms. Liu's husband, "How could you tell others that I asked you divorce your wife? I was just kidding." Her husband said, "You were not kidding."
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Guifu lives in the Haidian District in Beijing. She started practicing Falun Gong after listening to a speech by the founder of Falun Gong. Since she persisted in her practice, the police arrested her at home again on February 28, 2005. The police did not find any information on her personal PC, nor did they find any Falun Gong materials at her home; yet, they sentenced her to two and a half years in a labor camp for "possessing 21 Falun Gong flyers." Ms. Liu's daughter Ms. Meng Xiangji, is a student at Purdue University in the USA. She has been working to rescue her mother since she learned about the arrest.
Ms. Liu Guifu is in critical condition! We hereby strongly request the following: first, stop all kinds of persecution against Ms. Liu Guifu; second, unconditionally release her so that she can seek medical treatment; third, hold Song Lili and the authorities behind her legally responsible for all of the persecution and torture.

Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp Persecutes Dafa Practitioners Who Are Suffering Severe Illness
(Clearwisdom.net) The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province is violating Chinese law by imprisoning Falun Gong practitioners who are suffering severe illness without giving them treatment, and to make the situation worse, the labor camp is inflicting torture upon these practitioners. Ms. Zhao Shuying and Ms. Chen Aihong's experiences are some examples of this.
Zhao Shuying, thirty-eight years old, is from Wei County, Hebei Province. Before practicing Falun Gong, she suffered from severe rheumatic arthritis and was crippled. Her health condition changed for the better after her cultivation. On January 6, 2005, she was illegally detained in Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. As soon as she arrived in the labor camp, police Zhao Yuan, Li Weizhe, and Niu Lijun stripped off her clothing forcibly and gave her a body search, all the while swearing at her with dirty words.
Before the Spring Festival, Zhao was moved to a dark room. She only has her mother, who is in her 70's, and 8-year-old daughter for family, so she had nobody to bring clothes for her. She only wore an undershirt, underpants, and a work suit in the winter. Zhao was forced to search for and gather grass to feed ostriches on the snow-covered ground, which caused the joints of both of her legs to ache and deteriorate to the point where she could barely walk. After the Spring Festival, she was forced to work in a carpet factory. Because of the pain in her legs, she could not walk much and was verbally abused by the head of the group. On April 10, she suddenly passed out on the way back from work and her whole body twitched. She was carried back. On April 25, when the director of Administration of Justice in Hebei Province came to inspect the labor camp, the head of the group hid the people who suffered from severe illness. On the way to the hiding place, Zhao constantly moaned due to unbearable pain, and was beaten and kicked by Fang Bao. Zhao was taken to a vegetable field and left on a pile of dung under the scorching sun until she was on the verge of death. She was later brought into a room with a sign out in front that said "Kennel, no admittance".
On June 22, the head of the group and the women's group leader conducted a search. All of the Falun Dafa practitioners were driven into the yard under the scorching sun. Zhao Shuying could not withstand the heat and fell to the ground. Soon her whole body was twitching, but the police did not allow her to go inside. On another occasion, Zhao was crying in pain. Upon seeing this, police Zhang Jia and Li Weizhe laughed and swore at her for over one hour and would not stop until she fell unconscious. At around 6:30 p.m. on July 3, after seeing Zhao Shuying and several other patients lying in bed, the head of the group Li Yanji let loose a torrent of verbal abuse. Because of the extended period of physical and mental abuse, Zhao is suffering from several illnesses. She feels constriction in her chest, cannot eat normally and is suffering terribly.
Ms. Chen Aihong, fifty-three years old, lives in Zhangjiakou City. She was illegally taken to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp for imprisonment on March 15, 2005. The physical examination showed that she suffered from severe heart disease. Her heart rate was 137 times per minute. The electrocardiogram showed that her heart muscle was seriously short of blood and she should not do heavy labor. After hearing this, the head of the group Wei Hongling often verbally abused her.
One night in the middle of June, Chen Aihong was meditating. Police Tian Zili pulled the bed sheet out from under her, whipped her face and head violently and beat her down to the bed. After a while, she called over inmates You Yanxiao and Tian Zili, who violently kicked Chen Aihong's chest and abdomen. After getting tired from kicking Chen Aihong, Tian Zili started to shout at her, "If you meditate again tomorrow, I'm going to kill you on the spot.' As a result of the persecution, Chen suffered from a relapse of heart disease and incontinence.
On June 22, Yang Zemin lead police to search the cells. All of practitioners were driven into the yard under the scorching sun. Because the weather was too hot, Chen Aihong's heart started beating too fast and she passed out on the stairs in front of the door. But the head of group Wu Chendong shouted, "Chen Aihong is fine. She is just pretending." Zhao Yanping then started kicking Chen. In the evening of July 3, Li Yanji and Zhang Jia verbally abused Chen again. In the past several months, Chen has been living in a severe environment, and she has been badly hurt both physically and mentally.

