Remembering the Support for This Noble Cause
(Clearwisdom.net) A few weeks after school started at our local university, I was giving new students registration forms. I had a stack of truth clarification materials on my desk. One student from India said, "Falun Gong, I know about this. When I was in Vancouver, I saw the 24-hour appeal outside the Chinese consulate that had continued for over 1,000 days. It was really amazing! This is really a noble cause."
As I walked out of the Student Affairs Office, many thoughts came to mind.
Many people outside of China support Falun Gong practitioners' efforts to clarify the facts and oppose the persecution. Falun Gong has received over 1,300 proclamations, 130 resolutions of support, and more than 1,000 support letters from various government entities and organizations.
It is human nature to be sympathetic to victims of persecution, no matter what their nationality, ethnicity, or family background. The respect and praise for a noble spiritual realm are also universal across nations.
In the beginning, many outside of China did not understand Falun Gong. They hesitated whether to support Falun Gong practitioners' appeals. This was understandable. But Falun Gong practitioners' perseverance moved them.
In March 2002, when the scoundrel group headed by Jiang Zemin issued a secret order to kill Mainland Chinese Falun Gong practitioners without mercy, over 100 Canadian Falun Gong practitioners sat quietly in the snow in front of Parliament Hill in Ottawa. They went on a hunger strike for 36 hours, and called on the Canadian government to stop the brutal killing by the CCP headed by Jiang.
A Canadian parliament member in charge of Asia-Pacific affairs told practitioners that many parliament members were moved by the scene on Capitol Hill. They were talking among themselves and quietly cheering for the Falun Gong practitioners.
At 11 p.m. that evening, a parliament member came out of the Parliament to visit and shake hands with the Falun Gong practitioners on hunger strike. He said that he supported us and that we should keep up the hard work for this noble cause.
Another Canadian parliament member said he had expressed his support for Falun Gong on a number of occasions. He was again touched by the kindness of Falun Gong practitioners. He could not understand why the Chinese government treated the practitioners with such brutality. He hoped more people could step forward to support Falun Gong. He believed that justice would prevail.
It is common for congressional members in the United States to disagree with each other. Very few bills receive unanimous support. Most congressional members are friendly with China. However, they have consistently and unanimously voted for resolutions supporting Falun Gong.
In September 2005, during Hu Jintao's visit to Canada, Canadian Prime Minister Martin said at a joint conference with Hu, "We believe that both economic development and better governance requires not only openness and transparency, but an understanding of the importance of human rights - both human rights in terms of governance of a country but also human rights in terms of the way that country is able to function."
Why has the Canadian government supported Falun Gong? Because this is a nation that respects humanity and spirituality. This is a nation that was moved by the great spirit demonstrated by Falun Gong practitioners. Why do so many people and countries outside of China support Falun Gong? Because they understand the painful suffering of Falun Gong practitioners. They know what the Falun Gong spirit means to today's world.
In June 2003, Canadian Parliament Member Rob Anders told the practitioners who were doing the exercises in front of Parliament Hill in the rain, "The Chinese authorities will one day understand what you are doing. What you have been doing has brought hope." He praised the practitioners for their persistence even in this bad weather, "representing sincerity and goodness."
Those people who have learned the truth about the persecution despite the environment of terror and persecution have also bravely stepped forward to oppose the persecution. Well-known Chinese civil rights attorney Gao Zhisheng said, "The persecution of Falun Gong is a persecution of the rule of law, of morality, of conscience, of justice, and of humanity. It is the choice of people's consciences to openly condemn the persecution and support the victims. On the other hand, silence is a shame. We all live in one family called the world. People have no excuse to remain silent on the evil acts that are against humanity and destroy the most fundamental human dignity, no matter where the acts are taking place."
One day, everyone will offer the praise, "Falun Gong's resistance to the persecution is a noble cause." At that time, people will be glad to have given us their support, because we protected the universal values of humanity, and defended our faith.

Canada: Falun Gong Practitioners Call for an End to Persecution During Human Rights Dialogue between Canada and China (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) From October 31 to November 3, 2005, a Human Rights Dialogue between Canada and China is being held at Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs. Falun Gong practitioners from Ottawa and Montreal gathered outside the Department of Foreign Affairs on the morning of October 31 to peacefully appeal for stopping the Chinese Communist Party from persecuting Falun Gong and called to bring perpetrators Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to justice.

Singapore: Practitioners Caution Chinese Communist Party Officials to Immediately Stop Persecuting Falun Gong (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) At 11:00 a.m. on October 28, 2005, a representative of Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore read the Falun Dafa Association Announcement published on October 9, 2005 in front of the Chinese Embassy, warning all people who have participated in the persecution of Falun Gong to immediately stop the persecution, abandon their evil path and choose to be good.

The announcement states that "At this critical historical moment, the Falun Dafa Association has made a special announcement: >From today on, overseas Falun Gong practitioners will file civil or criminal lawsuits against all important government or CCP officials who participate in or continue to implement the persecution of Falun Gong and as a result, commit new crimes in addition to those they have already perpetrated against Falun Gong."
The announcement sternly points out that "Ever since the publication of The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Chinese people have more clearly recognized the nature of the CCP and the evil nature of the persecution. More than 4.8 million have withdrawn from the CCP and its related organizations. Heaven's destruction of the CCP is a historical inevitability. Gods must punish those criminals who have sinned against Falun Dafa. Those who refuse to do the right thing and instead continue to follow Jiang's scoundrel regime's persecution policies will be severely punished as perpetrators of unforgivable crimes."
The announcement points out compassionately in the end, "However, one of the purposes of the sacred FA of Falun Gong is to save people, including people in all social statuses. Even for those who have committed wrongdoings, there is still an opportunity for them to abandon the evil path and choose to be good. For all those who have committed crimes against Falun Gong but want now to correct their mistakes, they can submit, under safe circumstances, a guarantee statement or regret letter to Minghui (Clearwisdom Net) or to any regional Falun Dafa Association to be archived. We will not investigate the various crimes of those who are determined to correct their mistakes. However we will continue to monitor their actions."
After reading the announcement, practitioners entered the gate of the Visa Department of the embassy, put the letter on the desk and asked the gate guard to deliver the document to the ambassador. The gate guard was very nervous, tried to give the letter back to practitioners, and rudely drove the practitioners out of the gate. He finally threw the letter outside the gate.
Practitioners told him that China is a country with 5,000 years of civilization. We only delivered a letter and asked him to transfer it. The embassy staff behind the gate guard also looked nervous. While saying, "We don't want it," they claimed to want to "report it to the police."
It is reported that since the date of the publication of the announcement, a Global Monitoring and Tracking System has been formed, consisting of human rights organizations and individuals located in nearly 300 cities in more than 70 countries. The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) coordinates its operation. New cases of severe persecution are documented and filed daily. Periodically, the cases will be compiled and released to the public, while the names of the perpetrators and those who give them their orders are added to the list of people to be monitored. When they leave China, appropriate legal action can be taken against them.
Scotland: Practitioners Invited to Talk to Fifth Grade Students about Falun Gong and the Persecution (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) On October 26, a Chinese and a Western practitioner visited Stewarton Academy in Stewarton, near Glasgow, Scotland. They were invited by Modern Studies teachers to give presentations about Falun Gong to two fifth-grade classes during their Peace and Justice week.

