Concerned People Telling the World about Falun Gong and the Persecution in China: 2005-10-09

(Clearwisdom.net) Many Falun Gong practitioners were recently arrested in Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province, Liaoning Province, Beijing, Hebei Province, Henan Province, Hubei Province, Shandong Province, Ningxia Province, Anhui Province and Guangdong Province. Some were tortured to death. This is another crime the Chinese Communist Party has committed against innocent people. The two people ultimately responsible for running this persecution are Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan, two of Jiang Zemin's most trusted aides.

Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan are diehard followers of Jiang Zemin. They have played the role of thugs in the persecution of Falun Gong. One directed executing the persecution and another one planned it behind the scenes. After Jiang Zemin was forced to give up his power, Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan were still in power and carried on the policies created specifically to persecute Falun Gong. They became Jiang Zemin's spokesmen among the political elite for the persecution .

According to one source, Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan are planning another round of large-scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners through the secret service system, the judicial system and the legal system. Their goal is to trap Hu Jintao by creating an escalation of persecution after Hu became the president, so Hu Jintao would have no choice but to become the scapegoat for the continuation of the persecution.

Falun Gong teaches Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, principles that would benefit any country and people. Only jealous, foolish and vile criminals like Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan and Zeng Qinghong would launch a fanatical attack against Falun Gong practitioners. It is obvious that persecution of the innocent is a stupid thing to do, not to mention the suppression of an upright belief. The persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang and certain people in the CCP was doomed from the start, because history has shown that upright beliefs ultimately always triumph over their persecutors.

In the past six years, Falun Gong practitioners have made tremendous sacrifices. With great courage they clarified the truth about Falun Gong to people whose minds were poisoned by the CCP's lies. In the process they eliminated hatred and misunderstandings that were disseminated by specific people in the CCP. Falun Gong practitioners are peaceful, rational, compassionate and courageous. Following the principles of Falun Dafa, they have written the most glorious page in history and brought hope to mankind.

With the practitioners' efforts, Falun Gong has spread to more than 70 countries and regions in the world, and governments outside of China have learned the facts. Lies are useless and violence futile. The persecution is finally approaching its demise.

Practicing Falun Gong as Chinese citizens is the practitioners' right, and they clarify the truth out of great compassion. Persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and interference with their truth clarification efforts are crimes against a righteous belief. We will not stand for Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan to continue the persecution for their personal gain.

We give a solemn warning to Zeng and Luo: any debt of blood that you owe today will become another piece of evidence of your crime that will be investigated thoroughly, and you will have to stand accountable for them in the future. In the brutal persecution against millions of compassionate cultivators, the evil CCP and the main culprit Jiang Zemin have committed unforgivable crimes, who will soon inevitably receive harsh punishment from the heavenly law. Zeng and Luo will not be able to escape their fate and must take responsibility for what they have done.

We also give a solemn warning to those who are following Zeng Qinghong and Luo Gan in this persecution: don't harm the innocent and don't follow the evil CCP and the dictator on the path toward destruction! If you don't stop in your tracks, you'll never be able to redeem yourself from your crimes.

We also urge the Chinese leadership to reflect on its policies and actions, and think about whether it wants to indulge and consent for this crime to continue, whether they want to be Jiang Zemin's scapegoat. Facing injustice and crimes, Falun Gong practitioners will clarify the truth as they have always done until the persecution stops; however, the time that the history has left for the perpetrators of the persecution is very limited.

Facts of the Persecution

September 2005: Deaths of an Additional 44 Falun Gong Practitioners Confirmed (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) The deaths of another 44 Falun Gong practitioners have been verified in September 2005. Since the CCP and Jiang's group launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, to date 2,742 Falun Gong practitioners have died, most as a result of torture.

Among the 44 deaths, 24 were female practitioners, 550f the total; 31 practitioners were above 55 years of age, 700f the total; 24 practitioners died in 2005, among whom 7 died in September. According to statistics on the Minghui website, 360 Falun Gong practitioners died between January 2005 and September 2005.

The 44 cases are distributed across 12 provinces and autonomous regions. Eight deaths took place in Hebei Province, six deaths in Heilongjiang Province, six in Shandong Province, five in Liaoning Province, five in Sichuan Province, four deaths in Jilin Province, four deaths in Henan Province, two deaths in Guizhou Province, one in Gansu Province, one each in Hunan Province, Shaanxi Province and in the Guangxi Zhuang Ethnic Autonomous Region.

In the past six years, Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China have been deprived of their right of freedom of belief, their right to appeal and to defend themselves in a court, and their right to express their opinion openly in society. Some practitioners were arrested, sentenced to prison or forced labor and tortured to death only because they told their neighbors or colleagues about Falun Gong's health benefits and the facts about the persecution.

Mr. Jia Junxi beaten to death in Henan Province; police threaten his family, "Nothing will happen, even if you sue us in Beijing"

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Jia Junxi, 58 years old, lived in Qianxiaozhuang Village in Daxin Township, Fugou County, Henan Province. He was arrested on August 18, 2005 while clarifying the truth. Mr. Jia was tortured to death around August 29 at the county detention center. Jia Junxi was held in solitary confinement on August 28, where, on orders from the guards, four inmates beat him savagely. The solitary confinement cell door remained locked for the following 24 hours, and no one checked on Jia Junxi during this period. On August 30, the perpetrators sent Jia Junxi's stiff body to the county hospital in an attempt to cover up the crime of torture that killed him. The doctor asked, "Why are you bringing in a dead body?" The doctor refused to let the perpetrators bring the body into a ward, so they put Jia Junxi's body in the hallway. Around 6:00 p.m. on August 30, Jia Junxi's family received a death notice from the Fugou County Police Department. His family and some fellow villagers went to the hospital. They saw that Jia Junxi's teeth were clenched, his eyes wide open, one hand held in a tight fist, one leg was half bent, and his body was deformed. They confronted the perpetrators, "Why was he in such a wretched state? How did he die?" The police answered, "Heart attack." His family was suspicious and asked for an autopsy. The police said, "Nothing's going to happen even if you sue us in Beijing."

The police ignored the family's protests and cremated the body later that night. Jia Junxi's wife held the box with his ashes and said, "He left home a healthy person, and now he's a pile of ashes!"

Ms. Ren Shujie emaciated from torture, passes away

Ms. Ren Shujie, 42 years old, was a practitioner from the Tiexi District in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. She was the owner of a fabric shop in the Donghu Market, Yuhong District. Ms. Ren began to practice Falun Gong in 1998 and benefited mentally and physically. After she became a Dafa practitioner, Ms. Ren became honest and kind and enjoyed helping others. Her customers and the other shop owners regarded her as a good person.

Because she clarified the truth about Falun Gong, Ren Shujie was arrested and illegally detained many times. On May 21, 2002, officers from the Zhonggong Police Station, under the Tiexi District Police Department in Shenyang, arrested Ren Shujie. The persecutors handcuffed her hands behind her back and slapped her face. They hit the back of her legs with large sticks and forced her to squat on the ground. Later on the persecutors sentenced her to three years of forced labor. She was detained in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp, where officials deprived her of sleep for seven consecutive nights, and policeman Tang Yubao used two electric batons and shocked her for thirty minutes.

During her detention in the forced labor camp, Ms. Ren had to do slave labor. They forced her to do extremely heavy manual labor. She began a hunger strike that lasted 64 days. In mid-June 2003 Ms. Ren told Tang Yubao to treat older practitioners kindly. Tang shocked her with an electric baton and kicked her. Ms. Ren's mouth was swollen, her eye sockets were bruised and swollen, her eyes were bloodshot, her face was disfigured, and her body was covered with bruises.

In March 22, 2004, Longshan Forced Labor Camp authorities sent Ms. Ren Shujie to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was ordered to sleep on the cold floor for three months. Ms. Ren Shujie's face became swollen, and her legs showed signs of severe edema. Each time a spot was pressed, an indentation would remain. Ms. Ren also went on a hunger strike at that time. Since Ms. Ren could not eat well, she was extremely weak at the time of her release from the labor camp on December 24, 2004. Because she still had problems with her esophagus, Ms. Ren was not able to eat normally upon returning home. She grew increasingly weaker, and passed away on September 1, 2005, and left her teenage son behind.

37-year-old Ms. Bi Daihong Died From Torture at Dalian Forced Labor Camp

Falun Dafa practitioner 37-year-old Ms. Bi Daihong, who worked at the Dalian City Ship Examination Bureau Dalian City, Liaoning Province, used to suffer from headaches and protruding spinal discs, but she became very healthy after she started practicing Dafa in 1996. When the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, she went to Beijing many times to appeal and to clarify the truth. The perpetrators ransacked her home and extorted money from her. Her work unit illegally fired her and she lost her source of income.

In January 2003, Bi Daihong was reported when clarifying the truth. Officers from the Longwangtang Police Station in Lushun arrested her. The officers held her there for one month without notifying her family. She was later sentenced to two years of forced labor and held at the Dalian Forced Labor Camp.