Dafa Practitioner Ms. Su Yujin Imprisoned and Tortured in Huaiyang, Henan Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Su Yujin, a Dafa practitioner from Huaiyang, Henan Province is now imprisoned in a labor camp.
Ms. Su lived in Xincheng Village, Zhaosai Xingzheng Village, Dalian County. Around 10 a.m. on January 5, 2005, the police arrested Ms. Su at her home. One police officer got hold of Ms. Su with his right hand and pointed his gun at her head. This officer yelled, "We'll kill you, if you dare to move!"
Ms. Su was taken to the Dalian Village Police Station. Officers forcibly stuffed Falun Dafa audiotapes and CDs in her clothes, so that they would have "evidence" to arrest Ms. Su. The County 610 Office transferred her to the detention center.
In the detention center, Ms. Su refused to cooperate with the authorities' demands that she renounce and betray Dafa and went on a hunger strike in protest, which lasted 26 days. An officer named Wang Quandong said, "If you continue the hunger strike, you might as well prepare to die in your cell, because we will not release you." During her strike, the police illegally broke into Ms. Su's home and searched it twice. However, despite their painstaking efforts, the police were only able to find 3.60 yuan, which they confiscated.
The 610 Office tried twice to prosecute Su Yujin in court. Fang Ruofei illegally sentenced Ms. Su to six years in labor camp.
Ms. Su has been arrested repeatedly for practicing Falun Dafa. She sustained a similar ordeal four years ago. On the morning of September 15, 2001, police from Wangdian Village arrested Ms. Su and another practitioner for distributing truth-clarification materials in the village.
Deputy Chief Zheng Xianfang tied up the practitioners with ropes and ordered the officers to slam the practitioners against the floor. Zheng also personally assaulted Ms. Su. Zheng then took out a stack of fabricated documents against Ms. Su Yujin and sent her to the Huaiyang County 610 Office.
In the 610 Office, the officers handcuffed Ms. Su and other practitioners. The practitioners were locked in the detention center overnight. Officers Wang Quandong and Wu Jinzhong were on duty that night. Wang and Wu struck Ms. Su's face and took her to Cell No. 20.
The next morning, Wang took Ms. Su to an interrogation room. Zheng Xianjun brutally struck her face again and knocked her unconscious. When Ms. Su awakened, her limbs were shackled. This torture method is usually reserved for inmates on death row. Ms. Su was tortured in this manner for seven days.
Su Yujin went on a hunger strike for 23 days, during which time persecutor Zhang Duoshu force-fed her four times through a tube inserted down her throat through her nose. Before the last force feeding, Zhang repeatedly forced the tube into Ms. Su's nostril and pulled it in and out more than ten times and even twisted the tube to torture her further. Ms. Su was then shackled onto a bench with her limbs stretched out. The persecutors tortured her by sticking many needles in her head, legs, arms, and elbows. When Ms. Su was on the brink of death, Zheng Xianjun snarled, "When you die, we'll throw you down the storm sewer and tell others that you committed suicide. We won't release you." The Huaiyang City 610 Office participated in torturing Ms. Su and was willing to dispose of her body had she died in custody. Cheng Sigui also beat Ms. Su's arms with bamboo sticks.
After Su Yujin was released, she demanded that Zheng Xianfang return her confiscated motorcycle, but Zheng refused. Zheng further extorted 2,000 yuan from Ms. Su for the motorcycle.
Four Practitioners from Beijing, Liaoning Province and Jilin Province Died as a Result of the Persecution
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Guiqin was a 69-year-old professor employed at the Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute. She first learned Falun Dafa in 1995, went to Tiananmen Square to clarify the truth in 1999, and was detained. In July 2003, she was reported for passing out truth clarifying materials. She was arrested and sentenced to two years of forced labor. After four months in the labor camp, her blood pressure suddenly became very high, and she had to be released on medical parole. Outside the camp, she lived while hooked up to a monitoring system and was unable to practice normally, which caused her physical condition to deteriorate. She died on July 20, 2005, only few days after her term had ended.
Ms. Hou Peixin was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Yanji City, Jilin Province. In order to avoid being illegally arrested at home, she had to become destitute and homeless. This damaged her mental and physical health, and she died in 2005.
Ms. Wang Xiuying was 61 years old and lived in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province. She once had many illnesses. After she learned Falun Dafa in 1997, her illnesses were all gone. On October 26, 2002, her husband had the symptoms of a stroke and passed out. Several days later, her eldest daughter Lu Qiaoling (also a practitioner) was arrested from home and detained in Zhuanghe City Detention Center. These two incidents gave elderly Ms. Wang an elevated stress level. She suffered some sort of attack as a result and appeared sick. She died on September 23, 2003. Her eldest daughter Lu Qiaoling was arrested again on December 6, 2003, because she clarified the truth to people and is now detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City.
Mr. Zhang Shaobin was in his 60s, an official employed by the Dandong City Procuratorate in Liaoning Province. His family of four all practiced Falun Dafa. Under the brutal persecution, his wife, son and daughter were arrested, and their home was ransacked. One striking incident occurred in May 2004, when he could not take care of himself. While his wife and daughter were still under illegal arrest, the police ransacked their house. Policemen constantly went to his home to check on what he was writing, took away his notebook, and verbally abused and slandered him. In August 2004 he died as a result of this unfair treatment, without having the chance to see his wife before he died.

(Clearwisdom.net) After the "First Main Land China Falun Dafa Practitioners Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference on the Internet" was held in the Autumn of 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners around the entire world have walked solidly another year on their paths of cultivating during the Fa-rectification. During this past year, Mainland Chinese Falun Dafa practitioners have upgraded a great amount, accumulated many experiences and learned many lessons. Minghu.org (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) plans to hold the "Second Mainland China Falun Dafa Practitioners Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference on the Internet," in the hope that many fellow practitioners in China will write down their cultivation experiences during the Fa-rectification. Submit your sharing according to information listed at the end of this article.
We hope that submissions will focus on "cultivating during Fa-rectification." Practitioners should share their experiences on how to follow Master's requirements, study the Fa well, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth. Also address how to abandon fundamental attachments, upgrade xinxing, validate Falun Dafa and save sentient beings when doing these three tasks. Those who have been tortured severely can share their experiences of how to search inward, relinquish attachments, resist the persecution with righteous thoughts and righteous actions and after being released from prison, how to study the Fa carefully, correct omissions, continue on the Fa-rectification path, etc. Please do not write your papers like work reports, but share your cultivation experience.
"The Second Mainland China Falun Dafa Practitioners Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference on the Internet" will be held from the beginning of November 2005, with articles published largely on Minghui.org and Clearwisdom.net. All papers published will be chosen and divided according to regions by "the Fa-conference Working Group" of overseas fellow practitioners.
When writing, compiling, and sending papers, please treat security issues seriously by mailing reports individually, not in groups, and avoid losses due to safety omissions or attachments of doing things, or showing off.

Switzerland Pleads in Favour of Ending the Repression of Falun Gong
(Clearwisdom.net) During the Swiss parliamentary session of June 2005, Mr Luc Recordon, a national deputy, raised the question of the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese authorities as well as the case of Mrs Qiu Minghua, mother of a Chinese student in Switzerland who was arbitrarily arrested and sentenced to a term of imprisonment. Below is the official response of the Swiss Federal Council of 24 August 2005.
Switzerland pleads in favour of ending the repression of which members of some religious or spiritual groups are the victims, in particular the Falun Gong movement.
It is unacceptable, therefore, that it should be hindered in the exercise of freedom of opinion and of expression. It is even more shocking that its members are subject to arbitrary arrest, to ill-treatment and often to torture, that would be the same in the case of an organization infringing the Chinese legislation.
The Federal Council is familiar with the problems of Falun Gong in China. This movement, the ideas of which Switzerland does not judge, has been prohibited in China since 1999. Thousands of its practitioners have been imprisoned as a result of this prohibition and many of them are held in administrative detention centres. The Federal Council is aware that serious charges of torture are being brought against China. The Federal Department for Foreign Affairs has on different occasions expressed its concern to the Chinese authorities.
Miss Wang Xiaoyang, the daughter of Mrs Qiu Minghua, has corresponded with members of the Federal Council. She has been received by representatives of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs who also recently received a petition. Her mother's case is, therefore, known to the authorities and Switzerland is following closely the development of this situation. Alongside the visit of Federal Councillor Deiss, the Swiss Ambassador in China met the authorities of Suzhou - where, according to our information, Mrs Qiu Minghua is imprisoned - to express Switzerland's concern for this person.