The western practitioner first introduced Falun Gong to the pupils, who had not heard of it, giving a brief history of when the practice was first brought out to the public in China in 1992, when it gained rapid popularity and awards from the Chinese Communist Party due to its life-changing effects on practitioners, who strive to live according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.
She then spoke of how the then leader of China, Jiang Zemin, feared that the popularity of Falun Gong would be a threat to his own power. When seventy to one hundred million practitioners numbered more than the Communist Party membership he developed a deep hatred towards the practice. He banned Falun Gong, persuading the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to align with his vendetta. Since the CCP has a history of brutally targeting people who are seen as anti-CCP in various campaigns, and it propagates lies, incites hatred and promotes struggle, the core principles of Falun Gong and its peaceful activities were irrationally seen as a danger to the stability of China.
She outlined some of the brutal treatments meted out to practitioners, particularly highlighting the unjust treatment of children who practice or whose parents practice, such as being denied a proper education and being forced to write defamatory statements about Falun Gong before taking exams. Children are made homeless and orphaned when their parents are forcibly arrested and tortured to death by the CCP. The practitioner asked the pupils their views on the information given throughout the presentation, and they were shocked.
Next both practitioners showed some of the gentle Falun Gong exercises.
They then showed a DVD about rescuing the orphaned children of Falun Gong practitioners. Not only were the two practitioners visibly moved to tears, but many of the pupils, boys and girls, wiped away tears. Following on, the Chinese practitioner spoke of his personal ordeal in a forced labor camp in China, how he had been tortured severely, and how he missed his young daughter, whom he had only spent one year with because he was detained. He spoke of his sadness over the fact that his daughter didn't know him, because she was too young to remember him, and although he was lucky to leave China and come to the UK, his family was still in China. He also asked for the pupils' support through signing petitions.
The students were moved by his talk and asked him questions about his family and his experiences. One girl was really worried about when he would see his daughter again.
A petition to help rescue the orphans and another one to ask the Prime Minister to strongly appeal to the current leader of China, Hu Jintao, to stop the persecution when he comes on a State visit to the UK in November, were eagerly signed by both students and teachers. They also asked to keep some petitions to pass around the school. Many pupils took VCD's and leaflets about the persecution.
The teachers asked if they could keep the informative banners that the practitioners had hung up in the classroom, so that they could put them up at the entrance of the school for all to see. They also said they would write letters through the local Amnesty group to their MP's. They warmly thanked the practitioners for coming. The teachers also offered to pay the practitioners' expenses, but since all activities are free in Falun Gong, the teachers then decided to give a donation to the fund to rescue the orphans out of China. A photographer from the Irvine Times, a local paper, came and took photographs to go with an article the paper is publishing about the Chinese practitioner's experience in the forced labor camp.
After the workshop finished and the pupils went to their next lesson, they only wanted to talk about Falun Gong and the persecution rather than do their next lesson.
The next day they were again talking about the persecution and one teacher said that they had been really moved by hearing about it.

Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, distributed flyers and displayed picture boards. Many people were fascinated and imitated the exercise movements. They listened carefully about facts of the persecution. Many signed their names to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Practitioners headed for Haifa after spending a few days in Akko. The sponsor of our activities arranged a booth for us in a park where a film festival was being held. We set up display boards, some practitioners demonstrated the exercises, and some taught children how to fold paper lotuses.
When we gave two young men our flyers and told them the principles of Falun Dafa, and that the world needs "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," they said, "It is very important that the world needs 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance'!" They were shocked to hear about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. One of them came back to ask us where he could learn Falun Gong and if there were any free introductory lessons. When we told him all Falun Gong teaching was free, he was surprised and looked very grateful.
Many people happily took our flyers and listened to our truth-clarification. Things are changing. People are awakening. Falun Dafa is spreading wider and wider in the world.

(Clearwisdom.net) At the Asotin City Health Fair on October 21 and 22, the Falun Dafa booth was one of the busiest places. The truth of Falun Dafa has touched many hearts.

A man had a dream in which he was told a person's name with a strange pronunciation. A few days later, he received a flyer in the mail about Falun Dafa at the Health Fair. The flyer had the practitioner's name printed on it. He thought this was a direct hint to find this practitioner so he brought his whole family to the Health Fair.
He, his mother, his wife and two teenage children drove over one hour to the Health Fair and came to our booth. We talked a long time. His wife read the book more than one hour.
One woman with sclerosis put away her crutch and stood up to learn the exercises. Some senior citizens also joined the exercises to experience how Falun Dafa can improve body flexibility in a short time.
Many people that came to our booth had learned some facts about the persecution. They asked many related questions. They couldn't understand why the Chinese Communist Party wants to persecute this group of kind and compassionate people.
A kindhearted woman said in a low voice, "What can I do to help you?" "I will keep these in my heart and tell more people."
One gentleman had learned about Falun Dafa in Montana before. This time, he volunteered to explain to another visitor the benefits of Falun Dafa.
Because we did a lot of promotion before the event, many people came to the Health Fair to learn Falun Dafa. They were very interested in the introduction to Falun Dafa and wanted to learn the exercises. Some people came on Friday and returned on Saturday to learn the exercises.
We think the effect of this year's Health Fair was better than that of previous years.
Introducing Falun Gong at a Middle School in Dallas, Texas (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) Under the invitation of the Principal of EB Comstock Middle School, Falun Gong practitioners went to the school to teach the Falun Gong exercises. Twenty to thirty students and teachers learned the exercises in the gym.
A Falun Gong practitioner introduced Falun Gong, its health effects, its wide spread in the world, the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners' peaceful resistance and support of justice using slide shows. Students and teachers couldn't help shaking their heads when they saw the part about persecution, but their frowns turned to smiles when they saw pictures of Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeals and Falun Gong's wide spread in the world.
Students and teachers learned the first two sets of Falun Gong exercises. One practitioner served as the main teacher. Two others demonstrated the exercise movements in the front. Others helped correct the students' movements.

Most students in EB Comstock are black or Hispanic. The school hires security guards to keep order because it is very difficult to discipline some students. A sensor is installed at the school entrance to prevent students from carrying arms. Principal Huckaby is very concerned about the discipline of the students.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zheng is a teacher of mental arithmetic. She was invited to EB Comstock to teach mental arithmetic and took the opportunity to introduce Falun Gong to the school principal, who immediately invited Falun Gong practitioners to give a lecture at the school.
After learning the first two exercises, Principal Huckaby liked Falun Gong so much that she invited practitioners to give lectures on a regular basis. She said she would distribute flyers to parents and invite them to learn Falun Gong too.
Facts of the Persecution
Beijing Practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuhua Dies from Torture Sustained at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuhua from Beijing died as a result of torture at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. She died on July 15, 2005. The authorities from the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City tortured Wang Xiuhua until she was at the brink of death. They then demanded that her family take her home on June 22, 2005. By then Wang Xiuhua exhibited symptoms of severe damage to the nervous system: blank stare, inability to speak or to urinate, immobility and loss of feeling in the lower body. Her family rushed her to a hospital but she could not be revived. Ms. Wang died in the hospital three weeks after being released from the labor camp.

Wang Xiuhua was 51 years old and lived in the Mentougou District in Beijing. On October 30, 2004, Wang Xiuhua and another practitioner, Liu Zhenxia, were illegally arrested. The perpetrators were police from the National Security Section of the Mentougou District Police Department. The arrests occurred when the practitioners were distributing truth clarification materials near Tanzhe Temple. The police ransacked the practitioners' homes and sentenced them to two years of forced labor. On November 25, 2004, Wang Xiuhua was taken away and sent to the Tuanhe Dispatch Division in Beijing. In mid-December 2004 she was transferred to Group 2, Division 6 at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.
On June 22, 2005, authorities from the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City phoned Wang Xiuhua's family and told them that Wang Xiuhua had been diagnosed with "intestinal obstruction" and "electrolyte abnormalities" and told her family to take her home. When her family saw Wang Xiuhua, she couldn't think or respond clearly; she had a blank look on her face and could not move her arms or legs. The labor camp authorities forced her family to take her home.
Her family rushed Ms. Wang to the hospital for emergency treatment. Aside from urinary retention, Wang Xiuhua, suffered from nausea and vomiting, and showed abnormalities such as inability to think clearly, blank stare, inability to speak, immobility of arms and legs, loss of feeling of the lower body, all of which are typical symptoms of severe nerve damage.
Her symptoms were alleviated through medical treatment and she stopped vomiting; however, she still had urinary retention and had to stay on a catheter, and the damage to her central nervous system did not improve. On July 15 Ms. Wang suddenly stopped breathing and resuscitation efforts failed.
The units responsible for Wang Xiuhua's death include the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, the Tuanhe Dispatch Division for Persons Undergoing Labor Reeducation, and the National Security Section of the Mentougou District Police Department in Beijing and the Custody Center.