On her first day at the labor camp, Bi Daihong refused to take off her clothes and submit to a physical search. The guards ordered a group of eight inmates to strip her naked outside a men's restroom on the first floor. These eight inmates beat her until she was covered with wounds and bruises. Her ears and eyes were injured, and most of her face was black and blue. After striking her to the ground, inmate Zhao Hui violently ground her mouth with his feet, cutting her lips and knocking her teeth loose. They later sent her to solitary confinement to further abuse and torment her.

The torture severely injured her legs and she was crippled. Furthermore, she suffered from severe internal injuries. She started to cough, and had fever and amenorrhea. She suffered from pain so severe that she often could not sleep at night. She became weary and emaciated. The guards ignored her condition and never allowed her to see a doctor. They ordered inmates to monitor her around the clock and further restrict her freedom. She was not allowed to go to the restroom even when she was incontinent. In addition, she was forced to do slave labor picking peas. She had to carry sacks of peas, each weighing between 50 kg [110 lbs] and 100 kg [242 lbs], up and down the stairs.

Inmate Lin Chunhong, who was assigned to monitor Bi Daihong, extorted about 4,000 yuan from Bi Daihong's parents, taking advantage of their anguish by telling them that their money would speed up the release process.

Bi Daihong's family strongly urged the labor camp authorities on numerous occasions to take Bi Daihong to a hospital. The authorities reluctantly took Bi Daihong for an examination. Bi Daihong was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer and was told she had about two months left to live, at most. The labor camp authorities were afraid of taking responsibility should she die during medical treatment, so they pressed her family to follow the procedure for release from the labor camp. Bi Daihong passed away on September 1, 2005.

82-year-old Ms. He Guizhi Dies of Grief After Grandchildren Tortured to Death

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. He Guizhi was 82 years old and lived with her grandson Sun Jihong and his family. After practicing Falun Dafa since 1996, many of her ailments such as asthma, pulmonary emphysema, and bronchitis were cured. She was so happy about her life.

Starting on July 20, 1999 when the persecution of Falun Gong began, the police constantly harassed them in their home, and made Mrs. He Guizhi's health deteriorate.

Her grandson Sun Jihong used to be the Hua'nan Forestry Police Station director, but he was arrested and detained many times due to firmly believing in Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance. On September 25, 2002, Mr. Sun Jihong was arrested and detained again in the Fengtai District Police Station, Beijing. Four days later, on September 29, 2003, police tortured him to death. His body looked badly beaten, with a hole between his eyebrows and two more holes on his chin. The savage beatings left no undamaged skin on his body.

Her granddaughter-in-law Yuan Hezhen used to work for the Hua'nan County Forestry Commercial Bank as a manager. She was arrested and detained in May 2002 in Beijing. She was brutally beaten, handcuffed, and force-fed in the detention center. That damaged her health severely, and she died as a result in July 2003.

Her grandson and granddaughter-in-law were both tortured to death within one year. He Guizhi had nowhere to go for justice. She lost her eyesight and died brokenhearted on December 3, 2003.

Three out of the five members in the family died as a result of the CCP persecution. He Guizhi is survived by her 82-year-old husband and their great granddaughter, Sun Yubo.

Mr. Sun Xueren wants to sue those responsible for such a brutal killing at the Superior Court in Beijing. He tried to find a lawyer to help, but failed due to interference from the CCP. Mr. Sun wants to expose his family's tragedy internationally.

Every death case represents the brutal termination of an innocent life. Good will be rewarded and evil will meet with karmic retribution. The day that Jiang's group will pay for every single one of its debts is imminent.

Exposing the Dark Side of the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) We are the family of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Guifu. We are writing this appeal letter in a state of grave concern because we cannot accept that Liu Guifu is at this moment being tormented in a Chinese government facility because of her firm belief in Falun Gong and her unwillingness to be "transformed" and thereby manipulated to deceive other people.

At around 6:00 p.m. on February 28, 2005, police officer Wang Haipeng from the Qinglongqiao Police Station led six people from the Haidian Police Sub-Bureau and broke into our home. They searched the place and took Liu Guifu away. During the entire incident, they didn't show any identification or gave us a reason for arresting her. After not hearing any news about Liu Guifu for several months, we suddenly received notification that she had been sentenced to two and a half years in a forced labor camp. She is currently incarcerated at the Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp. This is the fifth time the 50-year-old mother has been arrested for her belief.

Influenced by many years of Communist Party culture, we used to think that many aspects of life were not so bad in China. But after what we have seen and heard, we no longer have such naïve ideas. Even so, we could not imagine law-enforcement officers breaking the law, trampling on basic human rights, and enforcing the brutal persecution against our own family. Specifically, the conduct of the police and prison authorities included the following:

1. The police from the Qinglongqiao Police Station did not show any identification or give any reason for the illegal search.

2. Xin'an Women's Labor Camp used various excuses to keep our family from visiting Liu, including not notifying the family and delaying or obstructing our visits. From February when Liu was taken away to August, only one visit was allowed. From May until August, we contacted the labor camp and repeatedly requested to visit Liu. But prison guard Song Lili, the captain of the brigade to which Liu was assigned, would not allow any visits, mail, or telephone contact with Liu. When we tried to call Song, she refused to answer the phone. Since the beginning of August, the family has requested to see Liu multiple times, but Song always finds excuses to prevent the visit, claiming that Liu's situation is special.

3. Song used lies to turn away family visits and kept the family from knowing Liu's real condition. When asked about Liu's physical condition, Song said, "She is fine except she is very stubborn and refuses to be transformed. Do not believe the information from the Web." (Websites overseas have been reporting the persecution Liu was suffering at Beijing's Women's Labor Camp.)

Around 2:30 p.m. on August 16, we were finally was able to see her. Liu was as thin as a stick, and we could hardly recognize her. She used to weight around 154 pounds and now she looked less than 110 pounds. Her hair had turned gray. She moved slowly, as if she had aged over twenty years since her arrest. It was not hard to imagine what kind of inhumane treatment she had suffered. Liu's husband Liu Baoguo asked the prison guard how she had become so skinny. The guard told him that she was under pressure and could not eat well.

4. Liu was tortured with the following methods: (1) Sleep deprivation. (2) Forced to sit or stand in one position for over 20 hours. (3) Forced to take unknown medications. (4) Being viciously beaten and made to suffer mental torture.

Liu's husband accidentally found a brownish bruise on her right arm. On the inside of her right arm, there were also several bruises. Liu's husband kept asking her what had happened. At first, Liu was afraid to tell him because the guards were threatening her, and later she reluctantly said she was beaten. Prison guard Song Lili pretended ignorance, "Who beat you? How come I don't know about it?" Liu said several inmates including one called Zhou Hong stuffed her mouth with a cleaning rag and beat her. Another guard sitting next to her immediately stopped Liu from continuing and yelled at her, "What did we say just now? Why bring up old stuff?"

Liu's husband asked her, "What happened to you in the last three or four months? How come you are so thin?" Liu said, "I was not allowed to sleep. Everyday I was forced to stand. At first, I could rest between midnight and 4 o'clock in the morning. Later I could only rest between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. I was forced to take a kind of medicine in a capsule. I would vomit after I took it."

Liu's husband repeatedly asked guard Song Lili, "She is not sick. What kind of medicine did you give her?" Song replied, "It is not poison. It is for adjusting the nervous system. It helps her to sleep better." Liu's husband told her, "You are a police officer. You are supposed to protect people. How can you treat others like this?" Song kept saying it was not poison. But they kept a person from sleeping, then gave the person medicine to help her to sleep. What kind of logic was that?

Under Liu's husband's repeat questioning, Liu told him that she was forced to sit on a stool for a month. The flesh on her buttocks festered and had formed a scab.

During the twenty-minute visit, whenever Liu started to talk about the persecution she suffered, Song would stop her. As a result, Liu talked to her family for less than ten minutes.

5. Liu was threatened to not disclose the facts of her torture. We found out that before our visit, the police threatened Liu not to tell us the facts. They coerced her to agree not to reveal the facts of her persecution. We are now worried that the police may retaliate because Liu has revealed the facts.

6. The police attempted to provoke family friction by having a family member apply pressure on Liu. Police Song Lili told Liu's husband, "You cannot just visit. You need to apply some pressure on her. Tell her that you will divorce her if she refuses to transform." Song also asked Liu's husband if Liu had any weakness. Such despicable acts from the police!

As Liu's family, we cannot help but worry about her situation and fear the worst. This is the second time Liu has been tortured in this labor camp. From the outside, this labor camp looks like a modern garden, but who really knows what happens inside? Let us look at the experience Liu had the first time she was incarcerated there.