Clarify the Truth Well with Pure Minds during Hu's Visit to North America
(Clearwisdom.net) From September 8 to September 16, Hu Jintao will visit Canada, Mexico and New York. This has provided an opportunity for Dafa disciples abroad, especially those in North America, to clarify the truth on a broad scale to people from all walks of life in the American and Canadian societies. At the same time, it also again provides an opportunity for Hu Jintao to further understand the truth in the free environments outside of China. This is a precious opportunity for a living being.
Because of Dafa disciples' joint efforts and contribution, Hu's visit to Canada has caused the Canadian government, media and public on a large scale to understand the truth even further.
Hu Jintao's next stop is New York. It is believed that more practitioners from various places will go to New York and take advantage of this rare opportunity to send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth. I want to discuss with everybody several issues in this article so we can righteously position our states of mind and better utilize Dafa disciples' compassion and righteous thoughts to save sentient beings during this truth-clarifying and Fa validating activity of historical significance.
Distinguish clearly the primary and secondary goals
Before and during Hu's current visit to North America, massive Chinese and western media attention was focused on Hu Jintao There were already related articles appearing one after anther on many overseas Chinese websites. Regarding Hu's visit, Dafa disciples should be sober-minded about the fact that Hu Jintao is only one being we want to clarify the truth to and to save. It is only his special position in this special time that makes him somewhat out of the ordinary compared to the average person. But "all ancient things have come for the Fa" (Hong Yin 2). The genuine human stage is set for Master to carry out Fa-rectification and for Dafa disciples to help Master. An average person does not play a leading role. As Dafa disciples, at any given time we must all orient ourselves toward truth-clarification, because saving people in the world is our basic mission.
While mentioning the example of the former Chinese premier in "Touring North America to Teach the Fa" (March 2002), Master said,
"Didn't it cross your mind: this is the Fa of the cosmos, so if humans want to attack it, you think they can just attack it? And if human beings want to restore our name, you think they can just restore our name? Humans aren't worthy of that! How could you pin your hopes on an ordinary person? You are Dafa disciples! Each one of you Dafa disciples represents a large, gigantic dimension. What does mankind amount to? It's only that the old forces are using it and have sealed off your greater abilities. How could you think that way about things? If all of you think that way, the old forces will see it and think: "How can they all have those thoughts? Those thoughts have to be removed, so let's make that premier turn bad." They would rather make him turn bad in order to get rid of your ordinary human thoughts. Isn't that right? The old forces have no regard for human life--if they want to kill, they'll just kill. Amidst the Fa-rectification they're only attached to their own arrangements."
Former lessons must make us more sober. We may use various kinds of opportunities which appear in society to clarify the truth, but we can in no way be attached to any person, or any event itself. Firmly clarify the truth, because truth-clarification is the golden key to save people. During Hu's visit to Canada, in addition to sending righteous thoughts and participating in the activities with pure minds, many practitioners have also fully made use of various kinds of opportunities to clarify the truth to the Canadian people and to those Chinese people who were organized to "welcome" Hu. Everybody awakened to the fact that actually a lot of these people had come to hear the truth. Not all these people came to earnestly do the "welcoming" things the Chinese Communist Party arranged, although they stood in that row. Then Dafa disciples must seize all possible opportunities to provide them with the chance to obtain the truth so that they will not have come in vain.
The contents of three banners are the manifestation of compassion and dignity
Falun Gong practitioners have given out three pieces of information during Hu's visits: "Strictly Punish Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing, and Zhou Yongkang"; "Try According to Law the Wicked Police and Bad People Who Persecute Falun Gong"; "Hu Jintao, the Time God and People Give You Is Limited". Personally I think these three pieces of information fully manifest the fact that Dafa's "Compassion and solemn dignity coexist" ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference").
The compassion lies in the following: Warn the still confused CCP officials, party members and common people, including Hu Jintao, that there is still an opportunity to become awakened. Mercifully point out the way for them to redeem the future: namely, severely punish the prime culprits of the persecution and try according to law the wicked police and bad people who persecute Falun Gong. The dignity lies in the following: Gravely indicate that those truly guilty of the most heinous crimes, who have participated in the persecution, already have no opportunities left. They will inevitably be punished by both heavenly and human principles. To try them according to law will be precisely the duty of the world legal bodies. However, if those Chinese Communist Party henchmen do not become awakened and continue to persist in the persecution, their future will also be the same as that of Jiang, Luo, Liu and Zhou, because the wicked will receive retribution. The time is also "limited."
As Falun Gong practitioners, while transmitting this information to Hu Jintao and his delegation, we must also have such compassion and dignity and be open and dignified as deities in the human world. On one hand, deliver real information for those who still persist in their errors in the maze, let them feel sufficiently the strength of the truth and fair public opinions, which are not controlled by the Chinese Communist Party. At the same time, on the other hand, we are not in a fight with humans and also not out to embarrass Hu Jintao. But in this critical historical moment, we must take the opportunity to let him know the correct choice.
In this process, our mindsets must be pure, not with any battling, anxious, irritable and restless hearts. Also, we should not be preoccupied with these things when facing those Chinese people who are organized to "welcome" Hu. We may by no means have any combativeness in our hearts. They are all people that we want to save. If our minds are not righteous, it is very possible that the old force will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to bring losses to the effort of saving people.
This requires each practitioner to commit to Fa-study and to maintain righteous thoughts during the busy activities of Fa-rectification. When problems and shortcomings arise, everybody should exchange ideas promptly, look inside, and send righteous thoughts more often to eliminate various kinds of disturbance.
The above is my personal understanding. Fellow practitioners, please point out mistakes with mercy.