I Witnessed with My Own Eyes the Crimes in Shaanxi Provincial Women's Labor Camp
(Clearwisdom.net) Since the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, the Shaanxi Provincial Women's Labor Camp has adopted different kinds of extremely wicked means to cruelly torture and persecute Dafa practitioners. As a result, some Dafa practitioners' lives were endangered. Some became mentally disoriented and lost control of their bladders. Some practitioners were beaten until their bones broke and their front teeth were smashed in. The following are crimes that I witnessed with my own eyes that occurred in Shaanxi Provincial Women's Labor Camp.
Most guards in the Shaanxi Provincial Women's Labor Camp participated in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. For a long period of time, guards adopted the means of forcing practitioners to sit on a small stool, stand facing a wall, squat, and denied practitioners the use of a toilet and deprived them of sleep, etc. They isolated and imprisoned Dafa practitioners in solitary confinement for a long time and did not allow them to talk with anyone, buy anything, meet with anyone, etc. They did not let practitioners change their clothes, take showers or clean themselves.
The guards also abuse police weapons. An elderly Falun Dafa practitioner was beaten by guards in turn with batons for over eighty rounds. Police shackled Dafa practitioners for extended periods. Some practitioners' heels were pulled up in the air by shackles, with only the tip of the toe touching the ground. Some practitioners were shackled with their legs crossed. Some were shackled to an iron door or window in the hallway and suffered tremendously in the winter. The guards instigated criminals to persecute practitioners, to swear and beat them at will, and conspire to commit crimes against them. They pinched, twisted, kicked and beat, violently hit their heads with a comb, pricked with needles, spit water, and used their elbows to violently hit practitioners' waists, breasts, and backs. They forced Dafa practitioner to drink high-density salt water and to drink some unknown drug that made them mentally incoherent. They forced the practitioners to have bowel movements while standing up and then use their own clothes or quilts to wipe themselves, then throw them away.
In the winter of 2002, guard Dong Yanling instigated criminal Lin Xiaoting to pour cold water down a Dafa practitioner's neck. Several practitioners were physically punished and denied sleep for extended periods.
In April and May 2003, the police again cruelly persecuted several Dafa practitioners. The wicked deputy head Zhang Zhuoqing incited criminal Zhang Zhilan to tie up the practitioners' feet and hands, tape their mouths shut, constantly pour cold water on their faces until they passed out, then prick practitioners with needles and shout at them.
Unlawfully detained Falun Dafa practitioners were often forced to endure severe work overloads, and for very prolonged periods of time.
Police who participated in the long-term persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners: Zhao Xiaoyang, Zhang Zhuoqing, Dong Yanling, Bo Xiao, Zhang Yan, Li Cailian, Yanni, etc. I witnessed with my own eyes that police instigated criminals Li Guilan, Lin Xiaoting, Hua Yuping, Yang Hongge and so on to cruelly persecute practitioners again and again.

Ms. Wang Yuling Sentenced to Long Prison Term; Son Died From Shock and Grief, Disabled Husband is Barely Scraping By
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yuling from Dongfeng County, Jilin Province, was unlawfully sentenced to 13 years in prison for persisting in her belief in Truth, Compassion, Forbearance. For the past three years the police have never notified her family about her incarceration and have never allowed them to visit her. Her family inquired in all sorts of places for over a year and finally found out that she is being held at a "labor reeducation" hospital. Since June 2004 her family has gone to the hospital many times but the police refuse to let them see her. Following is her story.
Ms. Wang Yuling is 50 years old. Officers from the Chaoyang District No. 2 Criminal Police Group and Division 1 of the Changchun City Police Department illegally arrested her on August 15, 2002. The police tortured her on the tiger bench for nine days and took turns torturing her. They tied her hands with plastic bands, burned her, beat and kicked her, poured cold water on her, and shocked her with 30,000-volt electric baton(s), which made her lose consciousness. She came to after one of her veins was cut open at No 3 Hospital, which is affiliated with Changchun Medical University. Since then she has suffered from severe cardiac ischemia.
In the three plus years since 2002, Ms. Wang has often been at death's door because of heart disease. She would recover slightly after several days of hospitalization, at which time the police would take her back to the No. 3 Detention Center. They sent her to the hospital only when she was again at the brink of death. She has been in and out of the hospital for two years.
Ms. Wang was very healthy and weighed over 154 pounds before the police abducted her. Due to savage torture, her hair is now completely white and most of her teeth have fallen out. She is severely hunchbacked and cannot take care of herself. Her hands and feet are cold and pale, and her whole body is swollen. She now weighs 88 pounds and often faints. She has also been diagnosed with gallstones and a stomach ulcer.
Despite her condition, the police still tried several times to send her to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp refused to accept her because of her poor health. Authorities from the No. 3 Detention Center wanted to release her on a medical parole, but the police department, the Chaoyang District Procuratorate, and the Chaoyang District Court refused to grant it.
Before the persecution, Ms. Wang lived with her husband, son, and her mother-in-law. Her husband has femur necrosis and was laid off without any income. Her mother-in-law is in her 70s. Ms. Wang was the breadwinner of the family and also her husband's and her mother-in-law's caregiver. Her son fell ill and later died from shock and grief at his mother's brutal persecution.
Ms. Wang Yuling used to be the owner of a cake factory and had about 40,000 yuan in liquid capital. After she was abducted, the police ransacked her home and took all the valuables, including two cars and all of the cash.
Her husband cannot work due to his illness. He and his mother live on her pension of about 400 yuan a month.
Labor Camp Guards in Guangzhou Ruthlessly Persecute Dafa Practitioners Behind Closed Doors