According to Liu Guifu, she was once forced to stand for 18 days and night straight without sleep. Her ankles swelled as big as her thighs. She used to wear shoe size 23.5, but at the end, she could not even wear size 40. When she tried to put her shoes on, the skin on her feet burst open and blood began to ooze out. During the 18 days she was forced to stand, she was so tired that she fell to the ground. Her face was covered with blood, but she could not wake up. So the police poured buckets of cold water on her. The police captain believed that Liu could only last so long without giving up because someone was helping her. So the police moved her to the police office and had her stand there for another six days and nights. She was not allowed to squat down even when eating her meals. Later, when the police saw that Liu still refused to transform, they forced her to squat down with her arms extended backward. She was forced to hold this position for the whole night. Another time, Liu was beaten so badly that she could not stand up straight. She had to crawl to the bathroom. Every time the police beat her, they would take her outside where nobody could see or hear her. The police would use electric batons to shock her or beat her themselves.

From the experience of our own family, it is clear that no law is being followed when it comes to persecuting Falun Gong. We cannot find any place to appeal for Liu. We can only believe there are still some people in the government who care for the people and are willing to put justice and morality ahead of everything else. We ask them to help our family and stop the labor camp from breaking the law and deceiving the families of the practitioners.

Liu's daughter, Meng Xiangji, is a student at Purdue University in the U.S. She has written articles in an effort to rescue her mother. Those articles have been published in several large Chinese media overseas and have drawn attention from the international community.

In this appeal, we make the following requests:

Investigate the details of torture Liu has suffered at the labor camp. Bring criminal charges against police officer Song Lili.

With regard to family, communication, and visits, the labor camp should cease making any excuses, such as not notifying us, and delaying or obstructing our visits. Guarantee the legal rights of the family.

Because Liu's health is extremely bad, because her husband has been sick for a long time, and because her elderly mother has no one to take care of her, Liu Guifu should be released immediately and given her freedom.

Details of the Torture and Abuse of Ms. Ren Shujie, Who Died from the Persecution (Explicit Photos)

Ms. Ren Shujie was a Falun Gong practitioner from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Because she was determined to practice Falun Gong, she was illegally detained in Longshan Forced Labor Camp and Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for three years and suffered many types of inhuman torture. She was not released until December 24, 2004 when she was extremely frail. Because her esophagus was congested, everything she ate was regurgitated along with a discharge from her esophagus. In addition, the regurgitation caused the upper esophagus to become swollen and press against her throat. In the end, many purple marks appeared on her body. Her lower legs turned purple. This condition continued until she was literally starved to death. Ms. Ren died on September 1, 2005, leaving her teenage son behind.

Shortly before her death, Ren Shujie was emaciated and barely breathing

Ms. Ren Shujie died at the age of 42. She lived in the Tiexi District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She owned an apparel boutique in Donghu Market, Yuhong District. After she started practicing Falun Gong, both her health and moral character improved. She became enthusiastic in helping others. Her clients and fellow storeowners in the area regarded her as a wonderful person. On May 21, 2002, policemen from Tiexi District Public Security Bureau in Shenyang City and Tiexi District Zhonggong Police Station, including Liu Qing, Yu Yongbin and other policemen, arrested Ms. Ren because of her practice of Falun Gong and illegally sentenced her to three years in Longshan Forced Labor Camp under the watch of its No. 2 Division.

Once she was there, Ms. Ren Shujie went on a hunger strike for as long as 64 days to protest the illegal detention. During the process, her health was severely compromised. After she had been on the hunger strike for just 15 days, the captain of the No. 2 Division Ms. Tang Yubao started to subject Ms. Ren to brainwashing and torture despite Ms. Ren's weak physical condition. The torturers once deprived Ms. Ren of sleep for seven days and seven nights. Once when Ms. Ren tried to go to bed at the camp's normal bedtime, Tang Yubao tortured her with two electric batons for 30 minutes. There were other division leaders at the scene, including Liang Hong and Ma Wei. Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Gong Huijie, Ms. Sun Ying and Ms. Sun Baoju were also at the scene and witnessed Tang Yubao's crime. Because Ms. Ren Shujie refused to compromise her belief in Falun Gong, Tang Yubao flew into a rage and threatened her, "If you refuse to renounce Falun Gong, I will transfer you to Dabei Prison after the 16th Assembly of the National People's Congress."

Besides forced brainwashing, Longshan Forced Labor Camp also subjects Falun Gong practitioners to slave labor every day. Practitioners are forced to make candles for export from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The workroom is located on the second floor. Every day practitioners have to carry box after box of wax between the first and the second floor, which takes a severe toll on their backs. On February 4, 2003, Ms. Ren Shujie, Ms. Sun Yan and Ms. Su Weihuan started a group hunger strike to protest the inhumane slave labor. Nevertheless, policewoman Tang Yubao continued to subject them to slave labor. She also threatened them, "Don't you dare stop working."

Facing the harsh persecution, Ms. Ren Shujie escalated her protest by swallowing a foreign object on the fifth day of her persecution. [Note: China's persecution of Falun Gong is atrocious, but it is wrong for a cultivator to deliberately injure her own body as a way of protest. A Falun Gong practitioner must not do so, for it directly violates Falun Gong's cultivation principles. Only truly righteous thoughts and actions will prevail over and disintegrate the persecution.] Two days later, the prison guards felt guilty and feared that she might actually die, so they finally brought Ms. Ren Shujie to Shenyang College of Medicine's No. 2 Hospital, but the hospital refused to admit her. Then Tang Yubao, Division Leader Wang Chunmei and Division Leader Liang Zhen brought her to the Shenyang City Army General Hospital. According to the hospital's diagnosis, Ms. Ren's esophagus was ruptured and the rupture had festered because it was not treated immediately. The physician removed the foreign object and set up a temporary web inside the esophagus to keep the esophagus open. He told the prison guards to bring her back to the hospital within eight days and have the web removed. But the prison guards purposely delayed the return visit to the hospital. They waited for a few days before they brought her back. The physician told them that, because of the delay, the temporary web had now become part of the esophagus and could no longer be removed. He added that she could only have fluids for the rest of her life.

Since then, Ms. Ren Shujie was unable to eat normally. Her health got worse each day, but she continued to suffer from imprisonment. In mid-June 2003, a disabled elderly Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Huang Shixiang, told Tang Yubao that they must remove the photograph of the founder of Falun Gong from the ground [placed there by the labor camp authorities as a provocative sign of disrespect], but Tang Yubao beat her and attacked her with an electric baton. When Ren Shujie told Tang Yubao that she should treat elderly practitioners with kindness, Tang Yubao also attacked her with an electric baton and subjected her to beating and kicking. Ren Shujie's face became swollen and tilted to one side. Her eyes were swollen and bruised, and bled. Her body was covered with many bruises and injuries.

On March 22, 2004, Longshan Forced Labor Camp transferred Ren Shujie to the No. 3 Division at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was forced to sleep on a cold floor for as long as three months. Ren Shujie's face was swollen. Her legs also became very swollen and lost flexibility. Ren Shujie once went on a hunger strike to protest. By the time she was released on December 24, 2004, Ren Shujie had become extremely weak because she hadn't been able to eat normally for a very long time.

By now her esophagus had contracted and, thus, compressed the web. The web could no longer keep her esophagus open. Instead, the esophagus was blocked because of the web. Everything Ms. Ren ate was regurgitated along with a discharge from her esophagus. In addition, the regurgitation caused the upper esophagus to become swollen and press against her throat. In the end, she lost the ability to speak. Many purple marks appeared on her body. Her lower legs turned dark. Ms. Ren literally starved to death on September 1, 2005. Her eyes were wide open when she died. She left a teenage son behind, who lost his mother forever.

Former president Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party have resorted to many atrocious means to torture and murder innocent Falun Gong practitioners and tear apart countless families. This is China's true human rights situation under the Chinese Communist Party's rule! Frenzied Arrests of Dafa Disciples Took Place in Qingdao City Just Before the October 1 National Day

(Clearwisdom.net) The Qingdao Police started an intensive manhunt of Falun Gong practitioners on September 26, 2005, in anticipation of the upcoming National Day on October 1. So far, practitioners known to have been illegally arrested and detained are as follows:

Ms. Cui Weirui, from the Shibei District and approximately 56 years old, was arrested from her home in the early morning hours of September 20, 2005. The police also ransacked her home. She is now imprisoned and being forced to attend the 610 Office brainwashing class in Qingdao City.

Ms. Xu Guihua, about 58, is from the Shibei District. She was deceived into leaving her home and later arrested and sent to the Qingdao Prison, where she is forced to attend the 610 brainwashing class.

Ms. Lin, around 60, was arrested by 610 officials and forced to attend the brainwashing class.

Mr. Zhan Guangmin, approximately 65, was employed at the Institute of Agriculture and resided in the vicinity of a normal school in the Licang District. Mr. Zhan was arrested on the afternoon of September 21, together with Mr. Hou, a resident of Jian'an Community in the Licang District. The two are presently imprisoned in the Chengqu Police Station located on the Western Hill of Li Village.