My Understanding of the Perceptual and the Rational
(Clearwisdom.net) Some elderly practitioners, after practicing Falun Dafa for a period of time, have quickly recovered from serious illnesses. Some of these were long-term patients. A few had even been diagnosed with "fatal" illnesses before starting to practice. Many non-practitioners have since commented that Falun Dafa has extraordinary power. These comments have had large-scale positive effects on society.
Attaining Falun Dafa in this way is a very good start, because having strong personal feelings sets a solid background for one's future practice, but this issue has its negative side also. Having such strong feelings may later become one's biggest barrier while upgrading toward rational enlightenment with Falun Dafa.
Even though some practitioners have been practicing Falun Dafa for many years, there are those who have only gained a perceptual understanding of it thus far. Viewed from the surface, this is not apparent. It is hidden deep in their minds where it is hard to recognize. As the Fa-rectification advances rapidly, especially this year when evil spirits, dark minions, and rotten demons are facing their immediate deaths, such attachments have provided the evil forces an opportunity to rampantly persecute these practitioners.
In one recent example, a practitioner showed serious "illness karma" and was in a "critical" health condition a number of times. Through studying the Fa and sharing with fellow practitioners, he was able to realize that during this special period, such things as "illness karma" are due to the persecution by the old forces. While this was happening, the practitioner looked inward in search of the cause of his problems. On several occasions, when he went into "critical" condition, fellow practitioners circled him to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all the evil spirits that were persecuting him. This helped for one or two days, but then his situation worsened once more. After discussions amongst practitioners, we found he had a big attachment: a deep ordinary person's feeling of gratitude toward both Teacher and Dafa.
Before practicing Falun Dafa, the practitioner had a fatal disease, which disappeared when he started to practice. Since that time, he has held a deep sense of gratitude toward Teacher and Dafa. He frequently says, "Falun Dafa and Teacher have given me a second life." Though he has practiced for over ten years, he has still not advanced to a rational level of understanding Dafa. When he suffered from persecution in the form of illness, he did not realize that feelings of gratitude could become his biggest attachment. While Falun Dafa could cure his illness, his attachment to it could also provide the evil forces a perfect opportunity to persecute him.
My understanding is this: Teacher asks us to assimilate to Dafa; that is, to Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance; to negate the old forces and their acts of persecution with our righteous thoughts and actions; and to validate Falun Dafa through our cultivation, not just by showing gratitude to Teacher.
During this process, when the practitioner kept righteous thoughts, and with the help of fellow practitioners who also sent forth righteous thoughts to help him, his physical well-being returned very quickly. When his feelings of gratitude emerged, his physical health situation grew even worse than previously. When he later came to understand what was happening, he saw that he needed to get rid of his deeply rooted feeling of gratitude to progress in his cultivation. In the following, I will share with you my understanding of what is perceptual and what is rational.
I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. At the beginning, I thought, "Falun Dafa is so good. It enables people to have good health, it upgrades their morality, it makes society more secure, etc, etc." Just like one fellow practitioner said, "It has benefits for everyone and does no one any harm."
After a period of practice, I found my understanding to be too shallow. I realized that Falun Dafa is far superior to current scientific understandings. It reveals the truth of the universe and lets people become better and better. It is also a heavenly law, a Buddha law, that helps people upgrade themselves to higher levels. As I studied and practiced more, my good feelings toward Falun Dafa turned into admiration and gratitude to Teacher. Gradually, deep in my mind, I came to know that Teacher is compassionate and great. As time went by, these feelings became stronger and stronger.
As I studied Dafa more deeply, I enlightened more and more to its meaning. One day, when I realized Teacher is teaching us a bigger law than Buddha law from the viewpoint of Buddha, I felt encircled by Teacher's boundless compassion. At that moment, tears of happiness streamed down my face. I understood that gratitude to Falun Dafa and Teacher is the sentimental feeling of an ordinary person, which includes both mental concepts and complicated, impure motives.
Since July 20, 1999, due to my human mentality and lack of deep understanding of Dafa, I have made many mistakes. But, wherever I am, whether it be in a detention center, jail or forced labor camp, my faith in Teacher has never changed. No force exists that could change it. With such unshakable faith I have overcome many difficulties and hardships. Through cultivation and reading Teacher's new articles, I have gotten a better and clearer understanding of our duties and responsibilities as Falun Dafa practitioners, and also about how to do our jobs better. As I realized more things, my thoughts become wider and broader, as did my understanding of Teacher's compassion and the true meaning of Dafa. My spirit keeps on changing for the better, giving me feelings beyond what words can describe.
My experience of this never-ending process of upgrading, described just from one angle, is that no matter how highly I regard Falun Dafa or however high the esteem in which I hold Teacher, those are only understandings of one level and not the entire truth of Falun Dafa. Impure things have actually existed during all different periods, and only through having purer and more rational minds can we experience the greater beauty and power of Falun Dafa. After so many years of cultivation, my biggest enlightenment is this: Only when we no longer hold onto concepts and attachments, including any sentimental attachment to Teacher, can we finally come to understand Dafa more rationally. I am not a good writer, so fellow practitioners please correct my mistakes.
Finally let me use quotes from two of Teacher's articles to encourage us:
"Some people think that Dafa is in keeping with their own understanding of science; some people think that it agrees with their own code of conduct; some people think that it speaks to their own dissatisfaction with politics; some people think that Dafa can salvage humankind's degenerate morals; some people think that Dafa can cure their illnesses; some people think that Dafa and Master are righteous, and so on and so forth. It isn't wrong for human beings in this world to yearn with these attachments for beautiful dreams and wishes. But a cultivator definitely shouldn't be that way. You may start on the path of Dafa with those thoughts, yet over the course of cultivation you need to regard yourself as a cultivator. During the course of cultivation, however, through reading the books, studying the Fa, and diligently making progress, you should clearly recognize what your thoughts were when you first came to Dafa. After cultivating for a period of time, are your thoughts still the same? Are you continuing on the path because of those human attachments? If so, you cannot be counted as my disciple. It means that you haven't gotten rid of your fundamental attachments and that you are unable to understand the Fa from the Fa. Those who have been weeded out during the evil tests that Dafa has encountered in China are all people who have not gotten rid of those attachments. At the same time, they have had a negative effect on Dafa." ("Towards Consummation")
"It has been four years since I began teaching Dafa. Some students' xinxing and level of realm have improved slowly; they remain at the perceptual stage in their understanding of me and Dafa, always being grateful towards me for the changes in their bodies and for the manifestation of supernormal abilities--that is an ordinary human mindset. If you do not want to change your human state and rationally rise to a true understanding of Dafa, you will miss the opportunity. If you do not change the human logic that you, as an ordinary human, have formed deep in your bones over thousands of years, you will be unable to break away from this superficial human shell and reach Consummation. You cannot always count on me to eliminate karma for you while you fail to truly progress in comprehending the Fa and rise above human understandings and notions. Your ways of thinking, your understanding, and your appreciation towards me and Dafa are the product of ordinary human thinking. But what I'm teaching you is in fact moving beyond ordinary humans to a rational, true understanding of Dafa!
"In practicing cultivation, you are not making real, solid progress on your own, which would effect great, fundamental changes internally. Instead, you rely on my power and take advantage of powerful external factors. This can never transform your human nature into Buddha-nature. If every one of you can understand the Fa from the depths of your mind, that will truly be the manifestation of the Fa whose power knows no boundary--the reappearance of the mighty Buddha Fa in the human world!" ("Cautionary Advice," Essentials for Further Advancement)
Clarifying the Truth While Visiting Fellow Practitioners
(Clearwisdom.net) On August 11th, 2005, four of us went to visit fellow practitioners who were illegally incarcerated in the Women's Prison of Shandong Province. After we completed all the applications, a policewoman asked us, "Do you guys practice or believe in Falun Gong?" We did not answer her question directly. Instead, we asked her, "What does it have to do with our visit?" She said firmly, "There is a regulation from upper management; 'Do not allow people who practice or believe in Falun Gong to visit prisoners.' If I break the regulation, I will be punished." We understood that this was because the evil in the other dimension was controlling her. We did not give up, started to clarify the truth to her, and sent forth righteous thoughts continuously. After about twenty minutes, we could feel that her concepts changed a bit. However, she still refused to let us visit. She told us that she had to attend a meeting and then left.
Facing this problem, we discussed and exchanged our ideas immediately. We thought that this was not simply a problem of a rejected visit. This was really a chance for us to break the arrangement of the old forces, and clarify the truth to the predestined people here in order to save them. In addition, it was a chance to communicate with the fellow practitioners in the prison, to help rescue them and improve as one body.
After we had gotten a clear understanding of the problem, our righteous thoughts became much stronger. We asked Master to support us and help us to make the right decisions. A practitioner decided to stay outside to send forth righteous thoughts, and three of us decided to go back in to talk to the management of the prison. At this moment, a group of people was walking by. We were sending forth righteous thoughts and followed them into the main lobby on the first floor. Then we went to the fourth floor and found the administrative office. After explaining our intentions, we were led to the office of the director and met with an official who came from the provincial government office to inspect the prison works. We briefly explained the situation and mentioned that we wanted to meet with our fellow practitioners in the jail. She said, "If you believe in Falun Gong, you are not allowed to meet with them." After we peacefully clarified the truth to her, she stopped talking to us. Instead, she picked up the telephone to arrange our visit. However, she could not find the people in charge for a long time. We understood that it was interference and kept sending forth righteous thoughts. During the meeting, she asked us several times, "Do you guys also practice Falun Gong?"
During the meeting, if our minds started to fluctuate, we would quickly concentrate again. Later, the director of the administrative office was called in. We took this chance to clarify the truth to her and sent forth the righteous thoughts at the same time. After listening to our words, she said calmly, "We do not care if Falun Gong is good or bad. Even though you are Falun Gong practitioners, we could not put you in jail without a legal procedure." Subsequently, she called in the chief officer for the group where our fellow practitioners were imprisoned. We took the chance again to clarify the truth to her. Although they did not clearly show agreement or opposition, they were listening all the time. Finally, they told us that we could chat about everything except Falun Gong issues during the visit. In such a way, under the support of Master, we met with our fellow practitioners.
During the meeting with the prison management, Master kept supporting us. Our minds were very peaceful and our righteous thoughts were very strong. We persistently rejected the arrangement of the old forces and kept clarifying the truth to them in a reasonable and wise manner. Therefore, a good communication channel was established. According to regulations of the prison, we could only meet with our fellow practitioners for half an hour. However, we spent almost an hour together.
After the visit, some interference occurred. We had to spend nine hours going back home when it normally would take only five hours. We understood that we still had some problem coordinating as a whole body.
From the experience of our Jinan City trip, we gained deeper understandings about the following issues: If our intention is to save people and we firmly believe in Master and Falun Gong, all the arrangements of the old forces are nothing but illusions in this world. To validate the Fa and to save people, we should not be moved by illusions in this world or our attachments. It is very powerful to work as one body. Good coordination as one body is essential. It is our responsibility to save our fellow practitioners, and we should place more emphasis on this. We should not have the mentality of relying on ordinary people, because everything happening today is for Dafa. It is up to us save people rather than asking ordinary people to do something for us. Experience-Sharing from a Young Practitioner Before and After Being Persecuted in China
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a young Falun Dafa practitioner in Mainland China. I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. At that time my thoughts were relatively pure. Having studied Falun Dafa, I understood more about how to be a good person. Therefore, according to Master's requirements, I considered others first, and was strict with my own cultivation practice. Many people praised me for being a good young person with wisdom.
In July 1999, the evil persecution started in Mainland China. The evil ran rampant throughout Heaven and Earth, with the goal to affect nothing less than the extinction of Falun Gong practitioners. In one day, many Dafa disciples were imprisoned for no reason. I didn't escape, even though I was an upstanding young person who was publicly recognized by people. When I was arrested, my mother and elder brother had already been illegally imprisoned. My father, (a very amiable, respected middle-school teacher) who was a non-practitioner, was devastated. He had no alternative than to collect money, and seek the help of relatives to bring me home.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed that so many good people, who practiced "Zhen-Shan-Ren" (Truth-Compassion-Forbearance) would suddenly become prisoners. Because my study of the Fa was not advanced, I did not understand the deeper principles behind the Fa. Within a short period of imprisonment my righteous belief in Dafa seemed to have vacillated a little. I went out to hunt for temporary jobs in despair and confusion. Laborers came from all over the country. In the workplace, initially I could still maintain my good character, but after some time I could not resist enticements from my more worldly colleagues any more; my psychological defense had collapsed. I forgot the Fa in my mind. From that time on, I started to accept invitations from colleagues to indulge in smoking, drinking, and playing cards. They even invited me to go to very dirty places.
Sometimes I would still recall the Fa; and once in a while I even thought of Master. When I was seriously thinking of Master I started to realize that I was falling downward, and felt that my behavior had damaged the Fa. The vulgar temptations in the world had destroyed me. Gradually I became somewhat silent. Recalling the inhuman suffering in jail, remembering that my mother and elder brother were still being persecuted by the evil, and that my poor father was still standing up for us and still paying off financial debts for us, I could not help shedding tears!
One day, one thought suddenly flashed through my heart: "I must practice!" Feeling ashamed, I summoned the words from the bottom of my heart: "Master, I want to practice!" But I was afraid that Master did not want me. Because I had not studied the Fa for a long time, I had no Fa in my heart to guide me. I felt helpless for a while, and the pressure was tremendous. During that time, my mother came to see me from a thousand miles away. I was delighted, and we immediately exchanged and shared experiences with each other. After much consideration, I felt it was Master's benevolence that provided me with my Mother's prompt help. Suddenly I was truly awakened, and immediately felt that my body was light.
I returned to the mighty current of Fa-rectification again, and also returned to the compassionate bosom of Master! When I decided to return to the righteous state with Master's Fa, those old forces, the evil behind-the-scenes manipulators, and rotten ghosts that had hindered and disturbed me, were frightened and immediately fled to escape my righteous field.
To encourage fellow practitioners who might have been similarly led astray, I have shared this piece of my journey. Please mercifully point out any improper understandings.