In the labor camps in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, Dafa practitioners are put into the so-called "conversation room" that is specifically used for separate detention so that they can persecute Dafa practitioners. Guards select, train and force 3-6 other detainees to specialize in "monitoring" Dafa practitioners around the clock. Practitioners are detained in isolated rooms and suffer from long-term physical and mental persecution.
First, practitioners are forced to undergo brainwashing, during which they are made to watch videos and read materials that slander, attack and fabricate charges against Falun Dafa and Master Li. Afterwards, practitioners are forced to write a so-called "feelings and thoughts report" for the guards every day. During the day, except during mealtimes and bathroom breaks, practitioners are forced to endure intense brainwashing sessions all day long. At the same time, the guards use all kinds of means to torture practitioners physically and mentally: they make them sit on a bench and read materials that slander Falun Dafa; they are not allowed to walk around in the room for longer than 20 minutes altogether on any given day; they are not allowed any free time. Guards and others who assist in persecuting them intimidate them by saying, "By not allowing you to walk around, your arms and feet may be paralyzed by the time you leave here."
In order to force practitioners to renounce Falun Dafa, the guards prolong steadfast practitioners' detention times for 10-15 days every month and also threaten, "If you persist like this, even when you finish your forced-labor term, you will be sent directly to the 'law education class' (brainwashing class) after leaving this labor camp. If you still refuse to give up the practice, you will be sent back to the labor camp again." The guards even openly shout, "If you still refuse to give in, we will torment you to death."
In order to achieve their purposes, the guards authorize, instigate and incite other detainees to monitor Dafa practitioners and allow them to take any means to arbitrarily persecute Dafa practitioners. Usually practitioners are only allowed to sleep for 4-5 hours every day and sometimes even only 2-3 hours, and for the rest of the time, practitioners are forced to watch videos that defame Falun Dafa. The guards also use physical torture on practitioners. The methods used include: tying practitioners up, tightly binding their arms and feet, and beating their heads and other parts of the body. The detainees can use any means of torture on practitioners they choose once every 2-3 days or even several times in one day. Since practitioners are detained separately, whatever happens inside is kept secret by the detainees and people outside are unaware. Dafa practitioners become exhausted from the long-term physical and mental abuse and some practitioners even fall asleep while standing. Practitioners are given trouble for using the toilet, eating or drinking, etc. If any other detainee is in the way of practitioners going to the toilet, practitioners are not allowed to go to the toilet and practitioners are forced to walk with their heads bowed. Some practitioners are tortured to the extent that their condition visibly deteriorates, which gives the guards an excuse to restrict the rights of practitioners even more because they are afraid it may cause disturbances if other detainees see these practitioners' situations. The guards seal these practitioners away as another method of mental persecution and in their words, "You will die of boredom."
Even for those practitioners who have given in because they were unable to withstand such persecution, the guards still use the same methods to "test" them for a long time and don't allow them out of isolation. They force them to do certain work until they feel these people have met their so-called requirements. Some of this work that these brainwashed practitioners are assigned to is to monitor other practitioners and never leave their side. These brainwashed practitioners have to obey "management" and are not allowed to talk to other detainees. Moreover, such management continues until these people leave the labor camp. If the guards feel these brainwashed practitioners have not met their requirements, the guards will further detain them in separate rooms and persecute them until the guards feel confident enough to let them out.
Even those monitoring detainees say that those rooms that separately detain Dafa practitioners are a "jail within a jail" and "the darkest spots in the world where the guards don't have any sense of law or truth."
(Note: Now the No. 1 Labor Camp of Guangzhou City has been converted into a detention center or prison and the detainees there for forced-labor detention are divided up and sent to several other labor camps. Over a dozen practitioners that used to be detained in the No. 1 Labor Camp have been sent to the No. 3 Labor Camp of Guangzhou and the guards who persecute them have been transferred to the same place.)
Six Falun Gong Practitioners from Gansu, Jilin, Anhui Provinces Were Persecuted to Death
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Zhifang, about 48 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. She lived in the medical school of Lanzhou University and was a pipa [1] player in the Henan theatrical troupe of Lanzhou City. She was persecuted to death in August. The details of her death are under investigation.
Ms. Bin Jie, 71 years old, was from Changchun City, Jilin Province. She started to practice Falun Gong in September 1994. On July 20, 2000, she went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was arrested and sent back to Changchun City by policemen from the Tiananmen police station. Then, she was imprisoned in the Balipu Detention Center for 15 days. While she was on a hunger strike, she was released from the detention center. Her company stopped paying her pension and the local police ransacked her home. In mid-December of 2000, she went to Beijing for the second time to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. She was arrested again by the Tiananmen Police Station and put in the trunk of a car. After her release, her whole body twitched and her pulse was very irregular. Because the police were afraid that she was dying in the car, they sent her to the police station to let her rest for two hours, then she was sent to a bus station. After she was persecuted twice in Beijing, Bin Jie's mental condition seriously deteriorated. She had a stroke soon after coming back home and passed away on June 20, 2005.
Ms. Ma Fengying, 82 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Xihu Town, Fuyang City, Anhui Province. After starting to practice Falun Gong in 1996, her various illnesses disappeared. After the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong, the local authorities constantly harassed her, ransacked her home, and threatened her. Her daughter, also a Falun Gong practitioner, has been illegally imprisoned in Hefei Prison for two years. Placed under great distress and deprived of the care of her daughter, Ma Fengying passed away in August 2005.
Mr. Ma Tairu, 79 years old, was a retired teacher from the Yushan Middle School of the Bazhou Area, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. After July 20, 1999, he lost the environment for studying the Falun Gong teachings and for group practice of the exercises. In addition, he continuously suffered from pressure and harassment from the school and the town authorities. In May 2002, he came down with a serious illness and passed away in July.
Mr. You Wenzeng, 54 years old, lived at Youjia Village, Xinzaizi Town, Ganjingzi Area, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After July 20, 1999, he kept clarifying the truth about Falun Gong, and was harassed and persecuted by the local police repeatedly. He died on August 25, 2005.
Ms. Ma Puyun, 58 years old, lived at Youjia Village, Xinzaizi Town, Ganjingzi Area, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After July 20, 1999, she was constantly harassed by local policemen and security officers. She passed away on September 20, 2005.

The Persecution of Dafa Practitioners from Changli County, Qinhuangdao City
(Clearwisdom.net) Since early 2005 some Dafa practitioners who were held in detention centers and labor camps have not been able to keep pace with the Fa-rectification process due to their strong attachments, including fear. They have strayed in their understanding as they have not kept up with studying the Fa, and doing the three things Master has required us to do, and therefore have been taken advantage of by the wicked old forces. This serious problem has been raised and discussed with the local practitioners through the Clearwisdom website. Because of Dafa disciples' righteous thoughts, the detention center in Changli County has recently been dismantled.

Since 1999, when Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Dafa, the persecution of Dafa practitioners by the perpetrators in Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, has been unabated and extremely brutal. Prompted by the 610 Office of the county government, the police confiscated people's property by force and beat innocent citizens savagely. The following is a brief description of the plight of some Dafa practitioners who have been illegally arrested and sentenced or sent to labor camps. There is no specific data on those who have been detained and whose homes have been searched more than once.
There are 14 Dafa practitioners from Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, who have been given illegal prison sentences. The practitioners and their sentences are as follows: Zhou Xiangdang (9 years, Jidong Prison in Tangshan City); Wang Hongping (8 years, Jidong Prison in Tangshan City); Zhang Hongwu (7 years); Liu Shimin (6 years); Guo Jinghua (5 years); Zhang Weijin (4 years, then was transferred to a brainwashing center in Changli from Shijiazhuang Prison after his term was up in November 2004; he has been detained for a total of 21 months); Li Xiangling (3 years, wife of Zhou Xiangdang; she too was transferred to the Changli brainwashing center after she served her 3-year term, and walked out of the brainwashing center with righteous thoughts a month later); Wang Yinxia (3 years with 5-year probation); Wang Xiangyu (3 years with 4-year probation); Liu Aihua (3 years with 4-year probation); Wang Xiaojun (3 years with 3-year probation); Zhang Lishuang (3 years with 3-year probation); Wang Guirong (3 years with 3-year probation); and Li Zhongwen (3 years with 3-year probation). The above illegally-sentenced Dafa practitioners are being held at prisons in the cities of Tangshan, Baoding, and Shijiazhuang.
There are 22 Dafa practitioners who have been illegally sent to labor camps. They are: Ma Baohong, Wang Qiang, Zuo Guangdian, Wang Jun, Guo Yuting, Shen Yanru, Shan Guihua, Yang Shuqiang, Zhang Guizhi, Zhang Guiying, Wang Xiuli, Sun Fenglian, Lu Fengyun, Wang Lixia, Ju Xia, Liu Dongmei, Guo Huanfen, He Guixia, Li Shuli (persecuted to death in 2004 at Hehuakeng Labor Camp in Tangshan City, details to be provided), Guo Lijun, Yang Fengying (still detained), and Wang Qinghua (on parole).
During the holiday week of China's National Day (October 1), the police in Matuodian Township, Changli County started a fresh round of harassment and illegal investigations of some of the Dafa practitioners who had just returned from detention.
Three Practitioners from Sichuan, Liaoning and Beijing Die from Continual Harassment and Persecution