Ms. Ou Yunjie of the Shibei District, who is about 27 years old, was arrested from her home at approximately 8 p.m. on September 21, 2005, together with her mother Ms. Liu. Police ransacked her home and her business, which is a clothing store. The police also took 10,000 yuan in cash that she used to operate her business.

Mr. Wang Donglin, approximately 30, worked at the Haixin Limited Corporation and lived in a rental unit in the Sifang District. He was arrested on September 21, and the police ransacked his home.

Ms. Cui Luning, 33, was employed at the Qingdao City Sodium Silicate Factory. She lived in the company's quarters in Li Cangqu. On September 22, she was arrested and her residence was ransacked by police. She is currently being illegally detained in the Dashan Detention Center of Qingdao City. On the evening of September 21, at around 11 p.m., a man with glasses knocked vigorously on her door to find out if she was home. When there was no response, he knocked on the next-door-neighbor's door to investigate why Ms. Cui was not home. On September 22, a man initiated an inquiry on the phone, trying to make contact with everyone that had made calls to Ms. Cui. He also lied by making up a story that Ms. Cui needed to attend to an urgent matter at home. This is an indication that Ms. Cui Luning's home was already under surveillance by the police.

Mr. Sun Hong, 33, was working at the Qingdao City Textile Hospital and resided in Xiaoweng Village in the Licang District. He and his 32-year-old wife, Min Huirong, were both arrested.

Numerous other practitioners have also been arrested. The details of their whereabouts are still under investigation.

Prior to the incidents above, the Qingdao Police had arrested more than 20 other practitioners who had "enlightened" along the evil path. Many other practitioners were also arrested in the vicinity. According to news leaked from the Residential Committee, the police had previously "reformed" these practitioners. They are now assisting the police in persecuting genuine practitioners and helping the authorities to brainwash others. We are calling on all Dafa disciples in Qingdao and the surrounding area to send forth righteous thoughts intensively on the hour at this critical time to thoroughly eliminate the evil elements, the dark minions, all elements of the communist evil spirit, and all other factors responsible in order to thoroughly eradicate this evil persecution immediately and completely.

Dadong District Court of Shenyang City Put a Good Person in Jail

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of September 20, 2005, Dafa practitioners Wang Jinping and Bai Min were put on trial in Dadong District Court of Shenyang City, and sentenced to eight and four years in prison, respectively.

Mrs. Wang, 43, who lives on Gongnong Rd., Dadong District, Shenyang City, is a very nice and talented lady. She has aged parents, is respectful of her elders, and has a son who is facing an upcoming college entrance examination. Both Mrs. Wang and her husband were laid off and were getting by on temporary work. Even though their lives were not of material wealth, they were happy and content.

Her tranquil life changed, however, after July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime launched a political campaign to eradicate Falun Gong practitioners. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong but was arrested before she even entered the Government Appeals Office in the name of "disturbing social order." It is said that over ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners from Shenyang City were arrested in 1999 on the same trumped up charge.

On the eve of the 2001 Spring Festival, Mrs. Wang's husband was sentenced to two years forced labor for delivering an article written by the founder of Falun Gong. Her husband finally returned home at the end of 2002 after enduring countless hardships. However, after the family reunited just for a while, Mrs. Wang was arrested again on April 6, 2005, in a Dafa materials production site by the local 610 Office and policemen from Dongzhan Police Station.

On the morning of September 20, 2005, Mrs. Wang Jinping and Bai Min were on trial in the Minors Courthouse, Dadong District Court of Shenyang City, and were illegally sentenced to eight and four years of prison respectively, for "disturbing social order and endangering national security." During the trial process, there was no defense attorney and no chance for them to defend themselves. The verdict was pushed through as if it was part of a mechanized process.

United Nations Commission on Human Rights Report States That the Chinese Communist Party Interferes with the Judicial System to Persecute Falun Gong (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net, October 7, 2005) On August 27, 2004, Mr. Leandro Despouy, Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, sent an allegation letter concerning the situation of Wei Jun, an attorney from the Baicheng law firm in Baise city, Guangxi province, who had allegedly been threatened and harassed for defending Liang Changying, a Falun Gong practitioner.

Attorney Wei was threatened and harassed for defending practitioner Liang Changying. Ms. Liang was sentenced to 5 ½ years in prison. After the court adjourned, the public prosecutor allegedly asked about the existence of a regulation stating that lawyers cannot defend Falun Gong practitioners who plead "not guilty". The same day Mr. Wei's home phone, cell phone and office phone were put under surveillance, and several days later police officers asked the Judiciary Bureau to suspend Mr. Wei's license to practice law and to sentence him to three years of forced labor. After the director of the Judiciary Bureau refused their request, the police reportedly warned Mr. Wei that in the future he would not be allowed to defend Falun Gong practitioners, and confiscated all of his materials regarding Ms. Liang's case.

On October 15, 2004 the Special Rapporteur sent a joint urgent appeal with the Special

Rapporteur on the question of torture, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, the Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, the Special Rapporteur on the right to everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions and the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, to express their concern at reports of systemic repression against the Falun Gong.

Over the past five years, hundreds of cases of alleged violations of the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners have been brought to the attention of the Special Rapporteurs. Many of these allegations have been reported back to the Chinese authorities and are reflected in reports of the Special Rapporteurs to the Commission on Human Rights. The Special Rapporteurs are concerned that reports of arrest, detention, ill-treatment, torture, denial of adequate medical treatment, sexual violence, deaths, and unfair trial of Falun Gong practitioners are increasing. They expressed concern that these allegations may reflect a deliberate and institutionalized policy by the authorities to target specific groups such as the Falun Gong.

An analysis of reports indicates that the alleged human rights violations against Falun Gong practitioners, including systematic arrest and detention, are part of a pattern of repression against members of this group. Most of those arrested are reportedly heavily fined and released, but many are detained and ill treated in order to force them to formally renounce Falun Gong. Those who refuse are sent to re-education through labor camps, where torture is reportedly used routinely and in many cases has resulted in death. When charges are laid they reportedly include allegations such as "disturbing social order", "assembling to disrupt public order", "stealing or leaking State secrets", or "using a heretical organization to undermine the law."

According to the information received, those prosecuted have been unfairly tried and many have received lengthy prison sentences. In this respect it is reported that on 5 November 1999, a notice issued by the Supreme People's Court instructed all local courts to do their "'political duty"' in bringing to trial and punishing "severely" those charged with "organization crimes", "particularly Falun Gong", and to handle these cases "under the leadership of the Party committees".

Australia: Young Practitioners Begin Car Tour to Clarify the Truth and Rescue Orphaned Practitioners in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, October 6, 2005) To rescue Falun Gong children being persecuted in China, a group of students ranging in age from 5 to 19 held a four-day car tour during school break. Before the tour, the students held a press conference in front of the Chinese Consulate in Sydney on October 4, 2005. The tour is scheduled to stop at 8 cities to help local media and government organizations know the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong in China and call for attention from Australian society to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

During the press conference, some representatives of the car tour narrated their experience in the cultivation of Falun Gong to the media and public, and exposed the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the difficult lives of child practitioners due to the persecution.

He Yi, 15 years old, He Xu, 13 years old, and He Yue, 11 years old, are from the same family. They said in their speeches, "In China, the Falun Gong children are of similar ages as us. Some are even younger. We can imagine their suffering and think we have the obligation to help them study normally and practice freely. At the same time, we hope they can live free and happy lives like us."

Yan Wanying, a 16-year-old girl, said that she had practiced Falun Gong since she was seven. She followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good student at school and a good child at home. She had a happy life. However, since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of Falun Gong, her whole family has been on the Chinese Consulate's blacklist and cannot return to China. In China, she has many relatives, including an aunt who was unlawfully sentenced to 3 years at a forced labor camp. Her grandmother was persecuted too and later became a refugee in Australia. She said she would like to help more Australian people learn about the brutality of the persecution and help those orphaned Falun Gong children.

The youngest child in the car tour is 5-year-old Fadu. Her father, Chen Chongyong, was tortured to death when she was one year old.

Xu Yang, 17 years old, one of the organizers, said that as a result of the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, over the past six years, more than 2700 practitioners are known to have lost their lives, leaving behind innocent children of all ages who are now orphaned or semi-orphaned. No welfare system exists for these children and their lives are in jeopardy every day.

Xu Yang said, "We can speak for them in Australia and help them. We want to help people understand how much the children are suffering. Because of the CCP's cover up, Australians do not know the brutality of the persecution. Thus we'd like to speak out clearly so that more people will know the facts and help the children by stopping the persecution."

Lisa, the driver and caretaker of the young practitioners in the tour, said that there were two vehicles for the tour. Ten young practitioners participated with their own money or funds from their parents. Some children contributed their allowance money. She further said that the tour would be difficult in some areas, but the children were prepared. They hoped through their own efforts to help rescue the orphaned Falun Gong children in China.

During the exhibition, a "Call to Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party" signature campaign was carried out and received positive response from the visitors.

