The Persecution of Falun Gong in China
The Persecution of Falun Gong in China has gone on for far too long now. Partly, the reason is that the international community is unwilling to pay attention to the sufferings of the Chinese people at the hands of their own government. That may be because much money and big business is being done with China right now.
Everyone wants proof of the persecution. It seems to me there is ample proof available at clearwisdom.net and faluninfo.net Of course, Amnesty International has also reported in depth on the issue of Chinese citizens being abused by the Chinese government as well.
So, why does the persecution continue. I don't really have any rational answers for that question mainly because it is an irrational situation to begin with. Why should it matter what people believe in the space between their two ears? Or to rephrase that, why should it matter to the Chinese government that people want to meditate and believe in Truth, Compassion and Tolerance.
Do they fear that they will be overthrown or something like that? Why? The Falun Dafa practitioners are peaceful. They don't fight back even when the Chinese agents or police come to get them and send them to labor camps and / or torture them.
The atrocities in this world are many. If China is the country with the largest population, perhaps that is the first place where human rights should be respected.
I know there are a lot of problems in the world and everyone is engrossed with their own issues and struggles. But if we don't look up from what we are doing and try to help prevent the unnecessary suffering of others, what kind of people are we?
Joy can be found in giving. Give some of your time to help end the persecution of Falun Gong in China. You might find yourself extremely happy to know that you did something good for the world.
The amount of torture that the Falun Gong practitioners suffer is enormous and it just should not be that any human being should suffer so at the hands of another human being. What is it that drives a normally decent person to torture and kill another? He can get away with it because his government permits him to do so? Does that make it right?
One problem is there are not enough people standing up and saying they won't follow such instructions. I guess in China, these people would rather follow the government orders to hurt innocent people rather than face the prospect of losing their jobs. I don't know, but it sure seems senseless to me.
The International community has become pretty adept at not even looking at the issue. But I guess that is another story.
Imagine the pain of languishing in a prison or labor camp, where you know that there is little hope. The outside world doesn't seem to care that you are there or care about what you are going through. Your loved ones can't find you because they do not know where you were taken too. Are you alive? Dead? Nobody knows or nobody will tell.
How sad this world is. Each of us do have our personal tragedies, but we have got to think about the suffering of others more than our own suffering or as individuals we may lose the good qualities that make us human.