Mr. Li Zhengjin from Yibin City, Sichuan Province, Dies from Continual Harassment and Persecution
Mr. Li Zhengjin, 61 years old, was a Dafa practitioner in Xunchang Town, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Before practicing Falun Dafa, he suffered from paralysis and had to lie in bed for long periods of time. After starting to practice in 1998, he was miraculously cured. In 2001, he went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Because of this action, he was illegally imprisoned and tortured by criminals for ten months. Even after being released, the police continued to harass him at home and even broke into and ransacked his residence. The long-term psychological pressure and inability to peacefully practice his beliefs caused Mr. Li's newly healthy body to deteriorate and severe diseases again re-emerged. Around August 14, 2005, the Yibin City 610 Office started to use lies and threats to arrest practitioners in Yibin City and imprison them in the brainwashing center at the Jinshajing Hotel. Mr. Li's feeble body was unable to withstand the torture so he was sent home. A few days after this latest series of harassment, torture and persecution, Mr. Li Zhengjin died.
Ms. Jiang Guiqing from Dalian City, Liaoning Province Dies from Continual Harassment and Persecution
Ms. Jiang Guiqing was a practitioner in Qianzhangtun, Shaojia Village, Pikou Town, Pulandian Area, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She passed away on October 1, 2003, at the age of 64 due to the effects of constant harassment and torture.
Ms. Jiang's entire family practiced Falun Gong, and every family member has suffered persecution since July 20, 1999, when the assault on Falun Gong began.
Zhang Yunxin, Ms. Jiang's husband, had been persecuted numerous times by Chinese Communist Party officials. He was illegally detained at the Pulandian Detention Centre for going to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999. In 2000, he was illegally arrested and detained by the Xinghaiwan Police Station for 15 days at the Dalian Detention Centre for practicing the exercises in Xinghai Square in Dalian City. In April 2002, he was once again arrested and imprisoned in the brainwashing center at the Dalian City Party School. His home has been broken into and ransacked on several occasions.
Their eldest daughter, Zhang Min, was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City in 1999.
Their second daughter, Zhang Qin, has been arrested several times, the most recently, with her husband, Wang Changbao. The Yangshufang Police Station in the Pulandian Area arrested them for distributing materials that clarified the truth about the persecution. Ms. Zhang Qin was sentenced to forced labor for three years and Mr. Wang was sentenced to two years. Both husband and wife are imprisoned in Dalian City Forced Labor Camp. They have also been extorted out of 5,000 yuan.
Their youngest daughter, Zhang Ling, has been arrested many times. In April 2002, she was arrested together with her father Zhang Yunxin and was sent to a brainwashing center. Nevertheless, she has always maintained her righteous thoughts.
Ms. Jiang Guiqing's home was broken into and ransacked many times. Under the long-term red-terror persecution, and because Ms. Jiang was unable to practice cultivation normally, she was devastated both physically and mentally. She died on October 1, 2003.
Beijing Practitioner Ms. Song Xiaohui Dies from Continual Harassment and Persecution
Beijing practitioner Ms. Song Xiaohui, approximately 50 years of age, was persecuted to death sometime in early 2005 after having been forced to leave her home to avoid arrest for three years. During those three years, she stayed at a truth clarifying materials production site and helped produce the materials.

My Cultivation Experience

I feel so fortunate to have obtained Dafa in April of 1996. It was a sunny day when I went to an experience sharing conference held in the auditorium of the No. 18 Institute of the Handan Iron and Steel Group Chemical Company Ltd. I sat there and listened from morning until 1:00 p.m. That evening I asked my son to lend me the precious book, Zhuan Falun. I finished reading the book in three days. Because I realized the value and preciousness of the book, I wanted to keep reading it every day, and still do. I also listened to Dafa lectures on tape cassettes and watched the videotapes. I strived to conduct myself according to Dafa's requirements, and my mind was expanding continuously. Master often prompted me to do the exercises, and purified my body for me.
I used to suffer from breast tissue hyperplasia, adnexitis, stomatitis and many types of ailments of the reproductive system. I often had pain that lasted up to 15 days at a time. If someone accidentally bumped the front of my body, I would be in great pain. After I started practicing Falun Gong, however, I took my recorder at 4:00 a.m. and went to the practice site to do the exercises. I joined group Fa study in the evening, and my xinxing improved quickly. All of my illnesses completely disappeared, and I felt very lighthearted. Dafa became the most important thing in my life, and I wanted to spend my spare time on it. I wanted to share it with others, so I went to the nearby villages to teach the exercises.
First, fellow practitioners and I went to Yaozhanbao Township to spread Dafa. We biked over 37 miles roundtrip. The streets were full of potholes but we were very happy. When we arrived at the village someone asked us, "How much do you charge for a day of teaching?" I answered, "We don't want money. We teach for free!" At first the villagers didn't believe us. They thought, "There is no free lunch."
When we entered a village, people from neighboring villages also came. One time there were about 200 people who gathered to learn. Master encouraged me when I was doing the exercises, and I saw rainbow-colored light and beautiful flowers through my celestial vision. We encountered bone-chilling wind and snow on our way home. I was slower and fell behind the other practitioners. My feet were frozen and I could not get off the bike, yet I enjoyed overcoming the difficulties. I saw Master's image in my mind and He was smiling. Now, I really miss the cultivation environment Master created for us back then.
On April 11, 1999, four practitioners including me went to Huade County to spread Dafa. We arrived at a narrow street covered with fine sand. There was snow on the street, and the snow swirling around in the wind found its way under our shirt collars. The sun rarely came out. Two practitioners taught at one village. One practitioner held the recorder and another practitioner put up banners. We taught the exercises at noon and played the instruction video in the evening. We sat among the villagers. One practitioner asked me, "How old are you; early 30s maybe? You have a really healthy glow." I answered, "I'm over 50 years old. I used to be extremely sick. I spent over 100 yuan each month on medication and still lived in pain more than half the time. Master saved me and made me healthy. I look young because those illnesses are gone. My body feels so light."
Sometimes my self-centeredness and human emotions emerged when spreading Dafa. With Master's prompts and protection I continuously corrected myself. I constantly upgraded my xinxing, and I grew braver. Once, to finish some task, I took the bus by myself to Shangyi County, which was a remote distance from my home. My purpose was to take Master's new articles there and return some lecture audiocassettes. It was early July, 1999, and at the time the police was searching every bus to find Falun Gong practitioners on their way to Beijing to appeal. My trip was very smooth. I felt almost as though I was on a private bus, because Master was protecting me. One practice site assistant asked me to stay and play Master's lecture tapes. I said, "I must return right now, because more than 20 people are at my home waiting to watch Master's lecture tapes!" I left and looked for a bus, and what a coincidence! It was the same bus I took earlier that morning. I got on the bus and put my things beside me. The police came on the bus and asked the driver, "Who is she?" The driver pointed at me and said, "That's my relative." With Master's benevolent protection, I didn't have any fear and returned safely.
The persecution started on July 20, 1999. On August 29, 1999, we held a Fa conference at a practitioner's home in the Zhongshi District, Zhangjiakou City. Twenty-nine of us were illegally arrested. The perpetrators were officers from the Hongqilou Police Department. At the police department we recited "Hong Yin," and clarified the truth to the police officers assigned to monitor us. They didn't know what to do. One officer said, "If I keep watching you guys I'll end up practicing Falun Gong myself. Stop telling me about it." Later, 12 of us were sent to a brainwashing class held at the Qiaodong Party School. We were forbidden to sleep for days on end, and forced to watch slanderous videos. Because all of us resisted these Dafa-slandering things, the graphics disappeared from the screen on the third night. They ordered us to write a guarantee statement to promise not to practice Falun Gong or go to Beijing to appeal. We refused, and they forced us to stand for a whole night. At noon they made us stand outside in the sweltering heat and didn't allow us to eat or drink. They also didn't permit our families to visit us. Police officers stood in a circle and hurled insults at us.
Because I had attachments that I had not relinquished, I reluctantly give up Dafa during the persecution. The police extorted 1,100 yuan from my family without issuing any paperwork. After this tribulation I eliminated my attachments and corrected myself through Fa study, and I soon dove back into the current of Fa rectification.
On December 31, 2000, I took a train to Beijing and shouted my heartfelt words, "Falun Dafa is good!" A dozen police officers abducted me and took me to the Tiananmen Police Department where more than 200 practitioners were already being held. We studied the Fa together and our voices suppressed the evil. They later transferred me to the Chaoyang District Police Department. Because I had fear, I was tricked into giving my name and address. I was subsequently sent to the Hongqilou Police Department in Zhangjiakou City.
I was tortured with the tiger bench for three days and three nights. Jia Cheng, the affairs division secretary, searched me and took 50 yuan from me. The head of the police department named He, extorted 3,000 yuan from my son. Gao, head of the factory security section, deducted 3,000 yuan from my salary and subjected me to an illegal fine of 10,000 yuan. Perpetrators from the Hongqilou Affairs Division ransacked my home and stole my TV and refrigerator. Four to seven perpetrators from the Hongqilou Affairs Division came to my home daily to harass me. They tried to put me in a police car but I refused to cooperate with them. Deng, Lu and Wang from the factory's 610 Office also came to harass me daily. I could not quiet my mind to concentrate on Fa study. The attachments I clung to tortured me for over a month. With help from Master I improved amidst the tribulation.
On April 14, 2001, four police officers, including the head of the police department, abducted me and took me to the Hongqilou Police Department. They took all of my Dafa books and Master's pictures. They didn't have any warrant to search my home. They later sent me to the Xuanhua Police Department where I was savagely tortured and illegally held for 102 days. I was severely traumatized by the tortures I suffered at the Xuanhua Police Department. I had been unable to study the Fa for a long time when I got home from the police department and I anxiously looked for Dafa books (as mine had been stolen). Other practitioners quickly gave me some Dafa books. People from the police department, the street party committee and the neighborhood committee surrounded my home and harassed me even more severely on so-called sensitive days. To avoid additional harassment from the evildoers I returned to my hometown and located about six practitioners. We studied the Fa together.
My hometown was a great place for me to clarify the truth and offer salvation to sentient beings. My relatives all came to visit me, and I clarified the truth and validated the wonders of Dafa with my superb physical condition. I told them about the shamelessness and brutality of this persecution and told them it's completely based on lies. During truth clarification I deeply felt that Dafa practitioners should openly clarify the truth and judge themselves according to the Fa. Truth clarification is a process to eliminate fear and a process to offer sentient beings salvation; it is also a process to negate the old forces' arrangements and build mighty virtue. Compared to how I conducted myself in the past, I see that I used to have fear when clarifying the truth. I used to avoid plainclothes police officers and other types of police. I did not clarify the truth to people wearing an emblem on their sleeves, thinking they were government officials. The way I conducted myself at that time conformed to the old forces' arrangements. As a result, I often experienced interference where none of my family members supported me, because they were afraid of being implicated should I get abducted again. I was exhausted from having to constantly deal with the interference. I was most happy when I did Dafa work, and my heart was most content when I sat down and studied Dafa. After I studied Dafa my heart quickly calmed down and all troubles disappeared.
I went to each shop in the street to clarify the truth to them, regardless of whether they were large supermarkets or small private shops. I delivered truth clarification materials to each one of them and joined group Fa study in the evening. I feel that I have been taking each step with Master tugging me along. He helped me get up and keep going forward after I tripped and fell down. Many times after I studied Dafa, I felt certain things I had done were letting down our benevolent Master and Dafa. Later, I published an announcement on the Minghui website to void all of my words and actions said and done as a result of being under pressure. I said I would make up for the losses I caused Dafa, and firmly refuse to acknowledge any form of persecution imposed on me by the old forces and the dark minions. I will closely follow Master and keep cultivating until the end.
I was relieved after I published the announcement. By then I had overcome many attachments and was really trying my best to do whatever Dafa required. I clarified the truth to predestined people on the way to and from my grandson's kindergarten class. The articles by fellow practitioners on the Minghui website also truly helped me to clarify the truth better.
I found out that I had heavy human attachments. I would become complacent when I clarified the truth well, and upset if I did not do so well. Sometimes it is difficult for me to accept it if someone opposes me or is rude to me. That's why truth clarification is a process to cultivate and improve.
In the past few years I have eliminated many human attachments through clarifying the truth to people. I just wanted to share with fellow practitioners my strengths and shortcomings over the past six years. Please benevolently point out anything inappropriate!
Poison Needles Are Powerless Against Righteous Thoughts