One visitor said: "I agree that the human rights situation in China is very bad. I am a businessman and I know that everything is carefully arranged by CCP to cover it up. However, they can't hide the reality of the worst human rights abuses. I of course support your human rights appeal." He was very happy to sign the petition.

A mother came with her young daughter. After viewing the exhibition, the mother said: "I told my daughter that the reason a government has used such brutal torture methods against its citizens is that it wants to cover up its dark side. Otherwise, civilians have no reason to be deprived of freedom of speech. This exhibition will help my daughter to improve her ability to judge what is good and what is bad." The mother also signed the petition.

After hearing a staff member say that signature campaigns to stop the persecution have been held worldwide, he asked: "Do we have one here?" When he was shown to the petition table, he signed his name right away.

After having heard an introduction of Falun Gong, a lady said: "I want to practice, how much do I need to pay?" When she was told that practitioners always teach the exercises for free, she was even more touched and said that it was a miracle in this modern age that an upright practice with no charge is still available.

When the Falun Gong Exercises Instruction Video was playing, a gentleman was drawn by the sight of Master Li teaching the exercises, and he watched the tape for several hours. He said that it was the Master Buddha who was teaching the exercises. He learned the exercises at the exhibition site. A staff member at the exhibition said that many people were coming to learn Falun Gong.

At the stairway entrance, several staff members were distributing Falun Gong materials. They said that many people who accepted the materials came back later from the exhibition site to tell them how much they had looked forward to learning Falun Gong.

Virginia, USA: Elegant Chinese Culture Displayed at Neptune Festival in Virginia Beach (Photos)

More than one hundred groups participated in this event, and it was the third time that practitioners had participated. They brought to the local people the peaceful Falun Gong exercises, graceful celestial maiden dance and unique waist drum performance. With "Falun Dafa is Good" music playing all the way along the parade route, practitioners performed the programs continuously. Wherever they went, they received warm applause from the audience. Many spectators were drawn by the exercise demonstrations and started reading the Falun Gong pamphlet immediately upon receiving it.

Sweden: Falun Gong Participates in Uppsala Health Fair (Photos)

As it is a genuine cultivation method that has helped an innumerable amount of people back to health and harmony of mind and spirit, Falun Gong was invited to participate in the health fair. The practitioners had unlimited access to the stage and continuously demonstrated the graceful and revitalizing exercises. Many people came to watch and just before the fair closed, the organizer came to personally thank the practitioners for being there. She said that the beautiful exercise demonstration on the stage had been an important contribution to the peaceful and harmonious atmosphere at the fair.

The people of Uppsala knew about the brutal persecution in China from previous news coverage. Through this health fair, they also came to understand the beauty of the practice, and many people expressed their wish to learn Falun Gong.

Stepping Forward to Clarify the Truth is an Essential Step in Fa-Rectification Cultivation

(Clearwisdom.net) Some practitioners still feel confused or find it difficult to "step forward" to clarify the truth to people. It's hard for them to regard truth-clarifying as an important matter in their daily cultivation. It's even harder for them to clarify the truth to colleagues, neighbors and strangers. However, it's actually not that hard if you know how. "Stepping forward" does not mean that one has to go out on the street everyday to tell strangers about Dafa. Instead, it means to "step out" from the confinement of human attachments and truly keep one's mind on Fa-rectification cultivation.

When a Dafa practitioner keeps his mind on saving sentient beings, opportunities often come unexpectedly. People even come to ask you questions or raise issues that easily lead to clarifying the truth. There is no rigid rule on how much you should talk or what you should say. Instead, you just talk to as many people as you can and do your best to be considerate of them. Skills come from practice. Every time you talk to people, you accumulate experience, lessons and material for the next time. It also provides a good opportunity for you to improve your cultivation, temper your will, and expand your wisdom.

Dafa cultivation is different from any other cultivation way or discipline in history. Cultivation improves one's character. If a conflict doesn't stir you up, then it doesn't count, especially in Fa-rectification cultivation. In the process of clarifying the truth to people who don't understand the truth, are misled by the evil party and refuse to listen to the truth, we not only provide life buoys to them, we give ourselves the opportunity to climb the heavenly ladder to elevate ourselves.

The requirements of Dafa cultivation are completely different from those of any cultivation ways of the past. A cultivator must follow the requirements of the specific discipline he cultivates. He cannot successfully cultivate unless he does so. Now that we are cultivating Falun Dafa, we surely cannot cultivate based upon our assumptions and understandings about cultivation ways in the past. We must follow the requirements of Dafa cultivation. Teacher has repeatedly told us to let go of human attachments and to clarify the truth to people, i.e., to do the three things well. These are the requirements of Fa-rectification cultivation.

Fa-rectification cultivation requires every practitioner to do every one of the three things well, that is, to study the Fa and cultivate one's character, to send righteous thoughts, and to clarify the truth. These are very high requirements. However, it doesn't mean that they are too high to attain.

I believe that those practitioners who find it hard to step forward are capable of doing it if they truly want to cultivate. Here is why. You have decided to cultivate Dafa, and Teacher has made it very clear that clarifying the truth is an essential path to doing so. We should let go of our human attachments and our attachments to past cultivation disciplines, and do what Teacher has told us to do. Learning while doing is most effective. Cultivation and returning to our true selves are most important, and one of the most important things we are supposed to do in Dafa cultivation is to clarify the truth. Then, as Dafa practitioners, how can we not regard clarifying the truth as an essential part of our daily lives? As long as we go ahead and talk to people, we will naturally expand our audience. The more we talk to others, the better skills we will have. The more we talk to others, the richer and more valuable we will feel about our lives.

If a person always tries to figure out how to swim while standing on the shore and doesn't get into the water to practice swimming, he will never learn how to swim and never experience the freedom and joy of swimming. He can never swim to the beautiful "shore on the other side." Fa-rectification cultivation has not ended yet. Everyone still has the opportunity. Opportunity knocks but once, so let us seize the time to step forward to clarify truth to people!

Enlightening to the Fa's Principles Step by Step (Part One)

(Clearwisdom.net) During Fa-rectification and cultivation, I have more deeply realized the principles of the Fa and raised my level. Sometimes I used Master's principles to break through disturbances and obstacles. The following includes several stories to share my thoughts with fellow practitioners. They help to show that no matter how difficult something seems, as long as we follow Master's Fa, it will be resolved well. In fact, when we are basing our thoughts and actions on the Fa, everything will happen correctly. Within Dafa's easy-to-understand language, there are boundless miracles. Master uses the simplest modern language to explain all aspects of the human world and cultivation principles. Therefore, as we study and act according to Master's teachings, we will find that our questions will be resolved and our goals achieved.

Neighbor's Disturbances at Night

In 2002, I rarely saw my next-door neighbors. Only at night, I could sometimes hear their door close. I always tried to find an opportunity to clarify the truth to them. But I never got a chance to do so--due to the attachment of fear, my wisdom was limited. One night at around 11:30 p.m., I was doing the meditation exercise and heard the door open and close very loudly, and they were shouting. This went on for three straight nights. I felt disturbed by it, but I calmed down and thought about what Master said:

"Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference" in 2002)

The next day, I put a truth-clarification flyer on their door. Starting that same day, there was no longer any disruption at night.

Since then, there have been many similar situations. But each time something interferes, I clarify the truth and it gets resolved right away.

Silently Accepting Interference

Because there have been more and more occasions like the one above, I gradually developed a thought in my mind: the beings who want to be saved would come to bother you. With this thought, lots of trouble came to me. Once at work, my client frequently asked me to do something I didn't have to do before. At that time, I thought this was a "necessary" reflection of people who haven't been saved yet. Master says in "Expounding on the Fa" in Essentials for Further Advancement:

"You should also be clear that 'natural' does not exist, and 'the inevitable' has reasons behind it."

I silently accepted that they were allowed to interfere with me. As a result, it affected normal things that I was supposed to do. Fellow practitioners reminded me that even for those people who haven't been saved, they should still not interfere. We can save them, but interference is absolutely not allowed. With this thought, those troubles went away.

My silent acceptance of the interference allowed the old forces to further interfere with me, as they will jump on any opportunity to create problems for Fa-rectification.

The Death of a Chick

My child bought three little chickens. Several days later, at dinner, my child said, "I don't like the smaller one. I don't want it any more." After dinner, the previously lively little chicken started shaking all of a sudden and couldn't stand still. It died that night. My child was very sad and said, "It was me who didn't take care of that little one..."