Minor Details Are Also Important
(Clearwisdom.net) I have always wanted to point out something to my fellow practitioners. I thought that many people would only consider this point a minor detail and that everybody, including myself, carries this habit. But after reading articles on the Minghui/Clearwisdom and PureInsight websites, and recalling the things Master has mentioned many times about similar problems in lectures, I enlightened to the fact that worrying about it is an attachment. I believe I should make this clear in order to protect the image of Dafa.
Many of us have a habit. When we sit, some of us like crossing one leg over another, or placing one leg on the other knee. Some people sit with two legs wide open and some people like shaking their legs. These behaviors are in fact very uncivil. It is disrespectful if you talk to others like that. In traditional culture, humans didn't have this type of demeanor. I am reminded that those who practiced martial arts in ancient times had a saying: "Stand like a pine tree, sit like a clock, sleep like the bough of a tree and walk like the wind." Nonetheless, people today pursue self-liberation and never take this saying seriously.
Master said in his "Congratulatory Statement to the New York Fa Conference":
"At present, all that you are doing is the most sacred, all that you are doing is for the sentient beings, and all that you are doing is creating the future."
We were bestowed with such a heavy responsibility. Then won't our actions and demeanor be imitated by people in the future? Although we may view this as a minor detail, it is in fact closely related to the future of mankind. This is not something minor. Master said in the article "Sage" that "he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details". I understand that he is actually telling us the characteristics a cultivator should possess. Therefore cultivators should be strict with themselves in their demeanor and actions, including details that are considered to be minor by ordinary people.
In our truth-clarifying materials and VCDs, some hosts and interviewees, of which many are practitioners, often carry this habit. Of course they do it subconsciously. Some hosts and interviewees speak very well and what they say sounds very convincing. But unfortunately, due to their improper sitting posture, people feel uncomfortable and thus it weakens the effect of truth clarification. For ordinary people who care a lot about these minor details, these subconscious actions may form an obstacle to their understanding of the truth. Therefore we should pay more attention to this problem.
I used to have this bad habit. This was a habit formed over a long period. I am fairly tall and have long legs. I feel comfortable with one leg crossed over another. Although I knew it was a bad habit, I wasn't determined to correct it. I would even sit like that when I read Dafa books. I later on decided to correct this habit. I would sit straight while reading Dafa books and pay more attention to my appearance while talking to others. But when I was alone, I would slack off. Now I am determined to completely correct this habit, to behave properly regardless of whether or not others are present.
Chinese people have the saying, 'to have consistent demeanor in all circumstances'. We cultivate our Xinxing to purify our hearts. At the same time, we need to have a proper image and be upright Dafa disciples.
Miraculous Experience in Twenty Days