Since the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, the evil regime has begun a massive operation to arrest practitioners who spread the Nine Commentaries as well as truth clarification materials. In Chengdu City, criminals have knocked practitioners out before tying them up in sacks and carrying them away. Some drive a van beside the unsuspecting practitioner walking on the road and covertly pull them into the van. These criminals do not wear police uniforms or drive police cars, and only carry out such activities surreptitiously. They have brutally tortured the practitioners that they have abducted with many different methods. When practitioners persistently refuse to submit, these criminals inject the practitioners with poison or force the practitioners to ingest large doses of drugs that stimulate the central nervous system. As a result, some practitioners have become mentally disoriented. When the practitioners are finally sent home, their family members find them to be in a state of mental disorder due to the brutal torture. Even when other practitioners come and sit in a circle to send righteous thoughts and read Dafa books to them, they do not respond.
There was a practitioner who was trained in the use of Chinese medicine and in fact specialized in mental disorders. So when some practitioners had the understanding that when one's physical body has not been turned into high-energy matter, it was acceptable to use medicine to help steady their minds, this practitioner prescribed some medicine for the ill practitioner. After taking the medicine, he did show some improvement, so some practitioners mistakenly took this as proof that the medicine was behind the improvement and this was okay to do.
I would like to share some of my personal experiences with other practitioners with respect to this issue, and hope that, in this last moment of Fa-rectification, fellow practitioners would be able to maintain righteous thoughts and overcome the evil, so that the conspiracy to prevent us from saving sentient beings by persecuting us with poison and drugs will no longer have any effect.
On January 5, 2000, I was illegally arrested by the county 610 Office while I was at work and imprisoned in the detention center for several months. At that time, the 610 Office instigated a former practitioner who used to be a coordinator at a practice site to try to persuade me to write a "guarantee letter, but I simply ignored the effort. Then they brought my parents to lure and threaten me into submission, but none of these tactics ever swayed my righteous belief in Dafa. On the contrary, I "clarified the truth" to others in the detention room every day, and they all quickly learned of the goodness of Dafa. Some of them even began studying the Fa and learning the exercises with me. The 610 detention center became a site for spreading the Fa and practicing the exercises. They were very afraid when a prominent person in the 610 Office told me, "I cannot beat you on any logical grounds in a verbal argument, but I will torture you to death!" Several days later, they imprisoned me in a mental hospital. I was tied in a star-shape on the bed every day and injected with poison and drugs. After I was injected with poison the first time, my thoughts became fuzzy and I began seeing stars. The world began to spin and I felt energy draining away from me. My entire body began trembling non-stop, I vomited often, and my lips turned black. I was unable to get out of bed at all. I knew that I had been poisoned, so I closed my eyes and allowed my saliva, tears and mucus in my nostrils to flow non-stop until the entire bed was wet. Even in this state, I was very clear in my mind. I told myself that the evils were nothing to be afraid of and that I had to maintain a strong main consciousness.