This episode caused me to think about my own actions. I realized that sometimes with those who didn't want to listen to or look at the truth, I often thought: "That person is not savable." But as Master said:

"You can't just have compassion for those who read the materials, and have no compassion for those who don't--you can't do that (laughs). In saving people, you have to be patient, and that's Dafa disciples' compassion." ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference," 2003)

We are representatives for countless sentient beings, and they are depending on us for their futures. We need to handle our interaction with every being patiently and kindly, and not give up on them. Master told us,

"That's because your every thought and whim, and each and every action, are affecting major things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference")

The Door in the Human World versus the Righteous Thoughts of a God

Once I heard some strange noises outside my door. I thought it was the noise of a policeman snooping around. I started panicking and thought: "My door can block them..." Later, in other similar situations, I always thought that way. One day I suddenly realized that this was ridiculous. How could a door block the evil? There is no door that can't be opened in this world. Anything in the human world can be overcome. This is the principle of "Mutual-Generation and Mutual-Inhibition" in this world. Another example is that I sometimes think: "If there is any danger, I can run..." "In front of any instruments of torture, it would depend on your willpower..." From the viewpoint of a human being, no matter how fast you run, you can't be faster than cars. No matter how strong your will is, there is a limit. If you use human principles, they will yield human results. If you only focus on how to escape from the old forces, they'll make use of those attachments to trap you.

We should have divine, righteous thoughts. They are the weapons for truly defeating the evil because they are beyond this dimension and cannot be defeated by human beings.

Master said in "Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference" (in 2005):

"If upon encountering trying circumstances your thinking can be truly righteous, then, when faced with the evil's persecution and when faced with interference, just one sentence of yours fortified with steadfast righteous thoughts can instantly make the evil disintegrate (applause), and it will make those who are being used by the evil turn and flee, it will make the evil's persecution of you dissolve, and it will make the evil's interfering with you disappear without a trace. One thought born of righteous faith is all it takes. And whoever can hold firm that righteous thought and go the distance will become a magnificent god forged by Dafa."

Digging deeply in my heart, I found that there was still some remaining fear of the evil Communist specter that was affecting me. I still thought of the spirit as an abstract concept, rather than a material thing that can have big impacts. This is a big reason that lots of our fellow practitioners can't keep their strong righteous thoughts. I was finally able to overcome this attachment and understand the nature of righteous thoughts better.

Master taught us in "Stop the Evil Acts with Righteous Thoughts:"

"You can do it with or without your palm erected--it works as soon as your righteous thoughts emerge."

Which one should we rely on, the door or righteous thoughts? When I better understood the principles of the Fa, I suddenly felt that my righteous thoughts became stronger.

Separation

Fellow practitioner A suddenly felt pain in her knee and had difficulty crossing her legs in meditation. Fellow practitioner B suggested that she send forth righteous thoughts. After a while, B asked A: "How do you feel?" "It still hurts," she replied. "Maybe you can send forth righteous thoughts more frequently..." Later B met A and A still had the same pain. B asked A: "Is there any problem with your xinxing?" A was puzzled. On B's way home, B suddenly realized: "Why did I encounter this? Why did I view this only as her problem? Why didn't I send forth righteous thoughts with her? We Dafa practitioners are one body. Why did I have the attitude of a spectator?" After this thought emerged, the next morning when B met A, A's knee had totally recovered.

I realized that when we use human logic to divide up "my problems and your problems", when in our minds, we still have the thought of "helping somebody send forth righteous thoughts," we are creating a gap among us. This gap is caused by all kinds of obstacles formed by human notions. The reflection might be just a difference in one thought. Of course, this also highlights the fact that our one thought is a critical factor in determining any outcome because it is a divine thought.

The idea of "hers, yours and mine" leads to divisions and problems, and it should not exist over the course of Fa-rectification cultivation. Only then can we truly become one body.

More Thoughts about the "One Body"

One morning a fellow practitioner was arrested by the evil. Fellow practitioner Jia and some other practitioners had a discussion shortly after they got the news. At the beginning, most practitioners thought that the arrested practitioner must have had attachments that were taken advantage of. So they started discussing what the issue was.

Practitioner Jia helped everybody gradually change their viewpoints. Later everybody agreed that even though the practitioner had problems, the persecution still should not exist. Our Master arranges our path. No other beings have the right to interfere. So everybody sent forth righteous thoughts at the same time from noon to night. They felt the field of righteous thoughts grow stronger and stronger.

In the meantime, the arrested practitioner had a strong attachment of fear in the morning, and the evil was very aggressive and threatened to sentence him. He didn't know what was going to happen. But at around noon, he felt that the field of the righteous thoughts was very strong around him. The attachment of fear decreased and the righteous thoughts grew stronger. When the evening came, he was very calm. He said to Master in his heart: "I can't stay here." He was soon released and the evil was no longer as aggressive as it was in the morning.

When he returned home and shared his experience, he realized that Dafa practitioners are indeed one body. Although we have distance among us in the human world, in other dimensions all practitioners are in one field. When Dafa practitioners are sharing experiences, sending forth righteous thoughts, and improving as one body, we are eliminating the evil in our common field. As Master taught us, we should seek

Learning from the Fa versus Learning from Other Practitioners

The above-mentioned practitioner Jia had strong righteous thoughts in many areas and often helped other practitioners to break away from their states of being in tribulation. Therefore, lots of practitioners came to her to discuss the principles of the Fa.

Not too long after the above-mentioned arrest, practitioner Jia was arrested when she was clarifying the truth and distributing flyers. Lots of the practitioners were puzzled: "Practitioner Jia always did this and did it well. She has strong righteous thoughts and didn't have any obvious attachments. Why was she arrested?"

Although puzzled, the practitioners were still actively involved in the rescue efforts. They sent forth righteous thoughts, looked for lawyers, sent flyers and used the Internet to expose the evil. Later practitioner Jia walked out of the police station with dignity. After she returned, she shared her thoughts with the fellow practitioners: "With the 'encouragement' of fellow practitioners, I started getting a show-off mentality and the attachment of zealotry. But this was not the most important thing. The most important issue was that fellow practitioners had attachments towards me. Everybody thought I understood the Fa well. So lots of the practitioners viewed me as a model and even used my viewpoints as their understanding of the Fa." Many practitioners did the same thing. Therefore, we had a gap in our one body. This was a huge lesson for us!

"Remember this--some of our students have done well, but she is still cultivating. So if we do those things, won't it lead students to form new attachments? And won't it make the students a little too pleased with themselves? So I think you still need to be careful. Yes, when a student has cultivated well in some regard, we should learn from him. But the student is still cultivating and still has human attachments that haven't been removed yet, so you still need to use the Fa as your standard... Whenever a person cultivates well in some regard, that's because she has cultivated well in the Fa, not because she is better than the Fa. So if you follow somebody's example instead of learning from the Fa... [remember that] before the person has finished her cultivation she still has flaws, and when she's good in one regard it doesn't mean she's good in every regard. Now it's really happened, you've triggered the student's attachment. Be careful with this type of thing." ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students" in 2004)

"There used to be some students who would often say, 'So-and-so at our practice site has done so well! We'll do whatever he does.' Let me tell all of you that you absolutely must not do that and absolutely must not think that way. Cultivators can't take other human beings as their role models. They must take the Fa as the teacher! (Applause) As soon as you start doing things [like I described] and thinking in that way, two problems will surface. One is that you will likely push that student to a place where there is no way out for him. And it's likely the old forces will lead him to have problems and even make him leave us early in order to test other students. [They'll think,] "You're all looking to him. With things like this, are you still going to study, and are you still going to cultivate?" Under circumstances like this, there are really some students who think, "If even he couldn't make it, will I be able to?" They waver. Isn't that the old forces taking advantage of gaps? [In that situation] even I, your master, can't say anything! The old forces say, "Take a look. See how that test ended up? What we did was right, wasn't it?" So when the righteous thoughts are not strong, people's minds waver. You absolutely must be on guard against that! You should take the Fa as the teacher. You can't look at how well a certain individual has cultivated and as a result learn from that person instead of the Fa." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York")

With regard to experience-sharing among fellow practitioners, I think it's very necessary and important. However, we can't over-emphasize it because we have the Fa and we have our Master. Our experience-sharing is arranged by our Master, as well. These things can only be attained through predestination.

Disintegration of the Party's Conference to "Maintain the Advanced Nature of the CCP Members" as Falun Dafa Practitioners Send Forth Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Communist Party has initiated a movement to "maintain the advanced nature" of its members to keep itself from being completely eliminated. In the first half of this year, an army organization held a conference just for that purpose. They wouldn't even excuse old officials who had retired many years ago. They demanded that nobody be absent, be late or leave early. Even those who were visiting, traveling or working out of town had to be called back.

The first morning, most of the old officials showed up at the conference voicing their dissatisfaction, complaining or even cursing. As practitioners, meanwhile, several of us decided to take advantage of this gathering of evil elements in other dimensions to send forth righteous thoughts and focus on clearing away the evil. About 20 practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts every hour together.

After everyone's coordinated efforts, the result was obvious. The evil field appeared to weaken, and the control by evil factors and the communist spirit over those old officials was greatly reduced. The same afternoon, many of the retired officials didn't show up at the conference. Later, fewer and fewer officials were present, despite the mandatory attendance requirement. The next afternoon, out of the one hundred or so retired officials, only a few showed up.