Suffering from serious disease for many years, I have thought about committing suicide many times. Last month when I was again in a critical condition, I chose to give up on medical treatments and wait for death.
During the past ten years, I have spent 200,000 to 300,000 yuan on medical expenses each year. Since 2001, I have been in critical condition five times. I once had such severe edema that I suffered heart failure. To relieve my symptoms I had to rely on dialysis once every two days, so that 3.5 kilograms of water could be withdrawn from my blood each time. This kind of kidney disease is very rare and difficult to treat. I once asked a famous qigong master to treat my illness. He gave up after three days.
I was hopeless and desperate. The long-term suffering from the disease put tremendous mental and financial pressure on my family. I felt deep despair.
Just when I was most desperate, by chance I obtained a Falun Gong card printed with the words, "Falun Dafa is good! Truth, Compassion, Forbearance are good!" I read it again and again. I was deeply drawn to it and felt as if I were being cleansed by a mysterious power. My mind became clear and felt very calm. My body felt light. Gradually I was able to urinate, and the edema started to subside. Within ten days, the edema in the lower part of my body disappeared. I then read the book China Falun Gong. This was the first time I knew what Falun Gong was after six years of persecution. While I was reading, I felt very much in tune with it. I felt as if I was in heaven when I closed my eyes. Another ten days passed, and all of my edema had disappeared and I had lost almost 10 pounds. Furthermore, my skin became smooth and elastic, unlike what someone's skin is usually like after edema. It was and is truly miraculous! In only twenty days after I had acquired the card, this miracle truly happened to me, whether you believe it or not! I also read Zhuan Falun and listened to the lectures by Teacher Li Hongzhi.
It was not just a coincidence. It really happened to me, and it is truly miraculous! Only twenty days after I received the card, this miracle occurred! My edema disappeared and I feel so light. It is such a good feeling!
It is not superstition. It is the manifestation of the universal Dafa that saves sentient beings!