The evil cannot harm my body. My primordial spirit is in another dimension, how can drugs in this dimension of human society affect other dimensions? Three days later when my husband came to visit me, he could not recognize me at all. All he saw was that my body was swollen, my eyes were staring, my body was trembling nonstop, and my hair was a mess. He was shocked and cried. I told him that he must be strong and that all these symptoms would soon pass. I spoke two sentences, and my heart beat so wildly that it almost made me lose consciousness. Nevertheless, I persevered and recited "On Buddha Law," "Hongyin," and other Dafa texts. All my righteous thoughts came from the Fa, firmly believing that
"Obtaining Fa, one is already immortal." (from "Saving Beings Far and Wide" in Hongyin, version B)
As such, I was never afraid for a single moment. More than ten days later, my body began to recover, and I continued to make use of every chance I had to clarify the truth to mental patients and visitors. I cared for each and every mental patient and helped collect the chamber pots, feed them, help them take showers, maintain hygiene, and wash their clothes when they sometimes became mentally deranged. Very soon the surrounding environment improved and everyone said that I was a good person.
To practitioners who have become mentally disordered as a result of the persecution, I am wondering if it is possible that their main consciousness was terrified by the evil when they tried to threaten them with the poison. Or, after being injected with poison, they had the notion that with the poison in their bodies, they would be harmed, and became more and more afraid the more they thought about it, thus causing them to lose their sanity. Teacher has already taught us the Fa that with righteous thoughts, we can overcome the evil. As long as we have strong righteous thoughts, with Teacher around, and countless righteous gods, the poison needles would not be able to harm our indestructible adamantine body. From my own perspective, I also feel that prescribing sedatives for practitioners who are mentally unsound is not the best way to help them. Let us all eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts and help practitioners regain their footsteps back into Dafa and the tide of rescuing sentient beings.
Denying the Old Forces' Arrangements Helped My Mother Recover from Cancer
(Clearwisdom.net) My mother had breast cancer in 1992 and was cured. Near the end of last year, however, she suddenly fell ill again. She spit out blood and there was also blood in her urine. We took her to the hospital and the doctor performed a color ultrasound. He found that my mother had cancer in her bladder and liver. She also had kidney stones, which caused her a lot of pain.
I asked myself what I should do. If I followed the principles of everyday people, then I would have to focus all my attention on taking care of my mother, but there are also higher-level principles.
Teacher told us,
"...the things that happen to ordinary people, as Buddhists put it, all have underlying causes, and for ordinary people things like birth, aging, sickness, and death are just a fact of life." (Zhuan Falun 2003, "The First Talk")
My mother is one of the sentient beings. Birth, aging, sickness, and death are the things that the old forces have arranged for her. I must deny the old forces' arrangements. I must not allow the old forces to interfere with me. I need to walk my cultivation path well.
When my mother was ill before, I played Teacher's Fa-lectures to her and I explained to her the purpose and the meaning of cultivation. She knows that I am a cultivator. I was forced to undergo a series of brainwashing sessions in the beginning of 2001. I was unconscious when I was released. It was the Fa that restored my life, so she knew that I couldn't live without the Fa and my heart is devoted to clarifying the truth to save people. She had righteous thoughts and never once asked me to stop what I am doing to take care of her.
A miracle happened after one month. She was able to eat and drink and go downstairs again. Dafa is magnificent! She felt sick again this June. They did another color ultrasound and found there was cancer in her liver again. Like the last time, I treated it with a peaceful heart. I abandoned the notions of everyday people. I denied the old forces' arrangements by focusing on doing the three things that I should do as a Dafa disciple. After some time, my mother got well again. She's a healthy person now. Isn't this amazing?
We can tell from my experience that as Dafa disciples, as long as we study the Fa more to strengthen our righteous thoughts and deny the old forces' arrangements, we will be able to go beyond everyday peoples' qing.
I know it was Teacher that solved my mother's tribulations and showed us His boundless compassion. I think Teacher also tried to encourage me via my mother's story that the cultivation path is not difficult as long as we study the Fa, strengthen our righteous thoughts, and do well with the three things that Teacher has asked us to do.
People's Hearts Determine their Future
After Developing Kind Thoughts, Good Fortune Arrives and Calamities Disappear
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhao, a farmer in the countryside near Langfang City in Hebei Province had a strange disease in May 2004. One month later, a doctor diagnosed her as having "suppurative arthritis." This disease caused fluid accumulation between the joints and flesh of her legs. Every time she visited the doctor, he would withdraw two tubes of fluid from her legs with a 50 milliliter injector, causing her much pain. In order to cure the disease, she tried various treatments and an operation, but her health didn't recover and she could no longer afford the expensive medical bills, so she remained at home. She had to lie in bed for nine months after returning home without additional treatment. This caused the muscles in her upper limbs to wither. The 20,000 yuan paid in medical expenses was a huge burden for a peasant family, and the whole family lost the happiness that they had previously.
In May 2005, a Dafa practitioner went to Ms. Zhao's home and told her about the magnificence and beauty of Dafa, and she listened very attentively. When this practitioner was about to leave, Ms. Zhao suddenly had a thought, "Dafa is so wonderful and this practitioner talked to me for so long for my own benefit, I should see her off." With such a thought, a miracle happened: she got out of her bed and walked a few steps! Her family was startled, and everyone present was very excited. They all said, "Dafa is really miraculous."
The following day, she promptly called that practitioner to ask for a copy of a Dafa book, and said that she wanted to practice. After the Dafa practitioner sent her the book, another miracle happened. This 51-year-old woman didn't even finish grade three of elementary school, but when she opened Zhuan Falun, she could read the whole book and copy some sentences in the book. Her husband said, "We have been married for over 25 years, but I never saw you reading any book before. This really is a miracle." Then she also asked to learn the exercises.
Only three days later, which was the fifth day after she obtained Dafa, an even greater miracle happened. She could not only get out of bed to cook and wash clothes, but also walk around like a healthy person. Just over ten days later was wheat harvest time, and she rode a bike to the field to reap the winter wheat with her family. Her neighbors and all the villagers could not believe their eyes, and asked her how she was able to recover. She told them the process of obtaining Dafa and finally told people, "Falun Dafa is wonderful and it is Dafa that saved our whole family!"
Due to this earth-shaking change, her family also changed from opposing her practice of Dafa to heartfelt support of Dafa. Now her whole family practices Falun Dafa and the past smiles and cheerful talks have returned to her home once again. She always tells whoever she meets, "Dafa saved my whole family."
The Story of a Practitioner's Supportive Husband