This made the party leaders quite angry. They required the retired officials to make it up later. However, there was little cooperation and the makeup conference had to end hastily.

The CCP's conference gathered for three days, so the Falun Dafa practitioners also sent forth righteous thoughts for three days. By sending forth righteous thoughts like this for three days, we saw clearly that our group cooperation and united righteous thoughts and actions have great power and effect.

Wherever There Are Problems, We Should Eliminate the Evil

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, we have heard continuously about many fellow practitioners being arrested in Harbin and Daqing of Heilongjiang Province, Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province, and other locations. At this critical moment of Falun Dafa practitioners validating the Fa and saving sentient beings, we absolutely should not allow the remaining evil to remain rampant.

As the evil is arresting fellow practitioners, besides studying the Fa well and looking inward to find our own attachments and omissions, I believe it provides opportunities to eliminate the evil on a large scale.

I would like to suggest that during our current time period for sending forth righteous thoughts, we focus on evil in other realms in those regions that are still severely persecuting Falun Gong, and make the evildoers meet immediate karmic retribution. As Master said,

"The basis of what Dafa disciples do is saving people and doing good. These righteous thoughts are to stop wicked people from doing evil, to warn other bad people, and to prevent the world's people from committing sins, and their purpose is still to save all beings." (Stop the Evil Acts with Righteous Thoughts).

Above is only my current level of understandings, please correct any mistakes.

Falun Dafa Saved My Life

(Clearwisdom.net) At 19 years of age, I lost an arm when I went to war for the Chinese Communist Party. Now I am over 70 years old. Before I practiced Falun Gong I had many diseases including hypertension, arrhythmia, tachycardia, enteritis, influenza, and hemorrhoids. Last year I even contracted an incurable disease, but Falun Dafa saved my life.

At the beginning of September 2004, I lost my appetite and could no longer sleep well. Within one month I used six bags of Chinese medicine, but with no effect. My wife persuaded me to go to the hospital for an examination. I went, but my wife did not tell me the results. She said simply, "Your disease is very severe." After two days, she advised me to go to another hospital for a second opinion, but we got the same diagnosis. "Metastasis lung cancer." Doctors and my wife told me, "There is no medicine in the world to treat this disease."

After that, my wife said to me sincerely, "You can only practice Falun Dafa. Only Master can save you." I started to think about my wife's experience in practicing Falun Gong. The many diseases she had went away and she became very healthy. She never took medicine and she had a good attitude, willingly taking on the bulk of the housework.

For the past eight years, my wife had been urging me to practice Falun Gong, but I did not listen at all. This time, I was persuaded. I have seen many lung cancer patients spend hundreds of thousands of yuan for treatment, then pass away just the same. This disease is really incurable.

Once I decided to begin practicing Falun Dafa, other practitioners enthusiastically sent me the book Zhuan Falun and other writings by Master Li. With the help of my wife, I started practicing the exercises and studying the Fa. As I read Zhuan Falun seriously and practiced the exercises, Master purified my body. I recognized the symptoms of eliminating karma as good things. As a result, I quickly recovered my health. Thanks to Master's compassion, Dafa gave me a second life.

This is my personal experience. I advise those with predestined relationships to obtain Dafa and cultivate. You will benefit and gain health.

Terminally Ill Patient Cured by Listening to the Fa

Mr. Jia, a farmer from a village of Harbin City, had late stage pancreatic cancer and it had already spread to his liver, spleen and lungs. His children arranged for Mr. Jia to be treated at the Provincial Cancer Hospital in August 2005. They paid over twenty thousand yuan for ten days of chemotherapy, yet the disease only got worse. The hospital thought there was no point in continuing the medical treatment, so they let him check out and go home. Ten days after he walked into the hospital on his own, Mr. Jia was carried out in even worse condition.

Mr. Jia's wife's cousin is a Falun Dafa practitioner. After she heard the news, she went to visit him, and she asked him if he'd like to learn Falun Dafa. He said that he did want to learn. His wife's cousin sent him the tape-recording of Master Li Hongzhi's Fa lectures.

Mr. Jia had not eaten for four days. As he listened to the lectures, his family members noticed that his situation was improving. After listening to only one tape, he was able to walk without assistance and he ate a bowl of rice and a piece of cake. Encouraged by the change in Mr. Jia, his family members couldn't help saying that Falun Dafa was miraculous and they all wanted to learn Falun Dafa and become practitioners.

Serious Heart Disease Cured

Ms. Zhu Cuiping is a farmer, over fifty years old, from Erhaozhou Village, Caishan, Huangmei County, Hubei Province. In 2003 Ms. Zhu suffered from serious heart disease. Doctors at Tongji Hospital in Wuhan City told her that she needed a heart transplant, at the cost of sixty thousand yuan, and that there was still no guarantee that she would survive. Since Zhu Cuiping could not afford the transplant, she went home and waited to die. Her children took turns looking after her.

In April 2003 Ms. Zhu met a Falun Dafa practitioner who practiced medicine. The practitioner told her that this incurable disease would not take her if she repeated to herself, "Falun Dafa is good," and firmly believed it.

Two years later, when this practitioner passed by Ms. Zhu's home, Zhu Cuiping called out a hello to her immediately. The practitioner learned that the symptoms of heart disease were gone and Zhu Cuiping lived a normal life. Zhu Cuiping said that she just remembered the sentence, "Falun Dafa is good" and after repeating it silently for less than half a year, her symptoms disappeared and she regained full mobility and could even work again.

Radio France Internationale: French Judicial Authorities Outraged by China's Refusal to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong
On the evening of September 29th, RFI broadcast the following report in Mandarin to Asian countries.

Based on a report published by Agence France-Press on September 29th, a Falun Gong practitioner of French nationality and his lawyer held a press conference in Paris, informing the public that Chinese judicial authorities refused to collaborate with their French counterpart department to investigate legal complaints against Chinese leaders accused of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Regarding details of the complaints, Mr. Zhang Jianping, spokesperson for Falun Gong in Paris, gave RFI the following introduction:

Mr. Zhang: This afternoon, renowned French human rights attorney William Bourdon held a press conference in his office. Mr. William Bourdon stated that a French court had sent a Commission Rogatoire Internationale (CRI) to China's counterpart department, requesting related Chinese authorities to cooperate in an investigation into the roles played by Li Lanqing, Chinese Minister of Culture Sun Jiazheng, the 610 Office and the Chinese police in the persecution of Falun Gong. Li Lanquing, former Deputy Prime Minister of China, was in charge of the 610 Office, a Gestapo-like organization of the CCP that specifically suppresses Falun Gong.

Nevertheless, the corresponding investigation was refused by the relevant Chinese authorities. The lawyer held a press conference to inform the public of this fact. Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit against Li Lanqing during his visit to France in December 2002, while another lawsuit was filed against Sun Jiazheng in January 2004 when he participated in Les Annees Chine-France. Both of them were accused of being an accomplice to torture in the persecution of Falun Gong. Sun Jiazheng, President of the so-called Internet Ethics Committee, was charged with abusing Internet technology to defame Falun Gong and demonizing Falun Gong in the areas of national culture. Meanwhile, Li Lanqing was head of the 610 Office, a Gestapo-like organization that is specifically set up at all levels of China's governmental agencies to persecute Falun Gong. Both Sun and Li have played a major role in the persecution of Falun Gong.

French judicial authorities conducted subsequent investigations into the case, and then sent a CRI to China's counterpart department, but China refused to cooperate. The lawyer came up with the following conclusion: Firstly, judicial cooperation is being developed between China and France, but China's attitudes contradict the mutual cooperation. Secondly, as far as economy is concerned, China and France have been cooperating well. But in the aspect of judicial cooperation, China definitely refused to cooperate, particularly when Falun Gong issues are concerned. Why? Normally, once two countries reached a judicial agreement, one country, if being asked by the other, will act in cooperation with the other. Sometimes the judicial cooperation may be practiced slowly, but will be practiced at any rate. However, this time China stated that it was absolutely impossible to conduct the investigation. According to the lawyer, French judicial authorities were outraged by China's uncooperative attitude. He hoped that French judicial authorities could ask China to abide by the judicial cooperation agreement signed by both China and France.

A Falun Dafa practitioner was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at a relative's home when he met a local police officer. The practitioner shared with the police officer about how many Falun Dafa books have been taken away and destroyed during the persecution, and how now many practitioners do not have enough books. He then asked the police officer if there were any Dafa books taken from practitioners in his police station. Having heard the facts about Falun Gong, the policeman replied, "Yes," and handed over dozens of Dafa books he found at the police station to the practitioner, promising that he would treat Dafa and practitioners well in the future.

One afternoon, I was sitting on a bench in the park sending forth righteous thoughts. A man about my age came over to me and greeted me. I said hello as well. He then told me that he received a letter from an anonymous Falun Dafa practitioner. He said that he and each and every one of his family members read it and were moved to tears by the kindness shown in the letter. He said that he wanted to tell everybody about it to make up for the wrongdoings he had committed.