Mutual Respect Between Husband and Wife as One Would Respect A Guest
In traditional Chinese culture, the relationship between husband and wife always placed great emphasis to the meaning of the word "respect." Marriage symbolized the goodness that culminates in the union between the two sexes, thus resulting in continuous societal consensus that a husband and wife should mutually respect one another as one would respect a guest. This was how the tradition was born and later passed down.
The wife of Han dynasty official Liang Hong, when delivering food to her husband, always reverently raised the tray that contained the food to eyebrow height and respectfully asked her husband to dine. This was how the Chinese saying of "mutual respect between husbands and wives as one would treat a guest" was derived and passed down.
During the Spring and Autumn Period, in the Jin Dynasty, when eating his meals with his wife, Xi Que always gave precedence to his wife out of courtesy so they would mutually treat each other like guest and visitor. He was looked upon as a noble person with high moral standards. Consequently he gained the trust the Jin Emperor and was entrusted with heavy responsibility in the governance and administration of the country's daily affairs. The places where Xi Que lived, people regarded as "guest town."
In the early Qing Dynasty, the famous scholar Li Yong said, "Where husband and wife respect one another as one would a guest, then the husband and wife had conformed to the Tao (path, way, principles). Where the husband and wife have complied with and followed this Tao then the overall relationship between father and son, brothers and sisters and the monarch and his ministers will all be in sync with the Tao. By stressing that in the relationship of mutual respect between husband and wife, they should respect each other as one would a guest, the family can stay united and strong. Peace and prosperity can then prevail in the country.
In the "Lecture at the U.S. East Coast Conference" (New York, March 27-28, 1999) Mr. Li Hongzhi said to his disciple:
"At present, people have commented that women are becoming more and more liberal and their character is also getting stronger. In fact, you're not being driven by your benevolent side. I don't believe strength is necessarily reflected in the appearance of a person. If in your daily life you're like a gentle, true woman, your competence will let you have everything you deserve all the same. It's not necessary for you to be tough and manly. Do you understand the principles I'm talking about? (Applause) In other words, if you're a woman, you need to act like one, kind and gentle. Only that way can you gain respect and love from men. If you're not kind and gentle, men will be afraid of you when they see you. (Laughter) You'll then be denied the love and even the family affection that you're supposed to have. From the opposite perspective, let's not only talk about women. We men should also behave like men. However, today's society in this world has become corrupt. I can only ask my disciples to behave this way, which is not achievable by the society. I remember that before the fifties, men in the West were very gentlemen-like. They treated women with respect. Because women acted like women, men loved to help them, respect them and care for them. At the same time, in a feminine way, women cherished their husbands. This was human behavior. Yet today you have distorted all of this."

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yao Yuming Tortured to the Point of Having a Brain Hemorrhage and Becoming Comatose in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao Yuming, who is around 50 years old, was tortured to the point of having a brain hemorrhage while in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison around August 5, 2005.
On August 7, Yao Yuming was sent to the Neurosurgery Department of the No. 2 Affiliated Hospital at the Harbin Medical University, 4th floor of the Surgery Building. Estimates are the size of her hemorrhage amounted to 200 cc. Brain surgery was immediately performed to allow the blood to disperse. Following the surgery, Yao Yuming went into a coma, and couldn't eat or relieve herself. Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison officials dispatched four policewomen, two for each day, to watch her around the clock. Yao Yuming's situation did not improve and on around August 22, the prison personnel suddenly transferred her to a prison-affiliated hospital. Further information needs to be confirmed.
2. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Yao Liping Arrested While Distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party Booklets
At 2:00 a.m. on August 18, 2005, personnel from the Sijia Township Police Station arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao Liping while she was distributing copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party booklets in Sijia Township. They also ransacked her home. The police informed Zhang Wencheng, the People's Congress representative for Xingcheng City. After they arrested Yao Liping, Zhang Wencheng ordered them to send Yao Liping to a detention center.
At present, Yao Liping is being held at the Xingcheng City Detention Center.
Note: Zhang Wencheng's son Zhang Wei is chief of the Sijia Township Police Station in Xingcheng City. He participated in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners in Bingliao Township and Zhoutun Village, Sijia Township.

3. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Wan Hongxia Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment
Practitioner Ms. Wan Hongxia from Langfang City was sent to a brainwashing class for clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa. In the class, Wan Hongxia resisted the persecution and upheld her belief. After she held a hunger strike for several days, she manifested symptoms of partial paralysis and couldn't care for herself. When she was sent to a detention center she was rejected. Some personnel from the 610 Office and Municipal Committee, however, disregarded the law. As officials of the Municipal Committee and Political & Judiciary Committee they forced the detention center accept her.
On August 16, 2005 Wan Hongxia was carried into a court while half of her body was paralyzed. She was sentenced to three years of imprisonment.

Perpetrators were Yang Jinpu, the head of the 610 Office in the Quanshan District in Xuzhou City together with other policemen. They deprived her of freedom for photocopying Falun Dafa truth clarification materials at a photocopy shop in January 2005. They sentenced her to one and a half years in a forced labor camp. Ms. Hao is now being held at the Judong Forced Labor Camp.
7. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Yuan Xijing Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Class for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Dafa
On the afternoon of August 17, 2005, personnel from the 610 Office in Zhaoyuan City, the Zhangxing Town local government, and police station broke into Ms. Yuan Xijing's home and entrapped her into going to the Zhangxing Town Government. Without producing any valid documentation and not going through any due process they transferred Yuan Xijing to a brainwashing class afterwards.
Ms. Yuan Xijing, 37, from Gouzi Village in Zhangxing Town, Zhaoyuan City, has suffered from many diseases. These diseases vanished without a trace after she practiced Falun Dafa. Her morals improved, and she's been nice to others. She told others of the beauty of Dafa and the truth of the persecution against Dafa.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mao Huilan Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Class
Falun Dafa practitioner Mao Huilan from Wuhan City was illegally arrested without reason at 8:00 p.m. on August 25, 2005. It happened at her home in a development zone. She was arrested by personnel from the Cuiwei Police Station in the Hanyang District and by people from the city administration and (Guiyuan) Community Office. She is currently being held at the Taojiachen Brainwashing Class in the Hanyang District.
9. [Fangcheng City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Wu Zhenying is in Critical Condition
Mr. Wu Zhenying, 30, from Fangcheng City, Shangsi County was sentenced to three years of forced labor. The reason for his arrest was his belief in Trutfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and persisting in Falun Dafa practice. Perpetrators were officials from the local 610 Office. Mr. Wu had just returned from forced labor, and was arrested again and taken to the Port Brainwashing Class in Fangcheng City by police officers from 610 Office in Guangxi Autonomous Region. Because of this inhuman persecution, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on August 12, 2005 he jumped from the second floor. Now he is under emergency medical care in the Port Hospital. He is in critical condition and still in a coma.
10. [Muling City, Heilongjiang Province] Zou Zhaoxiang Arrested
At noon on August 22, 2005, several police officers from the National Security Brigade of Muling City Police Department arrested and took Dafa practitioner Zou Zhaoxiang to the local police department and then to Muling City Detention Center. During the arrest, several police officers broke into Zou Zhaoxiang's home and ransacked it, causing great terror and pain to Zou Zhanxiang's family members.
11. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Han Guiping and Family Were Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Han Guiping from Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, and her son Wang Bin and sister Han Guimei were arrested on August 16, 2005. Police officers from Xifeng County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province, were the perpetrators. Han Guiping's living place was ransacked. The two sisters are currently being held at the Xifeng County Detention Center. Middle school student Wang Bin was sent to the Xiong Guantun Correctional Work Study School in Tieling City, and was not allowed to go out freely.
Ms. Han Guiping had been persecuted many times, and had been sent to a psychiatric hospital. Her husband passed away while she was serving a term in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The lonely son and the widowed mother have been harassed often by the police. The mother and son were forced to wander about away from home to avoid illegal arrest, taking care of each other. They have now been arrested again.
Ms. Han Guimei lives in the Xifeng County and is a garment retailer. She has two under-aged children aged seven and almost three. Her husband has to take care of the business, so the two children are left to themselves.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Wang Guirong Held in the Tanghai County Brainwashing Class for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong
Ms. Wang Guirong, who is in her 50s, is a Falun Gong practitioner from the No. 8 Farm in Tanghai County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. She clarified the truth at their billiards room. The morning of August 26, 2005, Sun Encai and Dai Wenjie, the chiefs of the farm's "610 Office," colluded with other policemen from the No. 8 Farm Police Station and arrested Wang Guirong, taking her to the Tanghai County Brainwashing Class. They attempted to extort Wang Guirong's family of 5,000 yuan. They also tried to force Wang Guirong to write a guarantee statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. Wang Guirong and her family refused to pay the money or write the statement. The authorities then threatened to send Wang Guirong to the Tangshan City Brainwashing Class if she refused to be reformed or pay the extortion.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lei Guoting is a section chief for the Baiyun District Political and Judiciary Committee in Guiyang City. He was arrested in 2004 for practicing Falun Gong by personnel from the 610 Office. They sent him to the Zhongba Forced Labor Camp. He hasn't been released. Lei Guoting suffered many more brutal tortures in the forced labor camp than other detained practitioners.

14. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Wang Qingfang Arrested When Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials
Wang Qingfang is an employee of the Xujiahu Town Hospital in Yishui County. She was arrested at about 10:00 p.m. on August 27, 2005 when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials at Zhaike Village, Xujiahu Town. That same night, Li Jiaping, a policeman of the county's National Security Team forcibly searched her house but found nothing. The next day, Li Jianping again led policemen to search her house. She is now being held at a detention center.

A Total of 287795 Declarations Have Been Published To Date
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. On March 15, 2005, Rongcheng Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Xidong (who is 43 year old), was arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison. He is being detained in the Rongcheng Detention Center. The beatings seriously hurt Mr. Wang's tendon. When he went on a hunger strike, the police force fed him. In the process they badly injured his stomach and esophagus. On May 29, when his family sent him some clothing, the on-duty policeman Zhang Yongbin damaged them with a scissors right on the spot.

2. The police arrest many Dafa practitioners in Lunan, Shandong Province.
On the night of August 12, 2005, the officers from the Lunan 610 office, of Shandong Province, harassed and arrested several dozen Dafa practitioner in the county. They robbed many practitioners' houses. Dafa practitioner Ji Xingshu (who is around 60 years old), Ji Xingcai (around 60 years old), Peng Xiuzhan (around 50 years old), Li Baoshan (43 years old), and another two practitioners, six altogether, were arrested. The Qianerdao Police Station of the Fengman District in Jilin City, Jilin Province arrested Dafa practitioners.At 8 o'clock on August 18, 2005, the policemen from the Qianerdao Police Station of the Fengman District in Jilin City dressed in plainclothes and drove two cars to the 1st community of Wangxiang Village. They attempted to arrest Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Wenyou, who is over 50 years old, and his wife Ms. Fang Lichun. Ms. Fang escaped with righteous thoughts in front of 5 or 6 policemen. Then, the policemen arrested Mr. Li and another practitioner. They also harassed practitioner Li Liying's family. When the policemen found that Ms. Fang had escaped, one of them said, "It doesn't matter that just one practitioner escaped, because we have accomplished our assignment and arrested the right number of practitioners." That morning the police from the Qianerdao Police Station, had already arrested Dafa practitioner Xu Guizhen, who lives in Hedong Village. Also on that morning, three men and one woman came to Dafa practitioner Ma Fang's Noodle Restaurant. They said they were from the Jilin City Fengman Branch Police Department and another Police Station. They attempted to arrest Ma Fang; however, Ma Fang escaped when she went to change her clothes.

HANGZHOU, China - A co-founder and senior executive of Yahoo Inc., the global Internet giant, confirmed Saturday that his company gave Chinese authorities information later used to convict a Chinese journalist now imprisoned for leaking state secrets.
The journalist, Shi Tao, was sentenced last spring to 10 years in prison for sending foreign-based Web sites a copy of a message from Chinese authorities warning domestic journalists about reporting on sensitive issues, according to a translation of the verdict disseminated by the watchdog group Reporters Without Borders.
Speaking at an Internet conference in this eastern Chinese city, Yahoo's co-founder, Jerry Yang, said his company had no choice but to cooperate with the authorities.

Yahoo's role in the imprisonment of a journalist is the latest in a string of controversies surrounding the activities of global technology companies in China and their assistance to the state security apparatus.
Many of the foreign technology powers that market themselves as forces for the free flow of information in other countries have made accommodations with an often repressive Communist Party government as they pursue business opportunities in a land of seemingly limitless potential.
Google, the popular Web search site, has been accused by Internet monitors based in the United States and Europe of preventing Internet users in China from accessing sites Chinese authorities deem sensitive, such as those carrying reports about Tibet, Taiwan and [...] Falun Gong.
Cisco Systems has sold China much of the equipment authorities use to block access to such sites, though the company maintains that China's use of the gear is beyond its purview.
Three years ago, Yahoo drew fire for reportedly signing a pledge in which it agreed to abide by all Chinese censorship laws -- an implicit promise to bar access to Web sites deemed off-limits.
The Shi Tao case has become particularly high-profile because it involves the imprisonment of a Chinese journalist at a time when the government is cracking down on domestic media that report on topics seen as challenging the state's authority.
Shi, 37, was a reporter for Contemporary Business News, a newspaper in the southwestern province of Hunan.
He apparently used a Yahoo e-mail account to send a Chinese-language Web site based in New York a message from state censorship authorities.