Although he is not a practitioner, a practitioner's husband has been helping to clarify the truth and distribute truth-clarifying literature since July 1999, when Jiang's regime started its brutal persecution of Falun Gong. At home he always reminds his wife, a Falun Gong practitioner, to not forget to study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts and practice the Falun Gong exercises. Sometimes his wife fell short in her cultivation, and he kindly encouraged her to continue. One day, when his wife hesitated to distribute truth-clarifying flyers, he said, "Don't worry. You can go study the Fa at home. I'll do it whenever I have time. It's not difficult to pass out these flyers."
In late November 2004, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published on the Epoch Times website. Because he accepted the CCP education he'd received since he was a child, he initially refused to even read the Nine Commentaries. He said that Dafa practitioners were involving themselves in political affairs. But after a few practitioners clarified the truth to him more in depth, he gradually realized the true nature of the CCP. He read the entire Nine Commentaries in one night. One day he helped to distribute the book in nearby communities. After he got home, practitioners started checking to see if there was any duplicate distribution of the book. It was found that one family had received two books. As the book was so precious and in short supply, he decided to get one book back from the family. He said, "Don't worry, I have an idea." He went out and soon returned with the book.
On February 15, 2005, Teacher Li published his new article, "Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World." He realized after reading it that quitting the CCP, the Youth League and the Young Pioneers was very important. The next day, starting at first light, he visited his close friends, his brother, the head of the village and the formal Secretary of the village CCP Committee, talking about the Nine Commentaries to each family, and convincing them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
One day this March, while he was driving a truck loaded with more than 1,500 kilograms of corn, another big truck approached from the opposite direction. He quickly maneuvered his truck to the right side of the road to make way. At that moment, a 16-year-old boy who was riding a bike suddenly came out from a small alley and collided with his truck. Although he tried to swerve away from the boy, the truck wheels still ran over the boy's lower legs. He immediately called for a taxi to take the boy to the city hospital 50 miles away. On their way to the hospital in the taxi, he kept asking for Teacher's help in his heart, "I've never committed any major wrongdoing in my life. Please rescue this boy. Don't let his legs be broken. I'll drive more carefully next time. Please, please rescue him!" After the doctors examined the boy's legs at the hospital, they told him that everything was okay. He was so touched that he didn't know how to express his appreciation for what Teacher did for him.
Since then, although he's not a Falun Gong practitioner, he's always keeps Dafa in mind in his daily life. He makes his living by buying and selling corn and wheat; buying from farmers and selling in the bigger markets. Currently in China, many people do bad things in business in order to make money. When he goes to buy corn, instead of taking a measure with him, he accepts the sellers' measurements of the weight of their products. Others who buy and sell grain are sometimes unable to buy them, but he is always able to buy grain because of his honesty and good reputation. He is content whether a farmer is willing to sell their products to him or not, but he makes a point of telling each of them that Falun Dafa is good. He tells everyone he meets, no matter his or her age or circumstance.
One day this year he went to a village to buy corn. He met an old woman, and he started to clarify the truth to her. He told her that he never deceives the farmers when buying products from them, and that he is happy to let the farmers measure their products themselves. The old lady felt that what he told her was impossible. Who had ever heard of such an honest businessman? According to the current standard, he was behaving like a fool. Despite her misgivings, she sold her corn to him, and found that he'd told her the truth. She said to him with pleasure, "You may come again tomorrow, and I'll help you buy more corn." With her help, he easily purchased corn in that village for nearly a month. Most of the farmers in the village sold corn to him, and they all learned that "Falun Dafa is good."

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] At Least 25 Practitioners Arrested on September 23
Recently, various police departments in Daqing City have deployed a large number of police officers to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. On the morning of September 23, 2005 alone, at least 25 practitioners were arrested. It has been verified that the following practitioners were arrested:
Ms. Chen Changxiu, Ms. Li Shumei, Mr. Yu Chen, Mr. Yu's wife and son-in-law, Mr. Li Yi and his wife, and Ms. Cao Shuxia in Ranghulu District.
Mr. Bai Yufu, Mr. Zhang Lixin and his wife, Mr. Li Qingzuo from Chinese Medicine Clinic, Mr. Li Junmi, Mr. Jia Xianjun in Donghu area.
Ms. Liu Li from Longfengchangxi and Ms. Chen Qingli from Dongfeng Residential Complex in Saertu District.
Ms. Tang Zengye, Ms. Lan Sufang and Mr. Ge Zhenming from No. 3 Oil Extraction Plant.
Mr. Zheng Hongjun from Babaishang.
Ms. Gao Guifen, her husband and their daughter from Daqing University.
Ms. Yu Guixiang from Ranghulu District had to be sent to a hospital for rescue as a result of cruel torture.
In addition, Mr. Cao Jingdong and Mr. Zhang Hongquan from Chengfengzhuang, Mr. Cao Zhiqing, Mr. Li Zongtai and Mr. Li Yongjiu from Babaishang area, and Mr. Bi and his wife Ms. Song Jiewen from Ranghulu District were also arrested.
2. [Shou County, Anhui Province] Mr. Fang Xijie and Mr. Sheng Chengyou Arrested
At around 8:00 p.m. on September 5, 2005, Liu Xintian, head of the political security section of Shou County Police Department, Chen from the Nanguan Police Station, and other officers broke into Mr. Fang Xijie's store and Mr. Sheng Chenyou's home for unlawful searches. Mr. Fang is a peasant in Shuangqiao Town, Shou County. Mr. Sheng is an employee of Shou County Highway Department. Both of them have been held in Shou County Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Zuo Changxi and His Wife Ms. Zhao Xuefeng from Xuanwu District Face Unlawful Trial
Mr. Zuo Changxi and his wife Mrs. Zhao Xuefeng are about 40 years old, and are from Xuanwu District, Beijing. At 7:00 a.m. one morning in early March 2005, officers from Guang'anmennei Police Station arrested them in their homes. The officers confiscated a laser printer, a fax machine, a DVD burner, and a personal computer. Their son, who is in the third year of high school, has been left at home alone.
The couple has been transferred from No. 7 Division of Beijing Police Department to the detention center of Xuanwu Police Department. They are facing upcoming trials.
5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Tang Zhiheng and Mr. Huang Songtian Sentenced to Prison
In December 2004, Mr. Tang Zhiheng and Mr. Huang Songtian from Sanyuanli, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, were arrested. They have recently been sentenced to 4 ½ years and 4 years in prison respectively.
6. [Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Yin Unjustly Dismissed by Jilin Radiation Chemical Industry Company
On September 23, 2005, officials of Jilin City Radiation Chemical Industry Company decided to dismiss Mr. Wang Yin. Mr. Wang managed to avoid being arrested by officers from Jilin City State Security Department (who also demanded officials of the radiation company to participate). Mr. Wang remains homeless to avoid further persecution.

Local residents arrested them and called in the police. Ms. Han and Ms. Li were arrested by officers from Baishan Township Police Station and Hongqi Town Police Station and sent to Jilin City No. 3 Detention Center.
8. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Mr. Cui Delin Arrested
On the evening of September 27, 2005, Mr. Cui Delin from Renqiu City, Hebei Province was arrested while he was distributing truth clarifying materials. Mr. Cui is being held at the Jinzhong Police Department.

On the afternoon of September 17, 2005, Ms. Wang Fengrong and Liu Guidong, both from Caizhufang Village in Guangmingshan Town, Zhuanghe, Dalian City, went out to clarify the truth. Fang Zhongxing, a group head in Fangtun, Guangmingshan Village, Guangmingshan Town, turned them in to the police. On the morning of September 18, Zhu Wenxi, police station director, and officers Xu and Xia detained the two practitioners on criminal charges and searched their homes. The two practitioners were taken to Zhuanghe City Detention Center. On September 21, Ms. Wang was released. Liu Guidong remains in custody.

On the morning of June 23, 2005, thirteen practitioners in Bamiantong, Muling City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested, including Ms. Liu Huidi, Ms. Gu Yan, Mr. Sun Shiwei, Ms. Zhang Yanfen, Mr. Liu Yan, Mrs. Wang Limei and husband Mr. Lu Laosi, and Mr. Kou Qiang (who is paralyzed from the chest down).
In addition, Ms. Liu Wenying from Yichun District of Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province was arrested by the local police at noon on September 26, 2005.
On September 23, 2005, Mr. Zhao Bin of Donghai Mine in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province was arrested. Mr. Gong Zhijun was arrested on September 25. Mr. Li Yongsheng from Hongxing Township, Jixi City was arrested on September 26.
At around 4:30 a.m. on September 23, Ms. Zhang Hongmei and Ms. Li Hua from Wangkui County in the Suihua area in Heilongjiang Province were arrested by officers from Wangkui Police Department and Suihua State Security Department.
11. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Yanjiang Arrested by 610 Office - Her Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Huang Yanjiang lives in the former dormitories of the Ship and Machinery Factory on Xiadu Road. A month ago officials of the local neighborhood administration office and officers from the Haizhu District 610 Office abducted her to an undisclosed location.
12. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gao Chunmei and Ms. Yuan Ling Arrested by Xuzhou 610 Office
Police in Quanshan District and those from Xuzhou 610 Office arrested Ms. Gao Chunmei and Ms. Yuan Ling on September 18 and September 28, 2005. Ms. Gao and Ms. Xu are being held in a brainwashing center set up in the Suyuan Hotel.
144 People Declare that their Words and Deeds Under Forced Brainwashing are Null and Void
A Total of 296381 Declarations Have Been Published To Date
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