I asked him, "How old are you? What wrongdoings did you commit?"

He said, "I just retired, but I was still working when the persecution of Falun Gong started. I was being loyal to my superiors and was trying to do a good job. I just followed their orders and abused Falun Gong practitioners, force-feeding them. I am so ashamed of myself. In spite of what I have done, they do not resent me. They sent me this letter to save me and my family. They are truly kind-hearted people. I treated them so badly, and they still try to stop us from losing our virtue and tell us that good will be rewarded with good and evil with evil. They also told us that Mr. Li Hongzhi is here to save all people and to teach people to be truthful, compassionate and tolerant. I have heard these things before, but because of my own self-interest, I still abused practitioners against my conscience. I am retired now and have left that evil place. I just want to tell people that I am guilty and not to persecute Falun Gong because they are good people. They talk to everybody about the truth of Falun Gong because they don't want us to commit crimes and lose our lives. This is for our own good. Have you realized that?"

After watching a film about Falun Gong, my 11-year-old niece said to me, "Falun Dafa is so good. I want to go abroad to practice Falun Gong. I wouldn't come back until the ban is lifted in China."

This incident occurred a few years ago but I will never forget it.

A certain prison guard is particularly feared in the labor camp, but she respects and tends to take care of Falun Gong practitioners that are illegally sent there after she learned the truth of the persecution. Once, two prisoners were fighting while she was on duty. She went over and said to them loudly, "It would be great if you were all like Falun Gong."

How an 87-Year-Old Elderly Gentleman Attained Falun Dafa

An elderly gentleman recalls his mother's belief in Buddha. Before she passed away, she told her children that, when they grew up, a Fa would be taught to people. "She told us, 'You have to practice it, it's too late for me. When that time comes, every household will have a stage (television), and the roads will be fixed but there will be no pedestrians walking on them (automobiles replaced walking). Those who do not believe will not be saved regardless of where they run to.' She passed away after she said these words."

The elderly gentleman is now 87 years old. He studies the principles of Falun Dafa and practices the Falun Gong exercises everyday. He sends forth righteous thoughts everyday. He is 87 years old, and he walks with his back straight. His children give him an allowance of 800 yuan, which he gives to practitioners for making Falun Dafa materials. In October 2004, he went to Beijing to send forth righteous thoughts. He circled Zhongnanhai once while sending forth righteous thoughts. Then he went to Jinshui Bridge and shouted, "Falun Dafa is great! I wouldn't be here without the Teacher of Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa is great!" Then he returned home calmly and without encountering any problems.

At 10:00 p.m. on September 23, 2005, the police went to Mr. Tao Weijun's home and searched it until 4:00 a.m. the next morning. A lot of equipment was confiscated, as well as twenty thousand yuan in cash. Mr. Tao's sister, Ms. Tao Junli, who was staying at his home that night, was also body searched and arrested. About ten thousand yuan in cash, savings Ms. Tao planned to use for her wedding, was also confiscated.

6. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wen Xiuzhi and Ms. Li Shuxian Tortured

On June 22, 2005, Ms. Wen Xiuzhi and Ms. Li Shuxian were reported to the police while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong by Secretary General An Jingqi of Shenzhangzi Village in Wafangdian Township. As a result, they were arrested by the local police station. Currently they are being jailed at Lingyuan City No. 1 Detention Center.

Now, these two seniors, who are 68 years old, have some symptoms of illness. Ms. Wen Xiuzhi can hardly walk. The Lingyuan Procuratorate arrested them illegally and the court had an illegal trial for them at the detention center. In addition, Ms. Feng Guifen from Lingbei was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. Currently she is still being detained at Ningcheng Detention Center.

7. [Heilongjiang Province] A Group of Practitioners, Including Mr. Li Yequan, Illegally Arrested

On the morning of September 23, 2005, Mr. Li Yequan, Mr. Yuan Mi and Xiao Zheng were arrested on the seventh floor of the Hostel of the Qiulin Courtyard. On September 23, a policeman revealed that the police were arresting the former contact person of the Harbin City Assistance Center along with his entire family. Even his son, who is attending college, was arrested and is now illegally detained at the local police station.

8. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] A Group of Practitioners, Including Ms. Yang Yongying, Arrested

There are three practitioners from Hegang City who were arrested and detained at the Hegang City No. 1 Detention Center. They are: Ms. Yang Yongying (from Hegang), Mr. Zhao Guiyou (from Hegang) and Ms. Liu Liping (from Daqing). Currently Ms. Yang Yongqing is on hunger strike.

9. [Shandong Province] Ms. Zai Xiulan and Wang Yumei from Shengli Oil Field, Tortured

Ms. Zai Xiulan, a retired employee of Shengcai Hospital of Shengbei Community, Shengli Oil Field, was forced to join the Communist Party Learning Class held by the Shengbei Community on September 26, 2005. Everyone was forced to hand in 1,000 yuan. In fact, the purpose was to brainwash and transform them.

Meanwhile, Ms. Wang Yumei from the oil field is being tortured at the Oil Field Brainwashing Class.

10. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Zhang Peiyun Arrested

In May 2005, the Huili County government and the County Party Committee ordered the relevant departments to investigate a practitioner named Ms. Zhang Peiyun, who has been homeless for over four years. They posted a reward of three thousand yuan for her capture. Team leader Yang Shaoliang of the National Security Team of the Public Security Bureau went everywhere to look for Zhang Peiyun. Zhang Peiyun was eventually arrested in Panzhihua City.

11. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Feng Yuqiong Sentenced

Ms. Feng Yuqiong from Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province was arrested by the Duanzhou police on December 16, 2004. At the same time, her home was searched, and her printers, computers and Dafa materials were confiscated.

In July 2005, Ms. Feng Yuqiong was sentenced to six years and is now jailed at the Guangzhou Women's Jail, where she is being tortured.

12. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ge Zhenming from Daqing City No. 3 Oil Extraction Factory Arrested

On September 23, 2005, Mr. Ge Zhenming from the Daqing City No. 3 Oil Extraction Factory was arrested.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Traditional Culture: Doing Good Deeds and Accumulating Virtue is the Fountain of Good Fortune

(Clearwisdom.net) In China's several thousand years of history, "Do good deeds to accumulate virtue" is a traditional code of conduct that has been valued until today.

In Shang Shu (also known as the Book of History), the author wrote: "Only virtue can move the heavens." In Han Shu (also called, History of the Early Han Dynasty): "Those who do good deeds secretly will be rewarded by heaven." Therefore, people taught their children not to do anything bad, but to do good deeds as much as they possible. Lesson One in how to be a human is to "plant a good seed, harvest a good fruit." In the Qing Dynasty, the children's book, Poems of Elementary School, stated, "Accumulating virtue leads to good fortune; dishonest conduct only makes your life more miserable."

A scholar of the Yi-Ching (The Book of Changes) in the Three Kingdom Era named Yao Xin wrote an article called "For my children to follow" in order to tell his own children to do good deeds and gain positive consequences as a result. The following is what he wrote:

"The ancients did not do good deeds to seek a good reputation, nor did they do it to comply with the requests of others. Their good deeds came from their own internal motivation. They believed that this is what human beings are supposed to do. Therefore, it didn't matter what their situations were, difficult or successful, their virtuous conduct would not change. They were always consistent. Their conduct met the standards of the gods, and it also conformed to everyday people's behavior. Therefore, gods took care of them and people respected them. Naturally, their good reputation did spread and good fortune kept coming. It had to be that way.

Some people appeared to be moderate and humble, but they had hidden agendas. They pretended to be honest and sincere, but in reality they were tricky and selfish. When such a person heard praise, he could not hide his delight and his ego grew bigger. When he heard criticism, he immediately lost interest in doing good deeds. If his reputation or position were lost, the person became angry and wanted to slander and frame good people. But when he blamed another person, everyone disliked him; when he framed a good person, everyone hated him. So if he tried to get a promotion at someone else's expense, it did not work. He only brought more damage to himself.

It's impossible to hide the truth forever; praise and criticism cannot be arbitrarily twisted. If one can abandon one's hypocritical behavior and is open to good suggestions, if one abandons subjective notions and focuses on other people's positive sides, then the person can be open to everything and has nothing to hide. If one can get rid of being overly confident and selfish, always think of other's interests and stay away from bad places and evil activities, one can have a safe and prosperous life and be on the way to being a great person.

People's social status is not fixed forever. Everything is caused by oneself. If one keeps doing good deeds, a commoner's son can become a royal official; if one doesn't do good deeds, then the son from a noble family can become a commoner. Once you realize these principles, how can you not remind yourself to do good deeds?"

Fortune, longevity, safety and all kinds of other good things are all based on virtue. This principle has been validated over and over by numerous people throughout history. Therefore, the ancient sages and ancestors not only taught their children to believe that "good deeds bring good rewards," they also repeatedly told their children how important it is to do good deeds and accumulate virtue.
